We had lunch yesterday & dinner tonight at Le Margot. Bartender Owen served us lunch and made me the BEST dirty Martini, Ever. He called it. "Galveston Martini (IFKYK!). I'm STILL laughing at his description! So clever! Tonight we had dinner. Jordan was our server & truly understood the menu & the grace of classical table service! His menu recommendation ( Dover Sole, with a brown butter sauce & fried capers, was spot on & he expertly deboned it table-side, which made my classical French table service soul so very happy! He also recommended the Belgium Endive Salad with Gorgonzola, which was yummy enough to make the entire evening worthwhile! I watched the MOD, Matthew, interact with every table in the dining room, a refreshingly old school take on customer service! We enjoyed speaking with Matthew as well. I hope the owners understand how impressive Matthew is & how his attention elevated our dining experience! I don't want to forget to mention the gracious ladies at the hostess station! These young ladies are gems as the first & last impression of every dining experience! Last and certainly not least: the food! After years of wanting to try one of Chef Graham's restaurants, finally made it to Le Margot -- and unfortunately left disappointed. The restaurant is nice with (an obvious)) French chic vibe, but the overall execution of the everything just missed the mark. The French onion soup was extremely salty, as was everything else. The grilled filet mignon with roasted asparagus and peppercorn sauce was a complete miss. The asparagus was not prepared well at all - closer to the bottom was inedible. The filet was a nice cut but had next to no char and simply wasn't cooked well. A bit dumbfounded here. read more

This place has been on my bucket list and it did NOT disappoint! The waiter (very kind, young man whose name I cannot remember) was very knowledgeable about French cuisine. And having been to France it is legit. The restaurant is cozy, well decorated and nicely spaced so that I could have a conversation without people all in our business. As a fan of Graham Elliot, we were very excited to try Le Margot. We had a good meal overall, but there were some things we wish were a bit different. Ambience was great, but the seating is a bit congested. We were seated by the main entrance and unfortunately throughout the course of the night I felt folks brush up behind me as they were walking in/out of the restaurant. It was nice to see them busy, but it did take away from the meal a bit. Potato Leek Bisque was delicious - one of the better items from the night. For the main course I had gotten the Risotto De Jour with Lobster; a bjt disappointed with this one. Risotto was bland and lukewarm and there was hardly and lobster.. hopefully just an off night. Flavor for dessert was very good, but the cake was a bit stodgy. Fort Worth needed a restaurant like Le Margot, and am glad we got to try! read more

Le Margot was next on our list, and while I definitely enjoyed my tartare, I'm eager to return for another visit. We came as a double date with family, and honestly, we were so caught up in great conversation that the meal wasn't the sole focus -- which might explain why I don't remember everyone's orders in detail. My husband had the roasted chicken and really loved it. He's a bit of a bread-and-butter enthusiast, though, and felt the bread didn't quite meet his expectations for a French spot. He also ordered an espresso martini, which he thought was good, but not great. My cousin mentioned she was still a bit hungry as we were paying the bill-- LOL, so if you're coming in with a big appetite, maybe temper your expectations or consider trying happy hour or lunch options instead. On the bright side, the service was excellent, and the host was dressed to impress -- seriously sharp! Overall, a solid spot that I'd like to explore more thoroughly next time. read more

Only bummer was the French onion soup was good, but not as flavorful as I have experienced in the past at other restaurants. The first cocktail I got was delicious, but the Espresso Martini could have been better, and The Beef Wellington was worth the wait for our friends they loved it! But we got there at 7 and about 8:40 we finally got our meals. Yes it does take a while, and the staff and mgmt. was very apologetic, but I don't think they anticipated how long. I was a little wary of this spot given its unorthodox location in a former fast-casual restaurant right off Hulen, but my concerns instantly melted away the minute I entered. This spot is absolutely gorgeous, a perfect mix of modern glam meets French classic, with great artwork and old films projected at the end of the bar. We stopped in for happy hour and enjoyed their absolutely insane drink specials. My very generous vodka martini and my companion's French 75 were outstanding and $7 each - essentially unheard of. We coupled that with their delicious and thoughtful charcuterie plate, the standout being the pate, studded with pistachios. Le Margot delivered an outstanding Saturday night experience. Reservations are highly recommended, and for good reason. The ambiance was inviting and the service was impeccable, only outshined by the incredible food. We kicked things off with a glass of Amor Di Amanti Prosecco and a Napoleon Complex--an excellent cocktail with citadelle gin, St. Germaine, cucumber, and lime. The Arancini appetizer was a perfect start, followed by an outstanding French onion soup and Endive Salad with crumbled gorgonzola and candied walnuts. For the main course, we split the Short Rib Bourguignon, served with whipped potatoes and baby carrots--beautifully paired with a glass of Pinot Noir. Every bite was phenomenal. To finish, we indulged in the chocolate mousse with whipped cream and fresh raspberries--pure decadence. We didn't spot Graham Elliot, maybe he was busy in the kitchen. We tried Le Margot for our Galentines gathering. The decor is so cute for starters! It was raining and muggy when we arrived I went to the ladies room and as silly as this sounds... I'm bummed I didn't record it A long time saying that my mom told me is you can tell a lot about a kitchen on how well they maintain the restrooms. Well! Let's just say I know that kitchen is amazing! Our group ordered a variety of drinks/teas. Oh Btw! The tea comes in the cutest box. I had the salmon. It was great! I was nervous after ordering since I didn't say medium. Yes, I know it's not a steak! Fish can taste overcooked this was not the case. The service was 10/10. My friend spilled her drink and the servers were quick to assist. Once we wrapped up our lunch our server was also kind enough to give us two photo sessions ‍ totally joking but he helped capture the perfect Galentines photo to document. The dishes and details are so pretty. I loved the feminism of this Restraurant. This weekend celebrated a birthday with 8 friends. The restaurant is small and feels a bit crowded. It is difficult to carry on conversations when at capacity, seemed very loud. Our cocktails were delicious as were the appetizers. Our entrees were very good, salmon cooked perfectly and short rib was very tender. Risotto was tepid and a bit bland. We had called about bringing a cake and they said sure, no problem. I was disappointed to see a $30.00 cake fee on the bill and wish we had been told. I have been wanting to check into this place for the last 6 months. The atmosphere here is definitely approachable/fine dining. I love the plates which gave dinner a feel of a bistro in France. The service from the waitstaff was spectacular also. Very attentive and very nice. Especially on Mother's Day which was very busy! Started this place with the escargot pot pie which was fabulous! The escargot was cooked well and adding the puff pastry to it was great. Then came the pan seared scallops which were cooked perfectly and had very good flavor which pair well with the caper-raisin chutney. Then came the Beef Wellington and I've only had Beef Wellington 3 times in my life. This was hands down the best out of all of them. The red wine jus was incredible and made a great compliment to a perfectly cooked and flavored Wellington. To end the evening was dessert. We had the Bake Brie and the Hot Fudge Profiteroles. The Baked Brie is a mind game of sweet and salty that definitely makes you think. The Hot Fudge Profiteroles had a white chocolate gelato that helped balance the sweetness of the hot fudge. It was a great sweet treat. An Honorable Mention goes to the coffee that I had with dessert. It's easy for restaurants to just get pre-ground coffee for efficiency. However here they took the time to grind the beans freshly to make a great cup of coffee. This was all in all a fantastic dinner and evening. Can wait to go back. read more

We went to Le Margot for my birthday dinner. It was absolutely delicious!! Server, Lindsey was an absolute delight!! I tried the C'est Si Bon for a drink, and it was true to its name, and so refreshing - a wonderful pear flavor!! For my main course I had the short rib bourguignon, and it was one of the very best I've ever had!! I asked for no mushrooms, and while the kitchen made a mistake (not a big deal at all, it happens), the manager fixed it quickly, and I still had my food out with my family, so I didn't miss anything, it was so quick!! I was very impressed!! My man had the steak tartare, which is always a hit with us, but it was his meal, and he really enjoyed it. The chocolate mousse for dessert was so delicious, and not even too heavy, perfection!! They really made my birthday so special, I'm so grateful!! And it's such a beautiful place!! We met friends for an early dinner yesterday (Friday) From the moment we walked in the door, Christopher (the sommelier) greeted us and prepared our table as we connected with our friends before sitting down. His warm and professional welcome as well as our first introduction with Owen (our server) set the tone for what became one of the most wonderful dining experience we've had in a long time. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine warmth made the evening feel special in a way that goes far beyond the food--though the food was, without question, outstanding. We were very much looking forward to the French Onion soup (each couple split an order) and unfortunately for us, both orders were too salty for our taste. That said, they took immediate action to remedy it MASTERFULLY and we devoured the Endive salad, instead. Wow, so good and just another time we were impressed by these guys. The Beef Wellington was the star of the table: perfectly cooked, beautifully tender, and wrapped in a flaky pastry that held up to every bite. The endive salad was crisp, refreshing, and wonderfully balanced. Christopher's recommendation of a Bordeaux was spot‑on--rich, smooth, and the perfect complement to the meal. Our group ordered a range of entrées, and not a single one disappointed. The herb‑crusted salmon was flaky and flavorful, the lavender‑glazed chicken offered a unique and aromatic twist, and the braised short rib was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender. Each dish was beautifully presented and clearly crafted with care. Even the bread they brought out was insanely delicious and I had to make myself stop eating it. Ha! But as exceptional as the food was, the service was the real highlight of the night. Owen and Christopher managed to be present without being intrusive, checking in frequently but never interrupting the flow of conversation. Our waters were never empty...which is also a nod to the great team they were working with. Even after we'd paid the check and lingered longer than I usually like to (as a former server, turning tables is important) to chat for a bit, they never once rushed us--continuing to refill our water glasses with a graciousness that made us feel truly welcomed rather than hurried out. This is the kind of service that turns a great meal into an unforgettable one and will absolutely secure another visit and of course, recommendations from us.
