I'll try and make this as short as possible. Wait time for drinks once we were seated-45 min. Now waiting 45 min to get a cup of coffee once a party of 3 hits the table is crazy. Food. An additional 25 min after we got our drinks. The amount of times our server checked on the table while eating, 2 times . Not the greatest but ok I guess. Our server did not write down the order as we placed it. She "locked it in" as we were ordering. Well, sorry to say. Food came out with additional toppings (not requested) and minus the protein that we ordered. Over all. I hadn't dined at Mimi's Cafe in 2-3 years. And honestly. Now I know why. Food not the same. Service...terrible. Price...not worth the value. To top it off, you have a manager walking the floor not getting any feedback from guests or even greeting guests like back in the day. I had a lovely Mother's Day brunch with my mom and family at Mimi's this past weekend! Not too crowded, not too loud, plenty of free parking in the lot, and the high chair actually pushes under the table so kiddo can eat AT the table instead of a foot away from it! Amazing! We were really hungry, so we didn't send it back, but it was definitely disappointing. Our waitress seemed really busy and wasn't very present at the table, so we didn't have much of an opportunity to bring it up. I loved eating it as a dessert after my breakfast entree plate (Although they serve the muffins early on! It was so tempting to eat them already). My boyfriend got the seasonal menu item of the chorizo sausage omelet. The cheese was layered ontop of the fluffy meaty egg and was drizzled in sour cream and cilantro. It's probably not fair to judge a family restaurant like this on an overcrowded holiday like Mother's Day. Still, here is the scoop. Our son-in-law made reservations for five of us to dine at Mimi's on Mother's Day morning. The reservations were for 11:15. It took over half an hour to be seated, even with the reserved status. That's just how busy they were. There was a line out the door to check in for everyone - whether you were trying to walk in and get on the waiting list or whether you had reservations. We eventually were shown to our table. Which turned out to be portable tables set up as overflow in the middle of the main dining room. They had moved all the regular tables to the side walls and set up at least four overflow tables in the middle of the room. It made for close quarters, and wasn't easy for the servers to negotiate. There's no such thing as reasonably priced food when eating out anymore. Remember when an expensive breakfast was $10 or $11 for steak & eggs? Yeah, me, too. The other breakfast entrees would be no more than $5. Ah, the good old days. In the present day, Dear Hubby and I each had a breakfast entree. He stuck with water, and I ordered juice. There went $40. Because the restaurant was packed, it took some time for orders to come out of the kitchen. I imagine that it was a hot mess of choreographed chaos in there that day! My meal was actually still warm when it got to me, and it was tasty. DH said that his was just okay, though it looked nice. Sweet Granddaughter took a break from playing word games to eat her meal and she was okay with it. Our daughter and SIL enjoyed mimosas with their food, so they were okay with it. No gourmet experience, for sure. The noise level was quite high with so many people inside. I have to say that the servers and hosts kept on pushing through conditions that must have been challenging. The helped make the best of a crazy day. read more

I ordered the seasonal Cookie Butter Espresso Martini and it was strong for my personal taste but I don't drink that often anyway. Came here for a private event and was excited because I've never actually dined at Mimi's Cafe before. Up until this point, I had no idea it was a French-themed restaurant. The decor was cute with little touches of France all-around. FOOD - Corn Chowder: creamier than I expected but in a very good way. Not too much potato and definitely served at a decently hot temperature - French Pot Roast: perfect portion, not too salty, and tender meat that did not require a knife. The carrots were the perfect firmness and the mushrooms were divine - Bread Pudding: quite a miss if you're a huge bread pudding fan. You can tell they baked this in a huge pan but at least the portion size is massive! The whiskey sauce was a nice twist. Overall, I found that the restaurant was just alright.
