I normally don't do reviews but since this is a newer restaurant I want to give a review to hopefully help out the restaurant. Food: The food was good for what my wife and I ordered, I got the red snapper and she got the catfish and grits, however, she originally wanted The Arlington (this meal comes with a steak), but she was informed that they cook their steaks and lamb chops only well done and it can't be altered. That is a huge turn off! Both meats should be cooking to the customers preference. Drinks: The drinks were good but some came in odd shape cups, like a mushroom and were definitely over priced. The odd shape cups are not needed and make it difficult to drink. Atmosphere: The place looks nice but definitely needs tinted windows to block out the sun, especially in the afternoon when the sun is shining bright through the windows. The chair that I was sitting on felt hard and cheap, probably just needs a better cushion installed. The table was wobbly like the base and the top wasn't tightened the whole way. The bar also doesn't match the vibes of the rest of the restaurant; needs better organization appearance of the alcohol bottles. Service: The service was decent, but we were informed that they need a physical card (that's fine) but there is a automatic gratuity charge of 18% and then at the end of the bill ask for another tip. So overall, this place gets 3 stars But definitely has potential to be much better. read more

Had a great Saturday outing at Soufflé Bistro in Arlington! The catfish was really good, and the fried green tomatoes were thick-cut but packed with great flavor. The vibe was second to none great atmosphere, good energy, and definitely a spot where you can relax and enjoy yourself. Our waiter was good and took care of us well. ZERO STARS. Absolutely HORRENDOUS. Save your money and just go to Waffle House This was hands-down one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We had a 3:00 PM reservation, arrived on time, and ordered by 3:20. We were still waiting on food well after 4 PM. And when it finally came? Cold. Food was brought to the wrong table, then trickled out so 1-2 people had food while the rest of our party sat there waiting. And the pancakes? RAW. We couldn't even get water refills because they didn't have clean cups. Yes, you read that correctly. A restaurant ran out of clean cups. The restaurant itself was hot, the floors were sticky, and the music was obnoxiously loud. So we were uncomfortable, hungry, thirsty, and listening to music loud enough to make conversation difficult. And THEN they slapped on an automatic 20% gratuity. For what, exactly?! The audacity was almost impressive. A 20% tip should be earned through service--not automatically collected after an experience this disastrous. It honestly felt like they knew nobody would willingly leave 20% for that level of service. Cold food. Raw pancakes. Dirty cups. Wrong-table deliveries. Ridiculously long wait. Food arriving in installments. Uncomfortable atmosphere. Automatic 20% gratuity. An absolute NO. Save your money! You've been warned. read more

Terrible service and kind of sad how clueless these people are in here. Quick to tell you about the auto gratuity etc etc, but you have to search and ask for everything. No water no polite greeting hell no waitress etc etc. It's sad because you want to support your people but I will never sacrifice my experience for something like this. We thoroughly enjoyed Soufflé B&B. I saw some reviews on social media and thought it'd be nice to stop in and celebrate a friend's birthday. We did Saturday brunch and the food was excellent. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with cheese eggs and chicken sausage with a side of potatoes. My friend ordered a bowl of grits and the crab cakes. Both were seasoned to perfection, fresh and hot. Let me say, you will be full! The portions are healthy so you're getting your money's worth. Our server was very attentive, polite and helpful. He made sure our water cups were full and even had the staff do a table celebration with a slice of German chocolate cake. Cocktail: I chose a strawberry peach mimosa and my friend chose the Under the Sea. Between us, spent about $118 as they add 18% gratuity. However, we had a great time. The Soft Grand Opening experience at Souffle Bistro and Bar was GREAT from the time we walked through the door until the time we left. Bebe, the General Manager, was so nice, and the customer service was top tier! I had the Hot Honey Fried Chicken with mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. When I tell you that macaroni and cheese was delicious! The Brussels sprouts were good but a little over-charred, so I couldn't fully enjoy them. My friend tried the Hot Honey Shrimp and really enjoyed it. Overall, the food was good, the vibes were good, decor beautiful and they even surprised me with a slice of delicious birthday cake. Off the rip the ambiance was nice and pretty had the R&B music playing to where you vibing and don't have to talk over the music. The waitress we had was really sweet, attentive, and on point of what we needed. Now what I ordered wasn't bad, which I ordered the omelet with chicken sausage with potato wedges and a pineapple mimosa which was not too sweet or bitter. With the omelet I think it should of had more meat choices to choose from. When I go back I will try something different. read more

This restaurant is a 10/10. I was a little hesitant to try it initially because of mixed reviews but honey when I tell you I'm so happy I followed my heart and gave it a try because it did not disappoint. When walking into the restaurant we were greeted by a hostess who was so kind and hospitable. That was just the tip of the iceberg, the restaurant and decor is BEAUTIFUL and that description does it no justice. The server was just as kind and welcoming as the hostess and knew the menu like the back of his hand. Now let's get to the food...baby everything was on point. From the sol rolls, to the banana crunch waffles and the fried chicken not to mention the grits were soooooo good...some of the best I've ever had. To top that off, there was no hassle with parking. Amazing food, environment, and service. Our service was Malaysia. She was knowledgeable of the menu, so sweet, and very patient as we asked questions about the menu and picked over our cocktails. The food was promptly delivered and fresh. This reminds me of a restaurant I'd find in Atlanta but it's in a perfect location in Arlington. The food was sooooo good. The food was delicious. I got the waffle tower and whole chicken wings. The fried green tomatoes were the best I ever tasted along with the angle eggs with fried shrimp. However, the music was too loud for a conversation and the service was very slow. Apps took long to come out, and the tables food did not come out together. It was very beautiful but definitely more hands needed in the kitchen. My friends complained about the pancakes and waffles not being cooked long enough after they were the last thing to arrive. At Soufflé Bistro and Bar, I ordered the ribeye steak. I was with a table of four and two people ordered pasta and the other ordered catfish and breakfast potatoes. And to start, it took over an hour to just get our food. Our server only came to us about 2-3 times which was only to get our drinks, entrees, and food, not to check on us or see how we were doing. When I got my steak, it looked nothing like advertised, I didn't get to say anything because I was already late to something else I had a reservation for (due to the food taking so long) and because I assumed that this was atleast alike to what it was supposed to look like. My steak looks NOTHING like how it was supposed to be, and it was also very well done despite me asking for medium well. No, my steak wasn't cut into 4 large thick chunks of juicy steak. I got 4-5 pieces of actual good steak which were all very thin and skinny. The taste was good but the rest of my 3 thin and skinny pieces were all just fat. I started to assume I just got someone's leftovers because that's literally what it looks like. The inside is nice, just extremely cold. No, I would not eat her again. And despite me hinting at a complaint for my food, nobody checked on me. In fact, our server said "Well everyone got here at the same time so it will take awhile and our chef is busy", she brushed it off. All I got as an 'apology' was 10% off ONLY for the birthday girl (in which they didn't celebrate), not for anyone else at the table. I know thay are new but... We were greeted when we walked in, but it was a little bit of a challenge to find the right door because of the lack of signage. Michael was our waiter, he had lots of energy but it took awhile for him to service our table because he had a large party he was helping. The decor is nice, they have music playing to create a vibe but it was a little loud and made it hard to have conversation. The booths are spacious but not crazy about the cloth fabric, made it hard to maneuver in and out of the booth. It also took awhile for our drinks to come out and we just got waters and soda. It took my friend almost 30 minutes to get her drink from the bar. The food came out piecemeal. My friends ordered a breakfast sandwich, we had 2 catfish and grits, brussel sprouts, oreo Waffle popsicles with a side of bacon and my husband ordered the, chicken and waffles. We got one catfish and grits and the breakfast sandwich first, then my kids bacon, then the 2nd catfish and grits, brussel sprouts and about 15 minutes later my kids waffles came out and about 5 minutes after that they bought my husband chicken tenders and waffles...my husband said absolutely not. Michael apologized and said they had burned the wings and wanted to bring him something. My husband was like that is not what I ordered. About 10 minutes later my husband finally got his meal but everyone else had already finished eating. He said the chicken was just ok and he wished the batter had more flavor like cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg. It was not worth the wait. My catfish was cooked well but it was advertised as Cajun, it was not spicy at all. I also got a drink berry and bubbes, it was actually tasty but not worth $18. The Brussels sprouts were cooked well, but they had too much salt. Michael apologized again and discounted our meal but they charge 18% gratuity regardless of the size of your party. We said, if they make it a year, we may come back because hopefully by then all their challenges will be worked out especially in the kitchen and the bar. read more

We had our weekly #DateNight on Thursday this week to check out the soft opening of @soufflebistroandbar and I must say we WILL BE BACK! The servers were very attentive and the food was delish; creamy grits will have you wanting to slap yo mama! My only concerns were the potatoes were not top notch because I love a good mash, the peach cobbler was okay, but I do not like chunky cooked peaches, and the crust seemed like some type of soggy/crunchy cookie. Lastly, it was a bit warm when we first walked in, but the service manager Mike took care of that! We went for an early dinner, but as the time passed, the place filled up. Drove 45 minutes and then my table and I sat in the dark when they FINALLY addressed the electricity issue after about 10/15 minutes. They told us " the electricity is out, it's Labor Day and no one is coming, all of your drinks and food, we will cover and happy Labor Day" VERBATIM!!! I mean as a paying customer, who went to a restaurant with no electricity, how would you interpret that??? We proceed to the door and get ran down as if we were trying to skip a tab, by a server who wasn't even our server lmaooo. I cannot make this up. Then the manager had the audacity to say "no you misinterpreted what I said". Okay. I guess the whole restaurant did!!! It was unprofessional, the service was horrible, the wait time is extreme and I really couldn't tell you how the food tastes. If it was my restaurant, I'd keep it closed until I got better management, proper etiquette, and more attentive servers. In this day and age, "black owned" labeled is not enough. Like have some decorum. Have some respect for the PATRONS that keep your business open!!! We don't HAVE to go somewhere with $20 drinks and no electricity!!!!!! read more

We visited Soufflé Bistro and Bar with high hopes for an elevated dining experience. The restaurant is well-appointed with a really nice vibe, and we would honestly love to see a place like this thrive. Unfortunately, the actual experience fell completely short. Arriving at 11:45 AM, we waited a full hour just to receive an appetizer of deviled eggs, and an hour and a half before our entrees arrived--only for the waffle to come out cold and tough. To make matters worse, the overall service and food were terrible throughout the meal. At this rate, it's hard to see them succeeding unless major changes are made. Atmosphere is cool and the staff is pleasant but the service is awful. Even with having the first available reservation time for brunch, it took an hour and 50 minutes for our food to be delivered and another 28 minutes to settle our bill. If it's wasn't for my daughter's birthday, I definitely would have walked out. When you have set stipulations like mandatory gratuity added and 90 minutes max on seating, you should have an operation that runs so well that customers aren't so adversely affected. This all topped by the food being below average (lacked seasoning and flavor). Hopefully they can get their services improved before it hurts their reputation. Just one bright note, Gabrielle, our waiter, was wonderful, patience and very apologetic for the poor experience. At least it showed they cared. read more

Wanted to try this new place for my solo birthday dinner. It was abnormally hot inside the establishment, which was 85 degrees or more. After I was seated, I had to ask about the A/C unit and was informed something was currently wrong with the vents and unit. I just had a glass of ice water, pulled out my battery powered fan and waited for the waitress to return to ask for all my food to be placed as a to-go order. Went to sit in my car A/C to wait for my food to be ready. Went back in after 30 minutes and was met with multiple plates and told they were out of bags. They asked if I wanted them to wrap in plastic, which still worked. Perhaps this was just a horrible day to go, and wish I had not wasted a birthday reservation because it was for 7:15pm. Once I got home, I sat at my dining table and reheated the food. Although I couldn't enjoy the establishment, the food turned out to be decent. I can't honestly recommend right now. read more

Negatives: This was my first time going here. I was seated at the bar and the bartender greeted me and was very nice and gave me this disclaimer: They have 18% gratuity on every ticket regardless of the size of the party and they're a cashless business. I paid $31.25 just for myself (no drinks included) I had to wait 45-50+ mins for chicken and waffles. The chicken wings were very small (3) and waffle was dry. The presentation was very poor and not what was pictured on the menu. The excuse was that they had some large parties and I'm assuming that was the priority over everyone else in the restaurant. They're were multiple waiters/waitresses just standing around so i'm assuming it was the kitchen's fault but nonetheless not a positive experience. I wasn't offered anytime of complementary drink for wait (neither did I ask so maybe try that if you experience this) . I also didn't ask to not pay. Going back I probably should have just declined the food and walked out the restaurant. Positives: The interior was really nice and the music selection was great. The chairs were comfy! The decor was very nice and inviting. The service was good but you can tell the waiters are all new to this line of work (very green), but no reason to fault them. We ordered the soul rolls - they were good but not sure the sweet potatoes need to be included. My husband was in love with lollipop lamb dish - he raved about it end to end. I kept it simple and had the chicken & waffles - pretty standard, BUT the side of Mac and cheese was well worth it! I wanted to love this place because the establishment itself is very nice and the musical selection played was great, but the service was completely unacceptable. We arrived and there was no wait--we were seated within 2 minutes. However, it took about 15 minutes just for someone to come take our order, and over 30 minutes just to get a glass of water. Ultimately, we waited a total of 2 hours and never received our food or our drinks. To make matters worse, a party that arrived well over an hour after us was seated and received all of their food and drinks within 15 to 20 minutes. Whenever we informed our waitress about the delay, we were just repeatedly told, "We will have this fixed shortly," "Your drinks will be out shortly," and "I'm looking into your food now." Unfortunately, those turned out to be empty promises, as nothing ever arrived. Beautiful venue, but the communication and service were absolutely terrible. The food is amazing and drinks. I have tried this place 4 times. The service is getting better but the food is what keeps me coming back. The ambiance is very nice. They are definitely making improvements with their service. My favorites are catfish and grits, strawberry cheese cake pan cakes, red velvet waffles, chicken wings, pink velvet strawberry pancakes. I tried the Alice in Wonderland and it was so sweet and strong the PERFECT combination!
