Tonight, my husband and I stopped at Del Frisco's Grille for dinner after working a long conference event ant the convention center. We are staying at the Hilton, so its just a short walk from there. When we arrived, we went straight to the bar for the fastest service. The ambiance was nice. Dim lighting, with a narrow space, but they did have an upstairs as well. We got there a bit before the crowd, but it certainly picked up. Our bar tenders Jordan and Amanda were the highlight of the evening in my opinion. They were on top of the drinks. They knew what they were doing and were also able to be pleasant, chatty, and focused. It was cool to observe. My hubby and I travel a lot and we care very much about service. We walked out of Whisky and Rye earlier today because we weren't even greeted. We prdered the Cheesesteak eggrolls as our starter, which came out insanely fast. Not bad butvprobably wouldn't order again. I think it was the cheese for me. I order the steak and fries. It was cooked to the perfect temperature and tender. Just lacked a depth of flavor, maybe. The chimmichuri was good and I added truffle butter, that's a must. I should have ordered a different steak, because I knew I didn't want the fries, they were very basic. My husband ordered the Fried Chicken sandwich. It was huge. He doesn't do all the toppings, so, he may have lost how it was supposed to taste. He said it was not bad, good even. The brussel sprouts were also good but a little sweet, for me. Would I go back, yes. Mostly, because of the service. Each time I've been, we have had great service and great food! The drinks are also very good!

When we arrived, the restaurant was packed. We were greeted by a team of hostesses warmly and with smiles. What a great way to start our visit. We're very happy we had made reservations. My wife and I arrived first and were shown to our table immediately. Shortly our two friends were shown to our table which was on the 2nd floor. We were all excited because we learned that DFW Restaurant Week was still on and there was a special prix fixe menu for the month of August. The $49 charge was for a 3-course meal with a part of the cost going to a worthy cause. The three courses were "Starter," "Entree," and "Dessert." What a deal! Warren, our server, greeted us and took our drink orders. Warren let us know that there was the last day of his training as a server at Del Frisco's Grille. He was stoked. Throughout our meal, Warren was phenomenal, 4-star worth service. But there were other issues we experienced beyond his control resulting in a low 3-star, almost 2-stars, "Just OK" overall. I ordered an "Old Fashion," (my cocktail of choice), and my wife ordered a bourbon and coke. The "Old Fashion" was perfect, and good. Looking over the menus, my wife decided on the fried chicken sandwich accompanied with French fries off the regular restaurant menu. I opted for one of the $49 prix fixe meals on the DFW Restaurant Week menu. For my starter, I decided on the "Thai Pork Meatball, entree "Baby Back Ribs" and for dessert, "Nutella Bread Pudding." One of our friends ordered off DFW menu, and opted for the "Roasted Chicken" entree, starter, "Cheesesteak Eggrolls," and, for dessert, "Nutella Bread Pudding." His wife, who wasn't too hungry, decided on the "Cheesecurds" starter for her meal. The restaurant's decor is very upbeat and jazzy. But it is a very noisy atmosphere, but we were still able to carry on meaningful conversations. Around 15-minutes after ordering our starters were delivered to our table by one of the kitchen's expeditors. The "Thai Pork Meatballs" served with a peanut sauce, Asian slaw, lime and ginger, were picture perfect. The starter had three huge meatballs, enough to share with our table. The "Cheesesteak Eggrolls" were also presented beautifully. As we tried each starter, we discovered the meatballs, along with the sauce, were extremely salty, almost to a point of not being able to enjoy them. The "Cheesesteak Eggrolls" were good but didn't really hit any high notes with any of the members of our party. And yes, we did mention the oversaltiness to Warren. He said he'd tell the kitchen and have them check the meatballs. As a long-time former restaurant manager, I always wanted to hear about diner's problems immediately so they could be corrected and then and not at a later time and date. Since our starters arrived quickly, we knew our entrees were right round the corner. Well, it didn't quite work out that way. In fact, it took over an hour, yes over an hour for our entrees to arrive at our table. In Warren's defense, he came many times and said he'd check on our orders. It was around an hour and 15 minutes before we were served. I did ask Warren to ask one of the managers to stop by and talk with us. Our entrees were good. My wife loved her fried chicken sandwich. My baby back ribs were "fall off the bone" but one side was very overdone to the point of being crispy and chewy. The Cole Slaw and Southern Potato Salad were OK, but nothing to write home about. The barbeque sauce was sweet and smokey. Our friend's entrees were good as well. Yes, the restaurant was slammed, but I feel it was unacceptable. Our entrees took so long to come out of the kitchen. One of the managers did stop by. She had been informed by Warren what had been going on. She said she'd been stuck on the first floor and hadn't had time to check the service level on the 2nd floor. She apologized and offered additional desserts. I guess that was better than nothing. In addition to "Nutella Bread Pudding" we ordered, we also ordered the 6-layer lemon cake and seasonal "Summer Berry Cobbler" topped with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. On to the desserts! All were picture-perfect on the plates and presented beautifully. The "Nutella Bread Pudding" was overbaked, crusty and very chewy, unlike a traditional bread pudding which is "pillowy" and nice and moist. The lemon cake, although very delicious, had hardly any lemon flavor at all. The frosting had a hint of lemon, but none in the cake. The winner in the dessert category was the "Summer Berry" cobbler. I guess we dined at Del Frisco's Grille on an "off-night." Warren performed wonderfully, it's the kitchen that let him down. I just wonder how many other diners experienced a long wait for their entrees. I hate giving three-star reviews but want to be honest. read more

My husband's dry aged steak was PURE perfection! My butternut squash soup was also perfect in flavor but lukewarm warm in the bowl. I don't think those super wide soup bowls help with keeping soup warm. Our service was not great, and playing little nas x was a weird choice in music and not the vibe. We had a reservation for 10 people on Mother's Day at 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, we forgot to include the baby in our count and ended up with one extra guest, making us a party of 12. When we arrived, we asked if another table could be added, but we were told they were completely booked and couldn't accommodate us. Instead, they squeezed in a high chair and one extra chair, leaving everyone extremely cramped and uncomfortable. Since they said they were full and struggling to even find extra chairs, we accepted it. By 8:45 PM, we still had not received drinks, bread, or any service at all. At that point, I went downstairs to ask what was going on and also asked what time they closed. I was told they closed at 9 PM. What made the situation more frustrating was that the upstairs area where we were seated was completely empty. We were the only table up there, so it was confusing why adding another table for comfort was supposedly impossible if the space was empty and about to close. The lady downstairs was kind and even said she didn't understand why we couldn't be accommodated better. She went upstairs around 8:50 PM and finally had the seating adjusted properly. Even then, we never received bread. Overall, my family had a very disappointing Mother's Day experience. We still left a generous tip for the waitress because we respect the hard work servers do, but the overall service and management of the situation definitely did not merit that amount of tip. read more

Love del Frisco's grille! We stopped by today for Sunday brunch. Beautiful restaurant with nice outdoor or indoor dining options. We started off with the fig and prosciutto flat bread. It was very good the blue cheese really rounded out the sweetness of the fig and hot honey and compliments the salty flavor of the prosciutto! I had the cheeseburger with fries my husband had the braised short rib Benedict both dishes were excellent! If you get the Benedict be sure to ask for hot sauce it really makes it excellent! My girlfriend chose to celebrate her birthday here on a Saturday night. We made reservations days in advance for a party of seven--of course! However, when we gave the hostess the name for our reservation, she claimed there was nothing under that name. We repeated it several times, but she still couldn't find it. After digging through our emails to show her the confirmation, her response was simply, "Oh." No apology for the inconvenience. Minus two stars. Once we got situated and had time to look over the menu, we placed our orders for appetizers and drinks. And let me tell you, the wait was endless. Minus another star. On the bright side, the drinks were good, but the flatbreads were just mediocre. For our entrees, my date and I went with the Lemon Dill Arka Salmon, the medium-rare USDA Prime Ribeye, and a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. The salmon was oddly oily, but thankfully, the aioli that came with it saved the dish. The ribeye, while cooked to the right temperature, was completely lacking in seasoning. We literally had to salt and pepper each bite ourselves. Minus another star. I've been at a couple of these locations around the country. This location is usually busy except the early part of the week where you can walk up for a table. Bartender is very good at their job with well mixed classic cocktails as well as their special cocktail menu. Food can be a little hit or miss. Was underwhelmed by the steak sandwich the other night as the meat was on the fatty and grisly side. Though my coworkers meal was well cooked at the correct temp and my soup was also perfect. Wait staff was attentive without being pushy. Prices are on the high side but aren't they everywhere? I would say if you want an after work dinner downtown, are in from out of town or going to Bass Hall for a show this is a solid choice though during the later part of the week a reservation is a must. And if the weather is nice and the square isn't too loud, the outside patio is a nice place to have your meal. read more

First, when we got to the restaurant, we had a reservation in the party room upstairs and the room wasn't even ready when we got there. We got up in our room at 7:15. Then we ordered our food at 7:45, the whole party ordered mainly salads and salmon, which sounds easy to make. IT TOOK 2 HOURS FOR OUR FOOD TO COME OUT, TWO HOURS. That was OUTRAGEOUS. AND EVEN THEN, WHEN THE FOOD CAME OUT, MY SALMON WAS LUKEWARM. when the bills came, they were all messed up, there was extra food added, and drinks we didn't even order. We ended up staying there till 10:45. Even after that, we had to pay for extra parking because we were not expecting to stay at the restaurant for that long. My husband and I were there last night with a group for dinner. The hostess greeted us matter of factly. The grilled salad was delicious and the bread was good. There were two wait staff assisting us and Will, one of the wait staff, was fantastic while the other young lady helping him was horrible. I even commented to Will that he exemplifies the type of service you would want at any restaurant (especially at a Del Frisco type). I've been to this location probably half a dozen times, and be prepared that it is consistently busy. Luckily I had a reservation, so we were seated quickly. The waitress was incredibly friendly, although you could tell she was packed with tables and attentiveness wasn't necessarily spot on last night. All three of us enjoyed our food a lot, it was tasty and the portions were good. It can get a little bit noisy inside, especially around the holidays, but that's expected at this type of restaurant. The egg roll shell has a similar texture to the BJ's avocado egg rolls. 3.5/5 Location is good as there are hotels within walking distance. There is also plenty of street parking and free garage parking nearby. The wait time was a bit long as it took awhile to get our appetizers and entrees. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. My family and I visited over Thanksgiving weekend while we were in town from out of state. The service started off subpar, but quickly went downhill. Our food took nearly an hour and a half to arrive. When it finally did, the potatoes were cold and three of the six steaks were undercooked. We asked for the steaks to be brought to the correct temperature, which took an additional 30 minutes. When they were returned, they were burnt. Fresh sides were not brought out until we specifically asked, and even then, they were colder than the originals. Throughout the meal, the service continued to worsen. Our server never checked on us or cleared dishes from the table. The entire experience lasted over two and a half hours and was extremely disappointing. The manager did comp our bill after we explained how unacceptable the experience was. However, as we were leaving, I overheard our server and another server speaking negatively about our table. Overall, it was a very unprofessional and unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

I've been to several Del Frisco's locations before, but this was by far the worst experience I've had at Del Frisco's Grille. We had reservations at 7:15 PM and were seated in the private upstairs room, which we thought would make for a great setting for my daughter's bachelorette dinner. Unfortunately, the evening quickly went downhill. Our server took quite a while to greet us, though once he did, our drinks and appetizers came out in a reasonable time. The cheesesteak egg rolls and crab cake were delicious--definitely the highlight of the night. However, after that, the service significantly declined. We ordered our main courses around 7:45 PM, and by 9:15 PM, we still had not received our food. I asked to speak with a manager, and although she said she would check on it, she never returned. Our meals finally arrived around 9:30 PM--nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes later. By then, everyone was tired and frustrated. To make matters worse, when the checks came out, they were incorrect, with extra food and drinks added. It took another 20 minutes to resolve, which also resulted in additional parking charges for me. We asked again to speak with a manager, and a gentleman from downstairs eventually came up. While he apologized, there was no real resolution offered--only a mention of a credit through OpenTable. He also stated he was unaware of the issue earlier, which points to a clear lack of communication between the upstairs supervisor and staff. I understand that Friday nights can be busy, but a nearly two-hour wait for food is unacceptable, especially for a special occasion. Unfortunately, this experience has made me unlikely to return to this Fort Worth location. read more

Excellent steaks! Cannot day enough about the steak, especially the ribeye. It was so juicy, and melty, and tender. Highly recommend. Filet was good but the ribeye was so much more outstanding. Great service and wine selection was good. Knocking stars because the sides could have been better.. golden potatoes were too much butter and not very creamy, creamed spinach came out late after all the meat was consumed and it was pretty spinachy, mushrooms were just OK, and same for all the desserts. The deviled eggs were really mustardy and dense, would not order. Cheesesteak egg rolls though were very great. Single bathrooms so there was a line too. We enjoyed the burger, steak, wet burrito, dry burrito and more. Really disappointed with my visit to Del Frisco's Grille last night. Walked in and there was no hostess anywhere, so we just stood there waiting without even a hello. A waiter came and sat us down. When our food came out my steak was very good but my wife's steak came out undercooked, raw in the center. We were celebrating her birthday dinner. For a restaurant that's supposed to be known for good service and quality food, this was a total miss. Del Friscos grille has been a hit and miss lately with either the food or service. My husband & I have eaten at Del Frisco Grill many times. We have always loved it. We decided to go for Thanksgiving. My husband got a ribeye, unfortunately I ordered the turkey. Turkey was dry, dressing dryer, mashed potatoes dry. I picked at my food. Server wanted to know how the meal was. My husband told her & she saw my plate. To make it right we got a slice of pie! Friend got the mahi-mahi and it wasn't cooked. She sent it back but it was the same when it came back up the table.
