Mimi's Cafe was my family's go to for Sunday breakfast for years. About 2 years ago we noticed a decline in service and food quality. We stopped coming for about a year now. We tried to give it another shot today and big mistake! Without exaggeration it took 30 minutes to get drinks and almost 2 HOURS to get our food. The waitress was nice and apologetic , assuring we would get a discount. Well we got $4 off, definitely didn't make up for the inconvenience of dealing with 3 hungry kids for 2 hours. We marked Naked wings with sauce in the side on our order. When we went to pick up they added the sauce on the wings and when the hostess asked for the manager all she said was "oh, let me take this back its going to take a while". This the the 2nd time this has happened. The food is not bad but dont do take out when you keep getting the orders wrong and cant do it properly. Service is super slow and no updates are provided while they make you wait a long time for your food. It is a day and night difference in the service as compared to the Mimi's Cafe in Rancho Cucamonga. Whoever is managing this store has a lot to learn from the management and team from Rancho. It will be to your benefit to observe and learn from Rancho Mimi's. Also you need a manager that is actively involved and visible in the dining area. The bacon is super salty. After a long day of house painting, a friend and I stopped in for an afternoon meal on the way home yesterday (9/24/17). The food was great (I had the Roasted Chicken Croque Monsieur), and the service was exceptional. Our waitress, Hannah, was amazing and took excellent care of us. I was there last night with my family. I usually have lunch there a couple of times a week. The service is usually great during the busy lunch crowd. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Friday night dinner service. It was not busy at all, yet it took us (along with three other families) about ten minutes to be helped by the hostess. We finally got seated and waited another 10-15 minutes before our server made it to our table. Another 10-15 minutes to get us our tea and water. At that point she said she would give us more time to look over the menu. I told her we were ready to order and that just made things worse. She was rushed and eager to leave our table. We could not finish our sentence before running off. We were missing place settings, she spilled some of the hot water from the tea so we needed napkins to clean it up because she did not offer to do so, we needed straws for our water, spoons for our soup, honey for the tea. We look like idiots having to ask for everything piece by piece because she would run away. Finally, a manager came to check on us and I explained what was going on. She gave us the obligatory apology and said she would ask her to slow down. At the end, my sister's soup turned cold waiting for a spoon, the tea got cold waiting for the honey, and the fries got cold and greasy waiting for ketchup that we never got. What's worse is that she was totally condescending to us after her manager spoke to her. She talked to us very slowly in a very sarcastic and disrespectful manner. Mimi's is just ok. I'm not a huge fan of the food, but I can find at least one thing on the menu that I can enjoy. This place is great for families and it seems like everyone can find something on the menu that they can eat. Whenever I go to Mimi's, I order the crispy artichoke dippers and the Mediterranean pasta. The crispy artichoke dippers are actually pretty good. The pasta is a little better than ok. The ambiance here is nice. Very family-friendly. The service was friendly here too. Parking was easy--they have a huge lot. Would I come back here willingly--no. I just got back from Mimi's Cafe. I took my parents here because it had just opened a few weeks ago.. and it's Valentine's Day weekend.. so I thought I'd be a good daughter and take them out. The server we had was very friendly and hard working. She couldn't get to us right away, but she would constantly let us know that she'd be with us. We didn't feel neglected at all. My dad ordered some fish dish. He like it. But he was seated across from me that I didn't pay attention to what he had exactly. He ate it all, so I'm assuming he liked it. Mom had the ribs. Instead of fries, she asked for vegetables and they easily obliged. She enjoyed the ribs. She said they were meaty and flavorful, even though the bbq sauce wasn't too smokey. She says it could have been a little better if it was. She enjoyed it and said she'd get it again some other time. I had the pot roast. Yum. Tender meat, and good brown sauce. I'd get it again. I also had a cafe mocha.. and that was good too. But I'm happy with any type of coffee drink.. I am by no means a coffee snob! We ended the night getting the classic dessert ensemble.. or whatever it's called.. it came with an apple crisp, breadpudding, and a brownie sundae.. soooo yummy. I went for breakfast for the first time here today. I had an avocado BLT omelette. It was good and their potatoes were good. It's ok food. Nothing to rave or complain about. Just your standard breakfast food. However, their service was eh. Our first waitress was real nice. An older lady, can't remember her name but she had to go on break so she handed us over to Megan for all our needs. My mom and I really needed to refill our overpriced generic tea but Megan (who I had no idea who she was) was nowhere to be seen. Countless waitresses passed by us, I'm sure one of them had to be Megan. But alas my I've cubes started melting without any tea in them. I even put my glass on the edge of the table as an obvious sign. I saw one waitress glance at it, I know she did! I think that was Megan. But nope. Nobody came by. Our waitress came back after half an hour and I told her that nobody came by and she was sincerely apologetic and have us a free muffin. That was nice. It's not just about getting my dumb tea refilled but if you're gonna work in the service industry, then know what you're getting into. Passing by a table you're supposed to be servicing and just glancing doesn't just look bad on you, it looks bad on the whole team and restaurant. Megan, you represent Mimi's cafe here. This place USED TO BE good... The food is fine, it's Mimi's... it's essentially the same as every Mimi's you've ever been to. The thing that brings this particular location down to 2 stars is the service. The service is pretty terrible here ALWAYS. It all starts when you walk in... if you get sat in the room to the right (as you walk in), you at least have a slight CHANCE of getting good service. But probably not. If they walk you past the bar to the left and put you in that room...... lol, just expect to be there for a while. I don't know why; I don't know if its where they put new servers or what... but the service is always bad in this room. My wife and I used to frequent this location because we've lived locally for 7 years now. That was back before they changed the menu 3 times, and they ran off all the good servers. Save Your Money! Earlier this year after a change of new ownership we noticed that quality has been sacrificed to save a dime. Apparently someone at corporate made a decision to change vendors and what was once our favorite place for soup has become the last place we would go for good soup. This was the best visit we have ever had at Mimi's! I had been craving their Carrot Muffins forever and so glad we chose this location. The food was great, but one thing that stood out....the service. Our server Brandon was professional and a class act. He had the expertise of waiting tables like he was working in a 4 star upscale restaurant. His tableside manner was more than anyone could ever expect for a cafe. Terrible. Came for breakfast and they managed to butcher an omelette for my wife and me. I got the Santa Fe and they dumped eggs and ingredients then cooked both sides completely drying it out. On the plate they folded it over and it was cracked down the center. They didn't even add cheese. My wife got one with tortilla chips like a Mexican version. Chips were stale and nasty, the omelette had no flavor. On a bright side the muffins that they probably don't make were decent. So my 1 year old aye and we sat and waited around until they decided to come remove our plates. 10 min later after flagging down manager they took an order for salads. I'm writing this while waiting wondering how much longer it will take. The manager was however friendly and handled it right away but the server seemed butt hurt and refused to return to our table after even though it was not his fault. So we couldn't get refills or anything. Never coming back Update my Cobb salad came and the turkey was dry and crusted. The manager served it. I grabbed a piece and chewed on it and it was hard and visibly dry. I looked at the manager and said why don't u try a piece, to which he did not want too ( I understand not wanting to) but I asked him if this looks fresh. He agreed that the gurney appeared old and stale and had hardened edges. My wife got a salad as well which was newer on the menus and she just took a bite and asked if we can leave because it was nasty. The crappy part is that my wife and I never get out One of our daughters was with family and we were taking advantage of a peaceful brunch morning with our one year old. My 1 year old ate and by time an hour of terrible old outdated food was attempted to be served she was done and now restless. The manager tried hard to get us a meal but after 4 plate I did not trust anything as it's not a one plate error. All their food at this point appeared expired, over cooked and more. I just had "breakfast" at this location. Apparently they don't use real eggs on their omelettes. Our food was unflavored, cold, and the "eggs" runny/watery. The waitress didn't bother to ask if we needed refills on our drinks. My avocado omelette had like two small strips of avocado, and the bacon was just placed on top. The manager told us that we are the first to complain about the taste. Lol! I highly doubt that. Also, that people have different taste....dude, really?
