I recently reserved their back room for a luncheon for 40 people. What an outstanding experience. Everyone I spoke with from when I made the reservation until the day of the event was very helpful and friendly. The room set up was great, the service was great, and the everyone loved their meal. It's hard to make everyone happy when you have 40 people, but Mimi's did. As a side note, we only had one wait person and she was outstanding. And frankly, didn't know how she did it so seamlessly. WTH happened to Mimi's. First off Tammy our server was amazing very attentive very friendly and she was working her butt off. You deserve better than this place. The restaurant was extremely dirty and in major need of a deep cleaning and upgrades. The ceiling fans are gross and need to be cleaned. The carpet is extremely dirty and embarrassing. The bathroom stinks like sewer everything is so grimy and dirty. I don't blame the staff or the managers it's the owners fault for not holding themselves accountable for this disgrace. Someone up above please do something for this tired run down looking drab place. Honestly Dennys and McDonalds are way cleaner than this place. Went to Mimi's this morning for breakfast. Yes this is my favorite meal of the day. We had the best server here in a very long time. Wentworth wrote our selections down, was prompt and friendly (even with a mask on). He helped with selections and kept the refills going even though his section was full with large parties. Mimi's Cafe is a chain restaurant with a location in Glendale that I associate almost exclusively with funerals. I've been two or three times for lunch with my family, either before or after visits to Forest Lawn. I've never loved it, but that's okay. It's a functional chain restaurant that doesn't pretend to be anything else. I don't remember anything I've eaten at Mimi's, but we decided to pick up our pandemic Thanksgiving dinner from there and it worked out okay. The package was super bountiful, with turkey and a whole bunch of sides for a very reasonable price. Was it the saddest Thanksgiving dinner I've ever had in my life? Probably. But that's hardly Mimi's fault. Anyway, I expect this place will outlast much better restaurants with less financial leeway. I'll never go out of my way to visit, but sometimes people die and other people get hungry, and Mimi's Cafe is right there. read more

Food was pretty good but service was meh. Once seated we waited a bit before the waitress even came to the table to greet us and take our drink order. It then took another 10mins to get our drinks and order placed. Once the waitress brought our muffins we had no silverware, but after a few mins she brought silverware to us. Food arrived pretty quickly and was quite good. My husband ordered the bacon and avocado omelette. My son had the Santa Fe on Leyte which he said was really good and I had the egg white omelette. The egg whites were not seasoned and were super watery. But with some salt, pepper, and cholula the omelette tasted much better. I also enjoyed the mimosa. My husband and I come here often because I get Buy 1, Get 1 Free Entree coupons via the Mimi's Cafe & I love brunch! If we go on the weekends there always seems to be a wait, but Tip for you! The tables at the bar are open seating and you can walk right in and sit down to eat (many people don't know it's open seating). So we rarely have to wait because we just keep our eyes on the bar tables. I always get the fresh brewed coffee and get unlimited refills. They only have regular cream but you can pay $0.50 cents for vanilla syrup on the side. They have recently changed their menu which is great because I feel like they have a lot more healthy options now! The egg white delight and veggie omelet was really good and didn't feel too heavy. We sat in Danielle's section in the bar tables- she is great, fast, efficient and had great customer service! We love this Mimi's location, the menu has so many options! read more

Usually come here for a good breakfast with my daughters. Was really let down this time. We sat in a corner booth that was pretty dirty, the iced tea tasted burnt or really old, the waitress was nice, but was complaining about how bad the building is and that it has electrical issues that's why the cappuccino machine doesn't work. After about 10-15 min of waiting after we ordered, the waitress came back to complain about having a table that had thirty some people at it and didn't want to go back over there, but don't worry hopefully our food comes up soon. Waited another 10 min before we decided to leave and don't think anyone noticed or cared. There might have been 25 people in the entire building. Maybe everyone was having a bad day, usually my go to spot for a good brunch. Not any more. I would come here as a last resort no one inside seems to care. read more

First time coming here. Came here for my friends baby shower. I guess they have a room where you can hold a party/event. They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. I ordered the steak well done and when I got it, it was rare. They sent it back to cook longer but it took awhile. Everyone was basically done eating. But after my steak was cooked longer it tasted amazing and the broccoli & mash potatoes was good. Just need to add some salt. My sister had the parmesan crusted chicken pasta. The waitress seemed to be in a hurry and didn't get one of the meals right and then the muffins to go was not correct either. Didn't get a refill on the drinks until we were done eating our meal and she never came to check on us to see how we were doing. She would go out of her way to not come by our table it was obvious. I can't believe the chef plated it up and thought it was okay to serve. But if the majority of the staff has an attitude like our server did, it makes sense. The french fries tasted like McDonald's. I used to frequent Mimi's before they closed down in my hometown and never had an experience like this. The tomato basil soup was good, and the artichoke dip itself (minus the bread) was good. Mimi's Cafe used to have the most delicious bread basket you could get while waiting for your delicious food to arrive. I have not been to Mimi's in years and was thoroughly disappointed! I was really looking forward to it! Yes, given it was a Sunday we expected crazy brunch crowds. 45 minutes was the wait time and the only reason...ONLY reason we stayed was because my dad wanted to go there for his 70th birthday! Which Mimi's apparently doesn't do anything for birthdays anyways..... Our server was Sue and she was not a great waitress at all. She was quick to leave our table, never checked up on us to see how our meals were, if we needed refills, need anything else. She asked what we wanted for drinks and my boyfriend said waters all around, he wanted coffee and my mom wanted ice tea. Waitress ignored my dad and didn't bother to ask if he wanted anything else and took off. The wait for the food took awhile (about 25 mins) so we needed refills on coffee and water. A bread basket would have been wonderful! One certainly needs more than 2 little things of syrup for 4 medium sized pancakes and our server never came around unitl much later and we told her we would really like some refills and syrup but now it's too late for the syrup because now we were just ready to leave and we still needed refills! I like to have my beverage with my drink and when I have no water....it makes me not enjoy my food. I would not recommend this Mimi's location at all! I was not going to leave a tip but left Sue 10%. She did mention to us much later she was taking care of a bigger party and getting all their checks together. However, if you're in the restaurant business you'd think someone would have better manners, hustle, apologize for the wait....come check up on us. I would have given them zero stars if I could. I ordered the Thanksgiving dinners for my mother and sister-in-law and when they arrived to pickup, we could not even get them to answer the phone. My sister-in-law is immune-compromised, so could not take a chance to go inside. She got out of the car to see if she could catch a worker and it was just chaos. It's as if the "inmates were running the asylum". They asked her her name at least twice, but never connected them with the order. After waiting nearly an hour past the committed pickup time, they gave up and left. Fortunately my card was not charged, so I did not have to reverse the charges, but we sure should have gone somewhere else. Terrible service and extremely disorganized. The management needs to do something to fix these issues. read more

This was a rough place to rate. Let me start by saying I really wanted to give four stars because the food was great. I had the turkey club sandwich and my husband the pot roast. He's a tough critic and he really enjoyed it. So if you just care about food it was good. I liked that there was a salad option instead of fries. The rest of the experience was meh for me. This was our first time here since 2005 when I was pregnant. Nothing has changed. The inside was a weird mix between a village inn and Olive Garden. I couldn't figure out what style they're going for in there. The carpeted areas were pretty dirty as well. Service was almost non existent and there was literally maybe two tables I could see with people. We did see our waitress twice while there so it could've been worse. Again, if you're only care with stopping is of the food was good then you're safe. Nothing I'd flock back to. Maybe in another 15 years we'll stop again. read more

Wanted to celebrate Mother's Day on Saturday night. Beat the Sunday crowd! Only 1 busboy, 5 waitresses, only seating at 10 tables! 20 minutes waiting to be seated! It wasn't the Waitresses fault! Food was ok. My waitress was at first, mean but changed when my party of 5 were very respectful and polite. I can see how customers take out their frustration out on the waitresses! Manager didn't make themselves know or apologize to customers! The food coming out was slow and had cold fries. They need to hire a ton of people! Put a bad taste in my mouth! I have been going here since I was a kid and I've never been disappointed. This is Ultimate comfort food by far. They also some of the best french onion soup I've ever had. So of course what else you going to get before your meal but the best French onion soup. It was awesome. Whenever I even think of french onion soup immediately I think of Mimi's. Then I had a thought. Hey it's September let's have Thanksgiving for dinner. So I had turkey and gravy with awesome cornbread stuffing and cranberry orange and steamed broccoli and a little bread. Who says you have to wait until November. By the way the meal was beyond awesome. If you haven't been to a place that has really good pastries really great food and really down home country feeling this is the place you need to go to. I know there's a lot of competition for comfort food in the valley but Mimi's is definitely in my top 10 read more

In all fairness, this visit was during a post COVID time and the rating is reflective of the time and service for dining in with social distancing, masks, etc. I used enjoy dining at Mimi's if anything for the yummy hot honey oat bran muffins. Sadly, those were not available with the meal or even to purchase to go. My parents and I came in around 3pm on a weekend, only 1 other diner in the entire restaurant and 1 waitress. My mom opted for a breakfast omelette, dad had meatloaf and I had chicken and waffles. All of us decided the food was just sort of meh, not as good as when the restaurants were fully open and bustling with business. Drinks weren't refilled timely and the food wasn't hot. I feel badly giving this a less than average review, its probably a miracle Mimi's is operating at all in these times. Stopped here for a working lunch with a team mate and I was quite impressed with the service. Our host, a young man, was very friendly and accommodating to my request for a booth. Our server, a young lady with very short blond hair (I wish I remembered her name) took great care of us. She was very nice and friendly while I waited for my team mate to arrive. Some places don't even sit you unless your whole party is there. We never had to ask for a refill, she answered our questions and made some recommendations.
