My boyfriend and I came in here for breakfast, my first plate of food was absolutely disgusting, I would rather eat dog food than the plate they served me worth $14. I had them take it back because it was cold, not cooked all the way, and was not even an omelet.. just scrambled eggs with the toppings thrown on it half assed cooked. We finally got our receipt.. the bill was 37.96 for two plates after we got the second receipt to sign Christina changed/charged us $71.56, we are indeed in our 21's but we are NOT stupid. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE YOU SIGN AND ASK FOR A NEW SERVER IF GIVEN CHRISTINA. Dont expect to get your bread in a timely fashion, and do not expect to have a knowledgeable server. Do, however, expect to have yummy food. May I suggest blackened Monterey Chicken Sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries? Any muffin is a must. Sign up for their e-club and you will receive weekly coupons. When typing in dog friendly restaurants, Mimi's Cafe comes up. Two hours into my families stay, where my dog was quite, well behaved and a service dog; the new general manager Mike Bell was very unprofessional, came over to us as we are finishing, aggressively made scene about our dog staying on the patio my sister as she tried addressing the situation, he pushed her in front of 20 other guests in the restaurant trying to get past her. Completely unnecessary and inappropriate. We are regulars at this location and love the staff and love the company but this new Manager is unfit to represent the brand of Mimi's Cafe. read more

Service is terrible! I have never done a Yelp review before but this place takes the cake,or lack there of really! Ordered meals for a family of four from Door Dash. Missed an entire entree, salad arrived with no dressing, one salad also missing, and the most miserable $8 slice of cake you would ever see. Even with all of that I can be understanding. Until I call to let them know and they leave me on hold for 15 minutes and then hang up in me. Then refuse to answer. When I then call from my husbands phone, they answer but the girl claiming to be management is incredibly rude and dismissive. I know this isn't the franchise's fault but the workers here need some serious customer training. The fact that you're "busy" doesn't mean you get to be rude. Be thankful you are that busy during a pandemic and be nice! Lots of delivery choices out there, Mimi's customers will be glad to know they will be one family less busy now. read more

My grandmother in law requested this place for her anniversary dinner. We had a party of 7 including my one year old son. We were seated and had to ask again for a high chair which they finally brought over covered in brown stuff which was hopefully food. As the host placed it down we mentioned how filthy it was he pretended not to hear and walk away. The check from the pervious party was still on the table and you could tell the table hadn't been wiped down. When we placed the order the waitress walked off before we could order for our son ( which but the way they don't really have healthy options for children anyway, a fruit bowl, or broccoli otherwise it was all junk). I'd give Mimi's 5-stars if their managers didn't always seems so aggravated and frazzled on Sundays. I get it, it's busy and you have a long line of people to seat. But you can at least put on your friendly face, smile in the face of adversity and BE NICE to your employees! On Sunday, April 8 around 12:30, me and my daughter walked in and waited for our seat. In the meantime, we both observed a tall, older, male manager working the front losing his cool for whatever reason. He snapped at his employees when they approached him for what I don't know. He had the grace of Godzilla. He feigned a really awkward friendliness (aka phony) when I approached him to give a party of 2 notice. He was so uptight, unhappy and clearly unpleased. A few folks around us who were also waiting commented on his demeanor. Phew! Glad it wasn't just me. Moving on....the food here is always phenomenal! Also, the service is always on point! Glad the employees here don't mimic their stressed out manager. They are courteous, friendly, attentive, and always professional...even while swamped. MANAGER- learn from your employees. This was our first visit to Mimis Café and it couldn't have been better. We came with friends who have eaten here several times in the past and always have good things to say about it. We both ordered French Onion Soup and the Skewer Garden Salad. The skewers come with Shrimp or Scallops so I ordered one of each. Both were very good. Our friends ordered a Chicken Pot Pie and a Salmon dinner. They both had nothing but good things to say about their meals. We are always looking for new restaurants to try. Some we can't wait to go back and some we hope to never see again. This one's a keeper. We'll be back soon and often. read more

I decided to try Mimi's Cafe for a Sunday Brunch, having not been here for several years. Our party waited at the podium for a total of about 5 minutes with the hostess being tied up with another set of customers. Several servers saw us waiting when two other parties came in to be sat as well, but with no acknowledgement of our party. When the hostess was free, she came over, took two menus (there were three of us) and showed us to our table. Literally not one word was said to us by the hostess. After sitting on a freshly sprayed but not wiped table for another 5 minutes without a server stopping by, we decided they really weren't interested in serving us. After years of driving by Mimi's (usually in Albuquerque, NM), we finally stopped for lunch at the location on Bell in Glendale, AZ. I wish we would have long before. I ordered the Quiche Florentine and my husband had the Chicken Parmigiana. Wow, were we both pleasantly surprised! We were pleased with the speed of service (we went at lunchtime), the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere is very cozy and clean. The prices seemed to be pretty typical. Haven't been to Mimi's in some time. 8:00 pm and the place is empty. I had the pot roast. Very disappointing. The portion is great but it's so darn dry. Served with the most bland green beans I've ever had and mashed potatoes were the same. They serve a red wine gravy over the top of the roast and potatoes but Red wine gravy's have an inherent dry texture. The price point at 16.99 is terrible. You can get the same meal at Denny's that is much much better in every way for 12.99. I kinda feel like the entire menu should be revamped. read more

Like eating tasteless gravy or hospital food. A basket of two rolls and two small squares of pumpkin bread were placed on the table. Rolls were also tasteless and very dense. But the pumpkin bread was awesome, no wonder they are not as generous with them. My husband had the roast beef au jours........the au jours was so greasy you could see grease bubbles floating.The roast beef tasted processed. I will not return. Amazing experience! We came to Mimi's for breakfast on Saturday and had a great time. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet with the pineapple upside down muffin and my guest got the salmon Benedict and we were very impressed. The staff was very polite. We had the large mimosas, the berry mimosa was amazing! The manager came and talked to us and found out it was our first time there and gave us a free muffin to take home. Then the place is practically empty and the hostess seats us in a booth with the torn up seats covered with duct tape. We had to ask to move to a little less torn up seat. Also splattered of food on blinds. Then we each have a coupon that says one per ticket. We are paying separate and the waitress says it's one per table. After we show her she decides to Check with manager and comes back and says we were correct. Then the food. The butter spread tasted like freezer burn and my potatos...yuck tasted like they cooked in very old oil. Omlette was good except for being a little over done. It's been a long time since we've been to Mimi's one of our favorite restaurants in the past. Many of them have closed and we've moved to a new neighborhood and we're happily surprised to find this one open. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and broccoli while my wife ordered the turkey with green beans and sautéed garlic spinach. I was surprised and disappointed that my pot roast was chopped up into small pieces. This isn't the way it used to be. The gravy was overly salty. My wife's turkey was sliced in thinner pieces than we were used to and her gravy and dressing were also salty. I'm not sure if it's just a chef that doesn't have a taste to know that he's put too much salt in the food or why the pot roast is chopped up. We are willing to come back for another try and hopefully things will be more like they used to be. We noticed they had the same delicious muffins as in the past. read more

Improved value. I've been a regular customer of Mimi's for years but the frequency of my visits has varied. One reason was there was a period where the menu seem to change with every visit and the value diminished with each change. My most recent visit was a shockingly good surprise. I had the Panne Perdu meal. It was a larger serving size and included eggs and a meat item all for the price I paid previously for just the Panne Perdu. Wednesday was my very first time visiting Mimi's Cafe in Glendale, Arizona and I have to say I'm highly disappointed. I am from Missouri and am visiting my grandparents and reuniting with my cousin who I have not seen in nearly 17 years. My grandma has been eagerly telling us about Mimi's Cafe and the delicious chicken pot pie since booking our trip, which has been at least six months. My cousin and I, along with our grandparents arrived at Mimi's around 6:10pm. The restaurant was basically empty, less than ten tables were occupied. We were seated quickly by the on-duty manager in a booth. The carpet around our seating was quite dirty with crumbs of previous meals. We sat for a little bit before a server even approached our table. Before our waitress got our drink order my grandma asked if they still had the chicken pot pie, as we could not find it on the menu. She informed us Mimi's no longer serves the pot pie. This was a tremendous disappointment to us all, as my cousin and I had been preparing for this delicious meal for several months. Little did we know this would be the first frustration of many. After informing our table that pot pies were no longer served, our waitress left without even taking our drink orders. We waited another 8-10 minutes before she even returned. As mentioned earlier, at this time the restaurant was fairly empty. We decided to just get waters. I promise to you that I'm not exaggerating when I say it took another 10-15 minutes before we even got our waters. At this time we were all a little restless, as we were hungry and upset about the absence of pot pies. We ordered our food and two other drinks besides waters - a strawberry lemonade for myself and a Coke for my grandpa. Our waitress failed to ask us about appetizers. Our "speciality" drinks were brought out right before our food, so we weren't even able to enjoy them beforehand. All of our food was brought out at the same time and was hot. Overall, we all enjoyed our meals. The food was delicious, despite our consensus on disappointment. My strawberry lemonade was not stirred though, which made for an oddly separated drink. However, not a single time throughout our entire meal did ANY waiter check on us to see how our food was or refill our drinks. By this time, there were three waiters and the manager on-duty serving. More customers had filled in, but the ratio of waiters to customers was reasonable. All four of us had completely finished our drinks and our meals before our waitress returned with our check. She didn't offer any refills or dessert. We wouldn't have stayed for dessert regardless, but I feel like this particular waitress just wasn't comfortable with her job. I requested a strawberry lemonade to-go during this time. Upon returning to grab our check, she didn't have my to-go drink, so I had to remind her. For this, it took about five minutes more of waiting after she had already taken our money. Fortunately, my drink was mixed together this time. Overall, my first experience at Mimi's Cafe was terrible. First, we were unable to order the chicken pot pie we had came for. I'm curious why this was removed from the menu because our waitress even mentioned that many customers came in and requested the pot pie and left disappointed. Second, our service was absolutely awful. Mimi's Cafe in Glendale needs a lot of work. Update: The general manager of the store we visited called me the following morning, apologizing and explaining why the chain no longer serves the chicken pot pies. She offered my family four entrees, beverages, and pack of muffins on the house. This type of customer service towards my feedback is what makes me want to give places like this a second chance. Update: Upon visiting the Glendale location to redeem our free meals, we were served by Alejandro, who took very good care of us - coming by multiple times to check our drinks for refills and to see if everything was alright. This second visit proved to me that the service we had our first night was out of the norm. I'm glad we were able to give it a second chance. read more

I went in late afternoon on a Sunday. Was greeted immediately and seated. The waitress appeared quickly to take my drink order. After bringing my iced tea with lemon, she told me about the specials that were on the blackboard at the entrance. She also asked me if I had had their new pineapple cup cake. I ordered the French crepes filled with chicken, spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes with hollandaise sauce. This was accompanied with a salad. While waiting for my lunch the waitress brought a bread basket to the table. The French crepes were wonderful!! Everything was excellent, food, service, pricing, friendliness.
