California Fish Grill in Northridge, is a seriously underestimated seafood restaurant. Have you heard of it? They have a wide menu covering numerous choices, including lobster (the rolls). I have been here before, but this time decided to give it some serious patronage. And try a different item on every visit, spaced only a few days apart. So on visit one, it was the grilled salmon, with grilled zuchini and rice. As an extra, the grilled asparagus. I was very impressed with all the preparations. Their grilled zuchini with rosemary, is a show stopper. Perfectly crunchy, fresh and bursting with flavor. The asparagus, optimally charred and inviting. On visit two, the grilled prawns, again with the zuchini (cannot stop having it) and the baked beans. Once again, another perfect hit. On visit three, I decided to try the lobster roll. Could they deliver? The bun was soft, buttery, toasted on the outside to impress. Lobster meat generous and tasty. Service here is outstanding. In my opinion, a superb restaurant with a wide array of fantastic selections, that can tackle any seafood competition. This place may not have fine dining ambiance. Not a big issue at all. But the food, the tasty preparations and the service here is very impressive. A place to always remember and keep you coming back.

Lots of options for fresh fish in a casual restaurant. Order at the counter, grab a seat and bring your food to the table. My favorite here are fish tacos. But you definitely can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Placed a DoorDash order on a busy weekend, I didn't have any time to prep a meal at home so I placed an online order. I ordered grilled swai fish, tomato with feta salad and a kale salad on the side. Everything was fresh tasting and delicious. Every meal I've had from this location has always been good, no complaints here.

12/7/2025 - The California Fisf Grill is a national chain restaurant established in 1998, which is a casual restaurant. The Dynamite Shrimp Bowl $14.75 is very good, and the shrimps are tender with a tastiful dynamite sauce applied on each shrimp. The Clam Chowder is creamy and tasty, and Ahi Poke $11.99 is also very good because the tuna's quality is high, and both tuna and avocado are fresh as well as the chips are crispy. The Sea Salt Mango Juice is excellent, and I consider it as the store's signature drink. The service from Jeymi is excellent while observing other staff who are also working hard to clean the tables!

I love that they are included in the Too Good to go app which got me a bowl of clam chowder with oyster crackers, brown rice and zucchini sides all for $4.99! Great deal as the clam chowder alone was worth it. Their fish and chips is just ok for me as they use swai fillet and not cod or pollock. Service was quick and helpful. There is a strong smell inside so when you leave the place you smell like CFG. There's also self served drinks inside. Love the clam chowder

Always a great pleasure grabbing a plate from here!! We know that we can get satisfied getting not only a filling meal, but one that tastes freshly made and healthy. I have tried different plates but lately I got their new garlic butter shrimp and swai combo!!! It came with a side salad (cesar) and I also picked beans. I loved how yummy the different plates are, and I've enjoyed the salmon too! The swai is tender and soft, a good type of fish to satisfy wanting seafood. I feel like I always need rice to feel perfectly filled here, or else the other sides may keep me a bit hungry. Portion wise I think the meat (the most important) have always been reasonable and they are not too skimpy at this branch compared to others. They seem to always be consistent in how its cooked too which is a great plus!! Free parking lot, easy spaces to find, next to a nice apartment community.

The Lenten Season always brings us to reflect on our fasting and diet choices especially on Fridays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is just for us who usually try to follow the mandate from church. So, we decided to go to the California Fish Grill in Northridge. Here, we had several fish choices from grilled to fried with Brown, White or Salad combos etc. we decided to try the Mahi-Mahi and combined it with the Roasted Corn and Zucchini, wow! I wish the Mahi Mahi was a little thicker but it was certainly sublime, nicely cooked and grilled and pleasantly prepared. Matched with the delicious Roasted Corn and Zucchini, I felt guilty having them on a Holy Friday and reflecting on my religious and spiritual obligations, simply the food was delish. I also ordered the Cesar Salad which was a perfect combination from my Mahi Mahi, it's a marriage made in heaven. We also ordered two of the Kid Approved Battered Fish for the babies and they finished them all with gusto. All these came with drinks, cola, lemonade or Apple Juice. But the best of all was the customer service we got from Mr. Basson who was one of those who helped us navigate the ordering process. I'd say, he certainly is the Global Ambassador of this brand and took the time to help us made our best choices for the food that was certainly perfect for us.

Nice workers and plenty of space for seating. Good tacos and sides. I would come back again.

California Fish Grill is a favorite of mine and I love the variety of fish entrees they serve. I had a strange experience on my first visit where the front of house staff couldn't locate my online order but I didn't let that deter me. I enjoy the roasted zucchini and rice with garlic buttered fish proteins. I typically order either Mahi Mahi or salmon. Both are an excellent choice. I've also had the shrimp skewer but prefer to have the sauce on the side. I've found that if it's prepared with the sauce, it's completely drowning in it, and it's no longer really "healthy" to begin with. The restaurant itself is always fairly clean and it's located in a plaza with ample parking. If the online order process is done correctly, there are generally no issues on my end and I highly recommend this location. (10/50--2025)

Fish restaurant in the new plaza built on Nordhoff across from the toyota dealership and located next to the new apartments. They have the usual fare of grilled fish, fish and chips, tacos, starters (yum to clam chowder) etc. can't go wrong with the classic fish and chips with options for 2 or 3 pieces. They also have specialty fries called dynamite - which is just extra seasoning. You can order via an employee at the counter or input your order on a tablet. Lots of seating and place is clean. Not bad if you needed to eat there.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very attentive, which made the experience a good start right away. I ordered the two-meat burrito, which normally comes filled with rice, beans, and your choice of meats. I asked for no beans and they had no problem accommodating that. The burrito came out in just a few minutes, which made sense once I saw the size. At around $17, it was definitely on the smaller side for the price. That said, the fresh salsa bar is a big highlight. I loaded up on the pico de gallo, which was finely diced, well seasoned, and really fresh. The green salsa was also excellent--nice heat with a smoky flavor that stood out. On its own, the burrito was good but not worth the price. Once I added the pico and green salsa, it was much better and left me craving more. Unfortunately, I'm giving this a 3-star rating due to the lack of value, but that's not to take away from the great taste and excellent service.

In a city where Mexican food is probably the primary dining option; one might think that it is all…read morethe same: that a taco here is the same as a taco there. This line of thinking is completely false as each region and state in Mexico has distinct flavors, cultural preparations and unique ingredients. Luckily in the City of Angels; we have access to all of these styles whereas everyone can pick and choose their favorite! I was in the North Hills/Mission Hills area and decided Mexican was going to be the meal of the day - and thanks to the trusty Yelp app: Tacos al Tijuanense was the winner to satisfy my hunger pang. If you are a longtime LA resident or born-and-raised within the city limits and can swear to Tacos al Tijuanense sounding familiar/remembering that it was a food truck... Then your memory doesn't deceive you. Tacos al Tijuanense birthed as a food truck in 1987 quickly gaining popularity for its smoked meats and Tijuana-inspired flavors serving tacos, vampiros, quesadillas, birria tacos, etc; loaded with fresh toppings and offering a variety of meats for the protein selection. The LA love for Tacos al Tijuanense caused such popularity that the food truck expanded into brick-and-mortar locations with several now spread throughout the city. The North Hills location of Tacos al Tijuanense holds real estate near the Woodly/Nordhoff intersection in a small strip plaza shopping center that seems half sleepy and half eyebrow-raising. But, as most of us know, the hidden gems are usual the best spots so don't be deterred by such businesses like the sketchy massage parlor next door. In fact, diners will be pleasantly surprised when crossing the threshold of the entrance to find an airy interior with high ceilings, natural light, wooden accents and the combination of a trendy- almost gastropub sticking to the food truck theme (there is even a food truck motif behind the order counter) that feels like a party. Tacos al Tijuanense is not what you would expect from the outside! Tacos al Tijuanense is fast-casual meaning you order behind the counter and take a number to the table of your choice. After browsing the menu, my boyfriend chose a Quesadilla (13" tortilla filled with protein of your choice, jack cheese, cilantro and salsa with my boyfriend picking chicken - $13) and a Vampiro (toasted corn tortilla layered with jack cheese, choice of meat, onions, cilantro and salsa with al pastor - $3). For my order, I also went with a Vampiro but with chicken while also ordering Nachos to share with carne asada. When our plates arrived, we were surprised to see the size of the portions. Everything at Tacos al Tijuanense is large and in charge and they most certainly do not skimp! The fillings are overflowing with bright, fresh ingredients, toppings are numerous and the size overall makes everything shareable. My Vampiro was crisp with delicious guacamole that added a refreshing element and tender, tasty chicken. My favorite was my boyfriend's Quesadilla which was gooey, warm and perfect. You can't go wrong with a quesadilla! But we have to talk about the nachos because these nachos are HUGE! This is party size and could generously feed three people. The carne asada was heavenly and the chips tasted homemade. The only slightly "meh" factor was that the cheese atop the nachos was canned cheese and we would have preferred melted shredded cheese. This wouldn't have been such an issue had the canned cheese been in a rational amount but it seemed like a Costco-sized can poured onto these chips! These nachos were hidden under cheese glop! Regardless, they were still delicious. Tacos al Tijuanense holds true to its almost 40-year-old fame with affordable prices, delicious food, large portions giving you a bang for your buck and a surprisingly inviting ambiance. Tacos al Tijuanense is definitely recommended and the North Hills location is much recommended despite its odd plaza placement.
