The service was excellent but they had an advertising on the board that said free pack of muffins so we asked the server & said if you buy a four pack of muffins and the second one is free. First off, let me say I'm a fan of Mimi's...always has been. I usually go the the San Bernardino location but the other day my husband and I went to the Fontana location for breakfast while we passed time waiting for our car to be serviced. Our waitress was awesome, attentive and friendly. Wish I could say the food was just as awesome. The potatoes were not just cold, they were undercooked. My bacon was burnt, crispy but not in a good way. The buttermilk spice muffin (one of my favorites) was dry and on the hard side. I'm a baker....that muffin was past it's prime. My husband asked for his sourdough toast to be well toasted....it was pale and soft. My over easy eggs and his omelette were the two good points. I brought my kids here as a detour from the burger chain restaurant next door. It's been years since I've been to a Mimi's Cafe and wanted to enjoy a sit down meal with hot coffee. The muffins brought me back to my younger years visiting their restaurant. The sight and smell of them is nostalgic for me. It's such a staple and you must try one when you dine here! It was also nice to see all the New Orleans decor. My kids even enjoyed looking at the photos and the colorful light fixtures. Vivien was such a great server. Warm, friendly, and attentive. Stopped in 2 nights ago. Only 1 other customer in the place. Ordered pasta jambalaya. Taste was good but pasta a bit overcooked and chicken pieces a bit dry. Questioned whether made same day or before was told same day but I have my doubts. Our server Maria was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Have always like Mimi's food, until they change the menu and take favorites away! Tried again today and Santa Fe omelet was still good, however the bread basket was like they had someone else bread they didn't finish and let out overnight and put in my basket as it was so hard one would break a tooth on it! We got refills and this omelette is spicy. Our refill was basically the to go cups! Sadly won't be on my list of places to re visit any time soon! Today was a "going away "breakfast for Fr. Jacob by the Filipino ladies of St. John XXIII Parish. Upon arriving at the Cafe we were greeted, seated and served by the awesome "Vivien" !!! She was very patient in taking our orders and paid attention to all the seniors' request at the table... lol.. taking special group pictures ( which is a must in any occasion) by Vivien who was so accommodating making sure everyone had a smile for the camera. Mimi's Cafe is Father's favorite Resto and he always had been ordering the Citrus Salmon Salad. He really loves this dish that he really had a clean plate after. I had to try the corned beef eggs Benedict and I was impressed by the large serving. Located off Sierra Ave. Plenty of parking. We've eaten here previously. We were immediately seated in a booth. Our server took our orders after taking a few minutes to decide. Our family ordered the French pot roast, the jambalaya and the Santa Fe omelette breakfast. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and we enjoyed the ambiance here. Since COVID, the prices went up, but we didn't mind. Within a few minutes, our meals arrived. The food was delicious as we expected. There must be a different cook because the French pot roast wasn't too salty this time. The rest of the family enjoyed their choices. I had forgotten that they serve breakfast all day now. Came back a few months later today, seen the Rating was updated to A so decided to give them a chance. Mimi's finally reopened for dine-in on the patio. Most of the menu is available. Scan the menu via QR code to make it contactless. Manager is kind enough to hold tables when it's not too busy and you call ahead. They are going out of their way to welcome customers back and rebuild the business. Food is excellent as usual. Had the bacon-avocado omelet today, which hit the spot. They have a good selection of iced tea flavors available, which is perfect in the hot weather. I highly recommend the brunch menu on weekends. Arrived here on a Wednesday morning. The restaurant appeared to be pretty busy. I was seated pretty promptly. I ordered the vegetable omelette with potatoes and sourdough toast. My omelette had a crispy outer layer which made it a little hard to cut. I added onions to the tune of almost $3. My potatoes were cooked perfectly brown with a soft center. I can't give this restaurant a higher rating due to the cost. For me to dine alone my bill was almost $20 for a single breakfast dish and a water. read more

The family stopped by Mimi's Cafe and realized that if you want quick seating with fast meal service this the spot to visit. Breakfast is served all day and you know how I feel about having breakfast anytime. We ordered spinach artichoke dip which was okay but my family liked it. I was expecting more of an artichoke punch of flavor with a good Parmesan chicken bite but I was disappointed. I then selected the grand breakfast scrambled eggs with corned beef and hash with malted waffle and topped with mixed berries, my husband pick the jambalaya with pasta and my daughter ordered the chicken and waffles. everything was delivered to our table so quickly. The waffle were crispy yet fluffy the berries with a little bit of syrup sweetened up each bite. The corned beef has was not it for me either I should have stuck with my tried and true bacon. My husband was not really pleased with the jambalaya the flavors were mediocre. I suggested have it made the normal way with rice not pasta but you know when have to try things out once. The chicken was lightly seasoned with a crispy crust and complimented the buttery syrupy waffles. Our server was very nice and attentive. The good is good, service great and the no wait seating always makes me happy. This is a spot we can say we can visit again cause if the service and the quick time to be seated. We also made a visit later in the week with other family members to celebrate a birthday but saint want to have a ridiculously long wait. So of course it Mimi's Cafe for the win. We're feeling like a savory dinner for this visit. As always the servers are very nice and attentive to all their guest. I picked the chicken cheddar Mac with a side salad with bleu cheese and my husband tried the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and garlic spinach, othera selected grand breakfast with waffles, citrus salmon, hibachi salmon and Quiche Florentine. The meatloaf needed more flavor the mashed potatoes was a good combination of lumpy / creamy goodness just needed a bit more salted butter then it would have been better. The cheddar chick Mac was cheesy loaded with bacon and chicken and okay. When ordering a salad be sure to ask for the dressing on the side because the dressing is coated on the salad which makes the lettuce over dressed with dressing. As always I started my meal with dessert I ordered the warm toffee butter cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall the food was okay but I think I will stick with the breakfast all day menu when visiting. read more

Sign states $5.99 as you walk in for two muffins however they charge their New Price according to the waiter. So as a manager why don't they correct pricing as you walk in? Customers think they are paying one price but get charged another. That would of been the very first thing I would of done is I was managing. Does their menu reflect New prices as well?
