This hidden gem in Flower Mound is a French restaurant that transports you back to a cozy Parisian eatery. The pork ribeye is cooked to perfection, harmonizing beautifully with the apple and leek. The beef bourguignon is a chef's kiss, with a red wine flavor that complements the entire dish without overpowering it. The crème brûlée is equally delightful. The attentive and friendly staff adds to the overall cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return. Many have talked about Vieux Carre so we thought we would give it a try. Arrived early to our reservation time to have a drink at the bar. Place was 1/2 full. Band was playing which made it difficult to have a conversation without yelling. Even the bartender (who was possibly the owner or manager ) commented how loud it was. We'll ask them to turn down just a bit. After about 15 minutes of sipping on our drinks we asked to be seated. A upper scale restaurant would have carried our drinks over for us but not here. Lack of knowledge by the wait team??? We were seated at a table that was directly under an AC duct that we found out leaked in multiple areas on the table. I am sure the staff was aware of the water dripping as the table was wet before they sat us. Why would you seat someone at a table that is dripped on??? The service is veeeerrrrryyyy ssssslllllllloooooooowwwwww. Our waiter was MIA after taking our order. No one checked on us. Asked if everything was to our liking, asked if we needed anything, filled our water, asked if we wanted another drink, asked if we wanted dessert.... We had to ask for everything, water m, containers to go, ask for the check. We contemplated getting up and just leaving since no one was checking on us. The food was above average, B+ Value: average Service: D- Atmosphere: B+ The wait team needs some training. It will be an awhile before we consider trying again as there are many other places on our list.

This was my second visit, and just like the first, it didn't disappoint. The first time I had the tomato biscuit grilled cheese, and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had. This time, I went for the Boeuf Bourguignon, tender beef, rich wine sauce, smoky bacon, and the chive lime cream added just the right brightness. I also tried the escargot in a garlicky Chardonnay beurre blanc (worth it!), and the lemon roasted chicken, which was juicy and flavorful with perfectly sautéed mushrooms and potatoes. Our server, Mondo (yes, like Star Wars), was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better. The ambience is moody and elevated, with velvet bar stools, beautiful lighting, and jazz softly playing in the background.

This was a really nice find in the faux city of Flower Mound north of Dallas. Excellent service and friendly staff complement a cozy sheik interior that emulates that of a french bistro. They have a most impressive cocktail menu which I highly encourage guests to explore. The signature original creations as well as the "prohibition " classics should appeal to the most picky of cocktail connoisseurs. If you're a whiskey fan, be sure to ask for the separate whiskey menu with prices. Very impressive. Food was satisfying. Appetizer of escargot was unique and easy to eat out of shell and plenty for two. My entree was the lemon roasted chicken. A bit of a miss on this one. Billed as a quarter chicken leg/thigh in the bone but served as a chicken breast. Unfortunately this was dried out and tough as one would expect. The bone-in dark meat is what's needed for this cooking method. I wouldn't get it again. There are plenty of other options that were appealing and I would come back to try those. My server Maggie was the highlight of my experience with only two days in the job. Well done! Recommend.

First time visiting and it's such a cute vibe! Our host was Christopher and he took great care of us and provided options to try. We had the loaded fries as an app and hamburgers w/ fries. Burger could have been seasoned a bit more but was still good. Definitely gonna come back to try their brunch or even just sit at the bar for party of 1. The atmosphere is cool enough for that and I love that.

My wife and I dropped in on a Friday evening with the intention of sitting at the bar for a few drinks and snacking on a charcuterie board so we did not make reservations. Turns out they would not have been needed. As a quick note, they do not offer a happy hour on Fridays. I should have used the patrons rule of thumb on a restaurant. If a place is empty Friday at 6 PM then clearly something isn't quite right. To their credit the beer prices are just fine. $5 a beer; and their pecan old fashioned at $13 is decently priced and flavorful, though bordering on too much sweet flavor. Usually my wife won't have anything to do with my old fashioned drink but this night she said she actually liked it. Also to their credit the charcuterie board was good, though void of the liquid brie that my wife and I thought was unique. In its place were quality substitutes but for the most part just made it above average level vs a reason to come by. The star on the board I thought was the fig jam, and the candied walnuts were a great supporting cast. Cheeses and meats good as well. The disappointment of the evening was the beef Bourguignon, which I tend to think as a comfort plate on a cool evening. The plate came out lukewarm, an attempt was made at reheating, and that somewhat solved the temperature issue. However, it did not solve the tough and rubbery meat that I could barely swallow. Not helping matters was the very odd flavoring in it. We also had a side salad which was more edible but basic. The ranch dressing however was probably the most bland I've ever had. Those two dishes sealed a very friendly two-star rating. At an overall bill of $90 plus our $18 tip I would have a very hard time convincing myself to come back. I think they're missing the boat when it comes to happy hour; The people were quite friendly there and I think everyone loves a great place to have a drink at a decent price. But also when it comes to this place I've never understood their desire to present themselves as fine dining but then have French fries as a staple on many entrees. I think the place has lost its way and could use some direction before we give it another chance. Wish them luck...

I read about this place on Yelp and Thank You - it was fab-u-lous! Well decorated with an intimate feel. Great for date night. Let's start with our most pleasant and ever attentive server Kennedy. She was great. Ask for her if you try this place. We ordered the Pan Seared Salmon that came with finger potatoes and asparagus. When I tell you that it was beyond delicious. The salmon was thick, juicy, and, tender. But the best thing was the sauce that topped it. OMG!!! It is a must try. Next was the mussels. Again well prepared and the sauce was so good that I kept spooning it up. They were accompanied by perfectly prepared baguettes with just the right amount of butter. Finally was the green beans with almond and bacon. They really weren't my favorite, but hey you cannot win them all. I would definitely return. A great collaborative staff and amazing food. What more do you need?

Saturday night we met our friends in Parker Sq for dinner at Vieux Carre. Our friends had suggested the restaurant based on word of mouth so we thought we give it a shot Plenty of parking is available in Parker Sq and we arrived for our 6:30 reservation and there was plenty of seating. Restaurant is dark with hard surfaces so sound will reverberate if you have problem with sounds The restaurant has a large wine menu and they allowed us tastings. Once we determined our drinks we ordered everything including apps and entrees I had the grain and chicken salad and the Monte Cristo and my wife had the French onion soup and mussels. All tasted very good , portion size was average. Our friends shared the creme brulee - they found it disappointing, not creamy I do realize they are currently in a soft opening so we hope the restaurant succeeds. That said at this price point more variety on the menu and complimentary table snacks would be a suggestion

From the time we walked in the door we were greeted and seated immediately, then a pleasant surprise of relaxing jazz musicians playing. I was impressed a charming, intimate beautifully decorated French Restaurant. The extensive beverage menu was a plus as well. I ordered the Monte Cristo I was torn between two items our phenomenal waiter Christopher was exceptionally knowledgeable about the choices said go with the Monte Cristo it was thee best I've ever had. My honey and I shared the cheesecake brûlée, the presentation was absolutely wonderful!! It was delicious! I don't live in the area and I'm confused as to why this establishment is not jam packed!!! I will certainly place it in the rotation for dining, and share with friends in the future.

Decided to eat here with my husband for a Saturday brunch. We recently went to France and have been searching for a French restaurant nearby to even come close to what we experienced there so we were excited to come try Vieux Carré...(had to ask how to pronounce this one!) The ambiance is almost cave like with a nice touch of colorful furniture and light romantic atmosphere. Loved the decor and little touch lamps on each table. There was light music in the background followed by a couple guys who came in to play live jazz music which you would expect from a high end restaurant in downtown Dallas! Certainly, an elevated restaurant addition to the town of Flower Mound. We had an excellent server named Kennedy and would definitely return to have her as our server again. Overall, the service and atmosphere of the restaurant was quite nice and enjoyed conversations with one of the managers and also Chef Gregory. The main test is the food of course, which tasted better than some other French restaurants we have been to but will need to return for a dinner experience instead since that seems to be their main focus. Not sure if we can justify spending $50 for brunch here. The restaurant just opened a month ago, so it seemed they are still getting things going. There were no cappuccinos available as they don't have an espresso machine yet, which is definitely a must especially if they are serving brunch. They have super cute patio tables outside too which resembles what you would see in Europe...but you need coffee! I'm sure over time this will be one that we can hopefully return to for a unique enjoyable experience. Their official grand opening is coming up on November 4th so I may update my review after giving it another try.

Great experience! Food was delicious in an upscale atmosphere. It all tasted homemade with its own flair. The waiter was great and friendly. The manager came over to talk to us. The bartender was helpful. The prices were very reasonable. Surprisingly not crowded. I will probably make this a more frequent choice. I didn't notice the 3.5% service fee for credit cards at first, and that's an unusual line item for a restaurant of this caliber. I'm sure it's to cover a credit card fee, but I usually only see that at a donut shop to cover small purchases. Would feel comfortable taking friends, family, and business associates here for the food and experience.

I will start with the good - the Wednesday happy hour for the wine carafe was great and we enjoyed the wine. Our server was kind and attentive and recommended a wine for our taste. That being said, the food was below average. I was warned about the food but I wanted to try for myself and yikes. The breaded cauliflower and shrimp tempura tasted worse than the dishes across the street at the movie theater. Really just all fried and oily and not tasty. We got the charcuterie for 3-4 people, and there were pieces of salami that only came with 2 pieces. There should be at least 4 pieces of each to share. The pecans and the pita that came with this were stale. What saved the day was the blackberry burrata salad (even though it barely should be considered a salad). The pizza was pleasant! We went on a rainy day, so we had to sit inside and the ambiance was not great. Not a wine bar feel. Luckily I was in great company and had a good time with wine! The only time I would ever come back is on a sunny day so I can sit on their nice patio and only to have their wine.

The portions are also huge Our server was wonderful from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often without being overbearing. The service was honestly the best part of the experience. We started with the Sichuan calamari, and this was easily the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly crispy, the glaze had just the right amount of sweetness and heat, and the seasoning gave it a nice kick without overpowering the calamari. It was one of the best calamari dishes I've had and definitely raised my expectations for everything that followed. Next was the tenderloin bruschetta, and unfortunately this one just didn't work for me. The flavors didn't come together, and it was much saltier than it needed to be. It felt like there were too many things happening on the plate without much balance. I wouldn't order it again. For the entrées, the Chilean Sea Bass was very good. The fish was flaky and cooked well, the risotto was creamy, and the sauce brought everything together without being too heavy. It was one of the stronger dishes we ordered. The lobster stuffed ravioli was another solid choice. The filling was generous, there was plenty of lobster on top, and the vodka sauce complemented everything nicely without taking over. It was rich but still well balanced. We also tried the New Zealand rack of lamb. This one had mixed reviews at our table. It wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but I didn't dislike it and again I didn't love it! The blackened exterior and the wine reduction gave it good flavor, but it just wasn't particularly memorable. My favorite entrée ended up being the tomahawk pork chop. The pork itself was juicy, flavorful, and cooked really well. I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple bourbon glaze since I didn't think it added much to the dish, but the quality of the meat made up for it. We also had the strawberry spinach salad, which was fresh and a nice lighter option alongside all the richer dishes. Then there was also a side dish with green beans and almond and again no complains there. Overall, I left feeling a little conflicted. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the portions were very generous. The food itself was a mix of really good dishes and others that completely missed the mark. After such an incredible start with the calamari, I expected the rest of the meal to be on the same level, but it just never got there. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.

While we were there, I observed employees loading whole oranges into the fresh orange juice machine. Several oranges fell onto the floor, and I watched the employees pick the oranges up and place them back into the hopper to be juiced. The only question he asked was, "Do you know how many oranges fell onto the floor?" I replied that the number wasn't the issue. My concern was that oranges that had contacted the floor were being put back into the juicer. I did not feel my concern was taken seriously, and I requested the owner's contact information. I did not receive it. Because I believe this is a serious food safety concern, I reported this to the Highland Village Code Enforcement Division for investigation.
