I love this place. I only come for brunch! We always order the flight of mimosas, it comes with all three of the mimosa flavors. Mango, berry and white peach! The eggs Benedict are always so good! The roasted potatoes are amazing but make sure you tell them to cover them in the hollandaise sauce! Sometimes they won't. That makes the potatoes so much better! I rarely order the chicken and waffles but when I do, they are always cooked just right. It is a little pricey, ranging about $12+ for a plate. So it's worth the splurge every now and then. read more

I probably order the cinnamon toast every time. It's amazing. When you order eggs you will need to tell them to add salt and pepper unless they will be bland. I had lunch with a friend recently. We decided to split a Ruben sandwich. The food was delivered promptly and overall the service was good. I wasn't much of a fan of putting coleslaw on a Ruben, but whatever. It's a nice place to visit, but nothing particularly special. I've been to the one in Grapevine (don't know if it's still open). My husband and I visited Mimi's on a Saturday morning to try a new breakfast place. He ordered a spiced muffin to begin and it was absolutely perfect! It was so flavorful and moist and actually pretty large! For our entrees he ordered something with a waffle and I ordered eggs/sausage/cinnamon roll French toast. The eggs were a little under done but we're very fresh. The cinnamon roll French toast is something you MUST try once in your life. It's a cinnamon roll cut in half, battered in French toast batter and cooked on the flat top. It has great depth and a warm flavor. So indulgent! Recently visited this restaurant on a busy Sunday for lunch. The wait for a table was about 15 minutes, as was expected. Our server, a young man named Michael Rios provided FANTASTIC service (we never had to ask for drink refills, condiments etc - he was very attentive). I know it's kind of a weird place for it, but I want to try the new hummus sampler that they have. I love hummus and have had a lot of hummus in my day so I would like to see where this place stacks up. This is my third time at this location and it is always delicious. The wait for Saturday lunch was shorter than expected. It took my friends and I awhile to decide what to eat because there were so many options on the breakfast and lunch menu. Ultimately I decided on the steak and eggs. The New York strip was somewhat hard to cut due to the amount of marbling but it was cooked very well over all (med rare). Eggs were your basic eggs nothing spectacular but the fries and the seasoned butter that melted on top of the steak were very flavorful. I'd definitely order it again. Let the record show that I've only come here for breakfast. Thank you. Mimi's is a one of those places that really could be great, but something keeps holding them back. The food is awesome, but the service, uhm, that's another story. First the food, that's the good part. The breakfast and brunch here is simply awesome. The fresh ingredients makes a great start to there breakfast dishes. I really like coming here for a different take on breakfast. Your can have French Gourmet breakfast; the Crab Cake Florentine Benedict is one of my absolute favorites. The Quiche is good also. The Omelettes are light and fluffy, just the way an omelette should be. But if you're not into the whole French breakfast or omelette thing, they still have the good ole American style breakfast going on too. If you enjoy baked goods, they have a wonderful bakery. The muffins and loafs are killer. Hot and fresh! I don't normally do bakery items, but the Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin is the bomb! Damn! It's good! Now the service is very hit or miss. I think they could use an extra wait person or two on the weekends. Usually whoever is serving our table is running like crazy to from table to table, which in turn leads to forgotten request and slow service, unfortunately it happens almost every visit, unless we somehow miss the crowd. Nearly every time I come here it is close to being full or full. Most tables are taken and large parties of four or more are the norm and there's nothing wrong that, it should be crowded, the food is that good. Get more staff to service the number of people. read more

Mimis is in an awkward stage of having been a quality chain restaurant to having been bought out 7 years or so ago by a corporation that wants to turn this place into a mass-friendly place. To me that means its quality and character is gradually being watered down. Pros: service, the free bread with meals. Cons: can get busy, expect a 30 min wait for brunch on weekends, I've had practically everything on the menu (I used to work there), so here's the lowdown: Breakfast: Breakfast is breakfast to me. This is Mimi's busiest meal. A lot of meals come with muffins- Mimi's muffins are awesome- get one. The berry perdue is exceptional. Lunch/dinner: Quiches are very tasty (comes with muffin... yes!), pastas are for the most part bland, if you like good burgers- the French Quarter is awesome (I suggest done Medium), don't bother with steaks or ribs- this isn't a steak joint, with the fish its hit or miss on the cook- i've had customers complain its dry. Chicken Pot pie is popular. The thing they do best, in my opinion- which they don't really advertise much- is their salads. they are awesome, and I'm not one of these sissy salad guys either. You really can't go wrong with any of them- they're all delish, but my fav is the blue cheese walnut. Most of them aren't your lousy iceberg stuff either- them are some quality greens. Now here is some good advice: if you go out with someone and want a cheap meal, order a salad and ask to upgrade it to a large (a not-on-the-menu option). It costs like one or two dollars more, but then you ask to get the salad split. In the end you pretty much have two decent sized salads along with your muffin and bread. If you want more, add an appetizer (spinach dip), or finish off with a mimi's classic ensemble ($6 for 3 small desserts). Now thats a thrifty meal. read more

Came in for lunch/brunch. Took ten minutes to get seated...got seated at a booth. Had coupon for buy one get one free entree, told the waitress before ordering. Ordered a strawberry lemonade and a coffee and two orders of corn beef hash benedict. Waitress brought food out quite quickly. Eggs were a little undercooked to my liking but okay enough to eat. We finished up and they took off our coupon. I use my Mimi's card every time we go and we had earned a five dollar reward so we got to use that as well. Total for two entrees and two drinks was 12.67 not including tip. We got a strawberry lemonade to go and were on our way. Good cheap breakfast and happy tummies. read more

My friend and I decided upon this place after prior plans fell through. The hostess was attentive and tried to place us at a roomy booth but the seats were dirty and the table still needed cleaning. We asked for a quieter place to avoid pointing out the obvious mess that wasn't yet tended to. We waited about 5-10 minutes for our waitress to greet us and when she finally arrived she introduced herself in passing and said she'd be right back. We waited an additional 10 minutes to get the complimentary bread which she was holding in her hand as she was busy chatting with other guests. When we finally ordered she came back and told my friend they ran out of the half chicken...shouldn't she have known that beforehand?? She checked on us once during the meal and refilled our drinks once. Other than that, she was busy gossiping with another waitress the entire time. I ordered the grilled salmon and frites. Honestly, the fries were the best thing I ate there. The salmon was dry and bland as was the spinach. My friend decided to go with a bacon and egg burger and they couldn't manage to get that right either. The lettuce was wilted and soggy and she ended up dissecting the burger for decent bits as it was difficult to manage. read more

In short, Mimi's is an option for breakfast or brunch, but I would not waste my time here for lunch or dinner. My wife and I ordered a salad here to SHARE and neither of us finished it because it did not taste good! With the salad we had a meatball appetizer to share and we were out $25 bucks. Went home and ate a frozen pizza to fill my hungry stomach for the night. The best thing they have going for them and probably the primary reason they are still in business is their muffins. Yum! Good food, good server, but the noise from the kitchen was awful When we arrived, there were empty tables everywhere, but where did the hostess seat us, right across from the kitchen, absolutely no regard for our comfort or enjoymentThe kitchen staff must have been mad, because it sounded like they were throwing the dishes across the room. We also ordered Bloody Mary, mimi mimosa, and a mocha drink with brunch and those really upped the yum. I've been here a few times for brunch and it was really enjoyable. The waiter was attentive and most importantly, the food was good. The food came quickly and everything was served fresh and hot. I had eggs Benedict with ham and a croissant which was delicious. I am also a huge fan of the croissant and muffins. Go with blueberry or carrot cake, you won't be disappointed. I also love how they have a huge dining table that can seat 8 comfortably. It really felt like I was sitting at home having brunch with my family. Don't go this restaurant there is plenty of better choices in the area. I used to go this place with my wife. But lately they been serving poor food quality and quantity. Also they're no longer having open seating at the bar area. They never told us that. Manager was very rude telling us that they are not doing open seating at the bar. We were staying at a Courtyard Marriott right down the street and Mimi's had a decent brunch menu and an awareness of gluten allergies. The waitress was very accommodating and even handed us a list of allergen information for all the brunch items on the menu. My wife had some really cheesy egg/bacon thing that was almost too much cheese for her, which I thought would be impossible. I went for some special pumpkin pancakes, which were tasty, but nothing special. Overall I wouldn't say this was the best meal we had all weekend, but if you're gluten free and want to go somewhere that will take care of you then you should feel good about heading to Mimi's. read more
