I came to Paco's expecting just a solid meal and ended up discovering a whole hidden experience I didn't even know existed. Yes, it's inside Paco's Restaurant -- but Secreto is its own thing. Once you step inside, the vibe completely shifts. It's quiet, intimate, and feels like a true speakeasy tucked away from the noise. You honestly wouldn't know it was there from the outside, which makes it even better. The drinks were excellent. I tried the New Orleans-style daiquiri and it was smooth, balanced, and clearly made with intention -- not overly sweet, not watered down. You can tell whoever is behind the bar knows exactly what they're doing. The service was warm and welcoming without being overbearing, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and elevated at the same time. If you're looking for a low-key spot to actually sit, talk, and enjoy a well-crafted cocktail, this is it. We were headed downtown for a piano concert and wanted to grab some dinner before the show so we had decided on Mi Cocina but their wait time was unacceptable, then I remembered right across the street was this place where Taco Diner used to be so we walked over to check it out. It looks exactly the same as it did as Taco Diner and I can't remember the menu exactly but looks pretty similar also, we ordered a house margarita and a mangonada margarita $10 and $12 both were pretty small glasses actually, I ordered the quesa birria tacos and they were actually really good and my girlfriend had the steak fajitas which she said were really good also except for the portion size was small. The service was slow even though they weren't very busy which is never a good thing when you have somewhere to be soon, overall pretty good place but I'm not gonna go out of my way for it read more

This is probably my new favorite Mexican plane in our neighborhood. Great daily breakfast options - not just on the weekends. I loved that I could get lunch while hubby got his breakfast. My quesadilla was delicious and huge - enough for 2-3 meals and hubby's Huevos Rancheros was delicious. Love the atmosphere, too. It's cozy and welcoming and the service staff were helpful. My only critique is that the guacamole was way too spicy - but I know that's a personal preference. I wish I could do the peppers, but I just can't anymore. read more

Where do I start. Let me say that we were craving one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants but learned they close at 2:00 and open back up at 4:00 which lead us to next door. The reviews were interesting and spot on. I'll start with the Salsa. A Smokey thick based salsa that was missing flavor. My sis ordered the quesadilla and loved em. I tried one and it too lacked flavor. I opted to try something new. Tlacoyo a stew like dish. It was interesting but missed in flavor and felt microwaved. I doubt I would try it again. Magnolia has become my new favorite There are still a handful of places I haven't tried and can't wait to make my way around to them all. This weekend we decided to check out Paco's. We walked in at around 1:00 on a Saturday and the place was nearly empty, I think people were waiting to get out and about that evening or maybe it's the Paco's isn't in the center of Magnolia's strip, but more on the far end. The place was clean, the menu small and to the point. We sat anywhere we wanted. The photos I've attached say it all! The food was delicious, the shrimp was my boyfriends favorite - he literally said second favorite shrimp he's ever had next to hibachi!! Boo!!!! Came here to eat only to find out that it's like a club at night but I came here at 11:07pm and the first thing I asked is if the kitchen was open and the dude upfront said it closed at 11pm I was 7mins past time but ok. I walk in and once you walk down those steps you smell piss and body odor and it's crowded. We sat down and there's just people partying and dancing. It's too closed in to have anybody try to dance in that small space. They has a slight breeze of cool air but for the most part it was soo steamy inside. While i waited for drinks I noticed somebody was eating tacos and I asked how she got it and she said that she just order it. So I called the waitress and asked her if the kitchen is open and she said yes. I informed her and she didn't seem to care and asked if I wanted it so yes I asked for each taco. The food! The tacos were trash and I'm saying this not because I was angry but because I was sober and the food was trash. Tortillas were hard and the meat had no flavor. Had to drown it in salsa because they had zero flavor. The portions of meat in the tacos were nice but it tasted bad like I don't know how to Describe it. The carnitas which just looked like steamed pork taste funny and what was supposed to be a birria taco omfg! Yo that was terrible it was just a big glob of fat thrown into a taco and served. Went here for a date night on a Thursday with the hubs. I had the birria tacos and my husband had the chicken fajita tacos. The birtia tacos were excellent. Very flavorful. The fajitas were tender and so many onions and bell peppers which I love. The salsa has a nice kick to it, but the chips were slightly stale. I didn't mind the heat, but some folks (like my mother, whom luckily wasn't with me) can't handle any tiny bit of spice, so if that's you, best to just avoid this place. Wanted to try something new. The service was decent when I came on a Monday evening. But the food is not good here. The chips and salsa are bland. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with queso sauce as my entree. First off the queso looks and tastes like melted velveta. As far as the food, the skillet queso was served in a thin skillet and wasn't worth the pricing . They didn't advertise kids meals so I'm not sure how much they cost but the tacos with rice and beans , the carne asada meat was so tough my kids didn't like it nor did I in my steak fajitas. We didn't send back our food because we felt bad we kept complaining about our drinks so we just ate the overly salty rice and beans. The shrimp diablo was good and the Michelada . We were shocked at a ticket price of $135 for the quality of food and still being charged for items sent back , but at that point the kids had to go to the bathroom (do not recommend them, very unsanitary.) we just wanted to get out. Pricey for the quality and amount of food you get. I was disappointed by the tortilla chips as the chips were still soaked in oil making it a soggy and chewy mess. The salsa was good though- a nice kick. Our food took over an hour to come out and some of the plates were cold compared to other plates which were steaming hot. The large alcoholic drink that we ordered came a long time after we received our food which was odd. The food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary to warrant the price assigned to each plate. For lunch today my guys decided on Mexican food, so Pacos is where we went. We walked in and were seated promptly. They started us with chips and salsa which was pretty good. I ordered the steak quesadilla. The food took a little bit to come out but was delicious. Not sure that it was really worth the price. This spot is very close to my home and in an area that I frequent often, and I had never had the chance to try their food. I got the chance yesterday to try them for dinner. I called in for three tacos, rice, and beans with chips and salsa. The food was hot and ready in 10 mins for pick-up. They were also very nice. Parking is ample and in a parking lot. The food was delicious and the chips and salsa were so good. I loved the rice and beans as well. The prices are very affordable with most meals being less than $10--no joke. It was super authentic and well marinated. And the plates given to us were so small the pieces of meat kept falling onto the table making a mess. The nopales was also overcooked but somehow was rubbery also. The magnolia locations offers a fun dancing Atmosphere and they are open late into the night however if you're looking for a place to sit back and enjoy the Sundance square views head downtown! Either way, you will be impressed with the menu selections. The chips are always fresh, restaurant is well staffed and I've always been attended to by professional and friendly staff. I enjoy the magnolia location a lot with the patio keeping it low key and laid back for a warm summer evening when I can enjoy my Paloma and guacamole. I have tried multiple entrees and they never miss! It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. So after we debated what we would eat. She decided to go for the enchiladas while I decided to test the birrias. Her food was very good but I want to talk about this birrias y'all! I had them many times at few places. Cause let's be honest here! Not everybody know how to make this staple. We decided to order watermelon margaritas we thought that they were a little too sweet so we sent them back.
