My visit here was fine. I was grateful that I could book an online appointment, without having to talk to anybody, at the last minute on a Friday. Overall, I think that they did a pretty good job on the actual painting of my nails. As in, the paint with even without bubbles, etc. That said, The gel on my toes did not last. And two nails in my fill/full set. (Had them since March with no issues) started to lift at the base of the nail. This happened within a week and a half. My big toe polish chipped in about four days. This was before any type of yoga, working out, anything. I also have become very accustomed to the woman who typically does my pedicure is being very thorough with removing ingrown, excess skin, calluses, etc. I definitely found myself wanting more from the callous removal. However, when I most appreciated was the fact that I picked a color that didn't end up looking good on the nail, and my nail tech convinced me to get something better. Poli usually services me but u will occasionally go to her sister if she's not available. They both do a great job! I look forward to getting my nails done every 3-4 weeks as long as it's with Poli. The only issue I've ever had was when my nail chipped the same day I got them done, but I went back to the shopping center for something else and stopped by to see if anyone could fix it. Poli took care of it even though she was very busy ( it was a Saturday) no charge. I've been coming here for a little over a year and was very disappointed with my experience today. I'm paying you all for a service, not for your opinions, and I think it's at bare minimum unprofessional and somewhat rude to tell a PAYING customer you won't do the design requested because "you don't think it will look good". I requested a very basic design. I wanted 2 colors on each nail, straight down the middle. With a stripe of Gold to blend the 2 colors. Jessica told me she didn't think it would look good on all of the nails and suggested I only do 2 nails. I'm not sure if she was pressed for time, or simply did t want to do it or didn't think she could make straight lines, I don't know. I even suggested that another person could do the design if she wasn't able to. She reiterated that she didn't think it would look good and suggested I just do one color for each full nail. I told her that's okay and just give me clear. If I am paying you for a service, please provide the service and not your opinion. If you are not able to complete the service, say that and let someone else do it. A design on each nail would have cost more money, and you'd think she'd want to make the extra money. I had a terrible experience at this salon. This was my first time, after i received my pedicure I moved on to get my nails done. The nail tech tried to overcharge me for a fullset and not a fill-in. I had to call the manager over to correct the issue. As I'm talking the nail tech beside her (his name is Vincent) called me cheap for wanting to verify the price. After letting these folks finish my nails, insult me, the following day the jewels started coming off. I spent $150 for the work to be falling apart literally hours later. After a short time, I have to touch up toes before vacay because worker didn't polish at top of toe. Again, I wish I could load pics. I really liked this place especially the guy at front desk but I won't be going back because of the nickeling & dimeing. First they said they don't do designs on big toes unless it's gel polish. Now, the price has doubled & when I said no they tried to charge me extra for polishing half of the big toes. No price listed. I provide my own polish which saves them money & I saved her time on drilling. Plus, they move on to another client & forget all about you. Perturbed. Yep, that's what I am. I have recently begun getting Apres Gel x done on my nails, the gotcha is that this service is hard to come by. Upon learning that this salon did this, I was happy. It's close to my house and the price for the service is reasonable. Add in the fact that I know someone that goes here (and to my requested nail tech) and her nails are always gorg! I made my appointment online about a month ago with one of the two people that do Apres Gel x nails at the salon, pretty easy process. I also received a reminder text yesterday. Nice! Here is where my first world problems start. Today, (the day of my appt) I received a text letting me know that my nail tech doesn't accept new clients. I asked if there was another person to accommodate me and apparently that person won't return until 11/12. Whomever sent me the text asked if I would like to come in for a full set....clearly this is not what I requested. This is really poor customer service. No where in their site or IG page does it state that staff aren't accepting new clients. I get the new process of limiting your clientele, just let people know. I was able to make an online, same day, appointment for a spa pedicure on a Saturday. I received a text message confirmation of the appointment. The appointment was for 6:20 pm. Other than a little confusion at the check in desk, my appointment and services were professional and efficient. I stood there for a while to check in for my appointment while the front desk person went back and forth with other clients and colleagues. So basically it was hectic. I used to frequent this salon & I would always schedule with Poli or the girl that sat beside her. She was good & I would always leave her a nice tip. One time I scheduled with her & I couldn't leave a tip because I had just enough for my fill in. Fast forward about four months, I schedule with Poli again. Just moved to the area and decided to try this salon. I booked online late the night before. Jen did my pedicure and Tommy did my nails. I really enjoyed both! I have found my new salon. It's really clean and they abide by COVID-19 guidelines. They take your temp then send you to wash your hands. They also disinfected the whole pedicure chair after each client. The front desk guy also disinfected the commonly touched spaces at the sink and front several times while I was there. I will definitely return. read more

I was very weary about coming here after seeing the star rating here but my daughter chose this place one day and she couldn't stop raving about the customer service so I decided to give it a try. I've been here twice now (each time completely different types of services) and think I've have enough experience to give my feedback: Cleanliness: top notch! Hands down. In the age of COVID this is ofcourse something we all pay more attention to these days. No acrylic dust on the floor, all the seats are wiped down in between service, your temp is checked upon entering, to avoid crowds in the front they are implementing appointment only. They spray a disinfectant on everything throughout the day, they seat people 6 ft apart as you're being serviced, you're required to immediately your hands upon entering, everyone working there is masked up. The pedicure bowls are cleaned ASAP, and they use a plastic covering for each client then remove it immediately. 5 stars! Customer service: I booked online. First things first, excellent option! It was easy, seamless and they followed up with a text. They put the prices online so you can budget ahead of time. I even forgot to add pedicure to my last appt and they accommodated me. Manicure: first time I went I got a full manicure with gel only. I previously went to another shop and was furious bc three days into my manicure my gel started chipping which is a big NO. Gel is supposed to last. My gel from HERE lasted the intended two weeks, and it could have honestly gone longer but I wanted a refresh before the holiday. SECOND visit I wanted length but my major concern was the health of my natural nail. HELEN told me about the press on option and I was delighted and I LOVE my nails! (Pics attached) Pedicure: both visits I got a pedicure (and my daughter had a pedicure when she went). Her pedicure lasted for a whole as she's a teen and goes less often. They take their time, lots of color options (which are organized). Also, they don't have everyone touching all on the polishes...only the front desk attendant. Ambiance: again, clean, neat, friendly, music playing, decor nice. Honestly the only thing I see that could be a negative is their pricing is a tad bit higher than other places but it's worth it. I happily paid and tipped because they deserved it. Oh and maybe parking. Depending on what time you go, parking could be challenging as the area has gotten much more busier. I usually go there for my pedicure and Jenn is my favorite. I am writing this review based on how rude Mimi was when I asked to get full set. I don't usually get my nails done but decided to get full-set as I have an event coming up. First she was trying to make me get gelx I told her no I don't want to and immediately her face and attitude changed. Then I requested if she could do one nail as french so I can see how the color looks before I decide if I want to get French nails or full color. Popped in here for a gel polish change . There was no wait and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The lady that did my polish change was going to paint over the clear polish I already had on my nails. I had to let her know that I wanted her to drill the polish off and then she could polish it. Once I let her know that, everything was cool and she did a good job. One thing I will note is that a gel polish change is $25 dollars. If my nails weren't in desperate need of a new color, I probably wouldn't have paid that and went elsewhere. In all, I'd give this experience 3.5 stars. I've been here on 3 different occasions and seen 3 different people and this will be the last time. I had a pedicure once that was good but I've been in search of a new nail technician and for some reason it's so hard in PG. If I could leave 0 stars I would. This nail salon was my go to for years. I fell in love with Jen and Hana and became a regular. They brought in a new "manager", "Du", and at first our interactions were cordial and professional. I even overlooked the fact that he was appropriating black culture with his stereotypical lingo. One day I called to reschedule an appointment due to a conflict and Du answered the phone and gave me MAJOR attitude. I typically let stuff roll off my back, but this was so apparent and blatant, I decided that I wouldn't return to the salon because of that interaction. Several months went by and I found myself giving the salon another chance. I set a same day appointment and received a text message from Du telling me "You have to come to this one for sure Kali". I responded with a "?" and he stated that I "be canceling". I'm sorry, what? I let him know that this is unprofessional and to not speak to me with that tone. He immediately called me to tell me he was not speaking with a tone, but that I have a habit of canceling. I have no idea what this man is talking about, or if he has me confused with another patron, but this is totally unprofessional at this point. I am a STICKLER for rules and policies, almost to a fault, so I KNOW this is inaccurate. I asked him if he had noticed that I hadn't been there in months, and I explained to him that it was because of HIM and his unprofessional behavior. He then told me that I didn't need to come today either and he was canceling my appointment. Oh. Ok cool. I'm just chalking this up to God keeping me from something harmful or a possible arrest. I should have turned around and walked out the door when I stood there for a minimum of 30 to 45 seconds before anyone greeted me! The nail color selection is minimum at best. Worst nail salon experience. I want to give 0 stars. My usual nail tech was busy. I don't go to salons like this for anything other than a pedicure nowadays. I asked for a simple white French tip fill and they wanted 65 dollars. They apparently charge 15 dollars if you want your French tip curved which is INSANITY. I told the tech just finish taking the polish off and I'll leave. She said I could pay 45. She starts polishing my entire nail so I'm like I thought you were doing the French tip. She reiterates that the price is 65. I'm like on Nevermind just take the Polish off I'll leave like I planned to initially. She's like ok it's 40 for what I've done...all she did was ruin the shape my nail tech did. She convinces me to just get the color since I was supposed to pay 40 regardless for terrible work. The manager was no help, told me she could fix it. I don't want that woman to touch my nails again if they're gonna look like this. For reference the first photo is the set I had from MY NAIL TECH who hand painted the turtle shell print and I paid less than they were asking at this salon. I got a simple square gel full set. My right hand the nails are not square like the left side and this is after asking for correction. My nails are wide and bulking and I have skinny fingers. Kevin did my acrylic fill in and gel polish and my nails look good if I must say so myself! :) He was efficient and actually made my nails look better by evening out the length across the nails. He has been there 7 years. I used to go to Alex but he and his cousin, Vee have moved. I'm just as happy with Kevin though. He ended the service with a brief hand massage. I came here to get a basic mani/pedi. The customer service is fair at best. Considering this place only has two stars, I didn't go in with super high expectations. I came here because I like the shopping center and it's close to my mother's house. For a Friday afternoon, the wait was pretty short... around 10 minutes. Once I was seated in my chair, all was well until I felt something that kept hitting my feet. I looked down and noticed the Tech had thrown some of the pedicure tools in my bowl. It's annoying to have random objects hitting your feet while you're trying to relax. I looked over at other people's bowls, and the other Techs were doing the same thing. This is the first nail salon I've ever been to that does that. Most places will put the tools to the side for the customer's comfort and I would assume for sanitary reasons. My pedicure and manicure were okay otherwise. My hands and feet looked tailored. The "massage" was lousy and lasted all of 15 seconds. As a man who doesn't get any nail polish, I can't comment on how well they paint nails. The customer service was just okay. My Tech didn't really give me any problems, but my mother's Tech was rude. Her body language was stank. She would point and tap on things to tell my mother what to do. I know the Tech's english isn't that poor to where she couldn't just tell my mother to move her hand or foot to where she needed it to be. She spoke clearly when she made condescending comments out of her mouth. I wish I knew the Tech's name so I can put her on blast. As for prices... it costs an extra $7 for callus removal ($20 vs $27). $7 seems a little excessive to me. $3-$5 is acceptable IMHO. $15 for a basic manicure seems a little high. If I felt like my Tech went above and beyond, I wouldn't mind paying above and beyond prices. But when I get average service, I expect average prices. I know my fellow Yelpers know best, and IMHO their 2-star rating is pretty accurate. I will follow suit with my rating. I stopped going to this place a while ago bc of their poor customer service. Then I heard they were under new management so I decided after years of driving out of my own neighborhood to another nail spa that I would give this one a try again. A couple of random appts weren't impressive. Then I was assigned to Poli. Her attitude BLOWS but she does good work. However, u can't simply tell her how u want your nails or point out any imperfections or she gets highly offended. I do think it's a cultural miscommunication but if a customer tells u exactly what they want, don't try to tell them not to do it, especially if it can be done. I have never asked for anything difficult but the last time I was there I was telling Poli how I wanted my toes and she kept telling me no. It was annoying. I wanted acrylic on my big toes (literally the same way it was when I arrived). She removed it and put some more on and it was super short. I told her I wanted it a tad longer and she got pissed! Literally made it like a long ass fingernail. So I asked her to make it shorter and her response was a deep sigh and then she kept saying I told u I told u. She doesn't take "criticism" very well If u call that criticism. She finally did what I asked all the while speaking in Vietnamese, complaining to her sister. I don't speak the language but u know u can tell when someone is talking sh*t about u. So rude! I don't understand why these salons come into our neighborhoods to provide us with a service but they clearly hate doing it bc their customer service is always so aggressive and anything u say, they (she) felt so offended and was on the defensive. It's just nails! Anyway, me nor my daughter will be going back bc of Poli (and her sister MiMi is no better). Zero personality and just ignores you when you're talking to her. What a shame bc I literally live in Woodmore Towne Centre and would prefer using the services in my own neighborhood. The guy who schedules the appointments and texts with reminders is very nice and kind of funny. A couple things to consider.... out of the 3 times I've been to this salon thus far, my 6 year old has been with me. One complaint that I have with a few of the local salons is that they don't show my kid the same consideration because she's a kid. Keep in mind, we are paying for these services. A child should not be overlooked or disregarded just because they are a child. My baby paints her own nails at home so she really values the time that we can share as mommy and daughter time at the salon. With that being said.... she knows what she wants and how it should look. I think the technicians there know that and that the $20 that comes from the 6 year old and the $20 that comes from the 36 year old should be valued the same. Now on to mommy's review. Vi is the absolute best. She's patient and knows what looks good. Also important, My gel color lasts at least 2 weeks.
