Sometimes Mimi's is great and sometimes it's awful. In April, mom had a cobb salad that was beautiful and delicious. I had a quiche with perfectly flaky crust. We came back a month later and my quiche was runny. Mom's salad looked like somebody had already eaten from it. We asked the waitress, who brought the manager, and the manager said it was how it always looked. Maybe there's a difference between the time of day, as we went during dinnertime for April and lunch in May. read more

My girlfriend and I came here looking for a spot to enjoy brunch, and my roommate highly recommended this place, claiming their muffins--especially the blueberry muffin--are the best he's ever had. Curious, we decided to go check it out!! We always passed by this place. Coming in, we were pleasantly surprised by the charming, European-inspired (?) interior. It had this cozy, almost French street café vibe, which made the experience feel special from the start!!! The place was lively, with a tempting display of pastries lining the takeout ordering area, all looking delicious. My girlfriend and I chose to dine in and were seated right away, excited. Tip for nut allergies: The blueberry muffin is a safe bet since it contains no nuts--just nutmeg, which is great to know! Our server was friendly, patient, and accommodating, making us feel right at home for our first visit. After a lot of thinking, we both decided on trying the omelets. My girlfriend went for the Bacon Avocado Omelet, which arrived on a large plate and was incredibly filling. I got the Mardi Gras Omelet, and both dishes were satisfying and perfectly cooked. Now, the exciting test of the meal: the blueberry muffins. Wow. They were everything my roommate had promised and more. The muffin was huge, with a crisp, crumbly top and a soft, fluffy interior packed with juicy berries. It was honestly one of the best muffins I've ever had! This Mimi's Cafe consistently has excellent food and great service. Today, Nathan was very helpful, patient with questions, and offered good alternatives when asked. He also kept our water topped up and checked on us exactly the right frequency, not so much that we couldn't talk, but also enough that we didn't feel forgotten. wow i grew up going here and decided randomly the other day to eat here (I thought it was shut down for years) It was hard to decide what to order because every dish was around $20 and we saw several dishes containing 300-500 calories. who's gonna get full off of 300 calories? We ended up ordering the highest caloric food we found on the menu which was a breakfast burrito that said it was 1500 calories. I also ordered a coffee which i didn't drink because it tasted really bad. not just watery, it tasted moldy or fermented. then we finally got our burrito and it was tiny, definitely not 1500 cals and it wasn't anything as described? it had so many ingredients listed like eggs, bacon, pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, etc... my burrito was literally just 70% avocado, 20% beef? and 10% egg. it had no salt, no pepper, definitely no jalapeños. no melted cheese inside with the eggs. we finish our food and my bf asks me if i even felt like i ate which i barely did. our waiter also didn't check on us the whole time so by the time i was able to tell her about the coffee and she wanted to replace it but we were already done eating and ready to go so i just asked for it to be refunded. Excellent breakfast at Mimi's! We had a fantastic breakfast here this morning. The food was delicious--everything was fresh, hot, and cooked perfectly. I especially loved the smoked salmon benidict, and the coffee kept coming. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing meal. Service with Kary was friendly and very quick. The food was okay, honestly nothing to rave about and honestly was a bit surprised that it was just kind of warm. The mimosa flight was a joke, it was mostly juice and definitely not worth it. Have always enjoyed Mimi's Cafe but do not live nearby. Today my daughter and I decided to make the drive and I am so happy we did. Liz was our server and she is absolutely incredible. Super kind and attentive the entire time. I ordered the egg white vegetarian omelette with avocado and it came with a side of crispy potatoes and toast. My daughter had the quiche Loraine. Worst Thanksgiving dinner experience. Ambiance: crowded (can't imagine why), I could not hear my seld think. Front desk girl told us the wait time for a table would be 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, I asked her why we weren't called, she said we had to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes! We instead ordered our food to go for pickup. At least THAT didn't take an hour! Food evaluation: Turkey: tasted bland, rough texture, not enough gravy. Blah! Stuffing: could have been better. Green beans: Disgusting grayish color, mushy. Tasted one then spit it out. Sweet potatoes, weren't. Mashed potatoes: ok, but not enought gravy. Result: not a happy Thanksgiving for us. I will never return to this Mimi's Café location, not even to pick up an uber eats delivery! The one star rating was not earned. It is there because ZERO stars is not an available option. read more

Went to Mimi's this morning because we didn't know what to eat and had a really good time. Liz was our server and she's probably one of the best! She was super attentive, caring and really cool all around. We got the florentine Benedict, coffee, corn beef hash with mashed potato substitution, banana and chocolate chip muffin and blackened chicken and eggs. Muffin came with meal. It was a graduation dinner for 15. So we expected to celebrate our graduate with a fun evening. I dont know if there is only one cook cause it wasnt very busy inside, 3 waiters, took over an Hour Really Over An Hour to finally get our food after ordering-way to long to sit and wait when your hungry. and some of the food was terrible! however; the manager took that off the bill. Today, we decided to have breakfast at Mimi's Cafe and comeback to our old time meeting place. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and whatever, in between. We ordered their popular corned beef hash, eggs and potatoes while my buddies have the pancakes combo and scrambled eggs. I'd say, the servings were just enough for one person per order, their coffee was about averaged too. However, they serve steak combination in all their dining timelines or can be ordered anytime of the day. Mimi's is a go to American coffee house for any of our mainstream dishes and is a little better than some of our regular restaurants like Denny's IHOP etc...if you're looking for a more mainstream options. Their decors haven't changed, a little dated and still share the good ole American southwest ambiance. read more

Made reservations on Monday for today Mother's Day was told we had to wait. We waited 30 mins to be seated. Felt so bad for our waiter who was by himself serving several tables. Also we had to wait to be attended and served after several tables who got there after us. Honestly had not been to a Mimi's in a while and I don't think I will again. We had such a great experience here, and a big part of that was Liz and Michelle. They were incredibly attentive and on top of everything from the moment we sat down. I did see another table that was supplied with a small table fan to shoo away the insect guests, but we were afforded no such courtesy. We ended up giving up on our meal because the flies had caked our entrees. The high price for the meal that felt so worth it on our first trip felt hilariously inappropriate for our a meal that was predominantly enjoyed by flies. Every single sauce was so good. The little cous cous thing in the Mezze plate was so cute and yummy. Then the main dishes. Seven vegetable couscous was great. As a Moroccan, I can say it was a great vegetarian version of the dish. Has the staple veggies you look for in a cous cous. My friend got the vegan cauliflower steak and that was so beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great dish for my vegan friend. Our waiter was so nice and really personable as well. From start to finish, he was there for us when we needed him and we really enjoyed our dining experience because of him. I forgot his name but he's a star. We also noticed that the dress code is very loosely enforced as there were numerous people there with T shirts on. We got there for our reservation about 15 minutes early and was seated quite fast. The hostesses at the front were quite friendly and the wait staff were attentive and mostly nice. One of our servers seemed a little curt at one point, but it wasn't too bad. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I think we would come back, but not for anything big. Also, I would recommend using the valet, it's right in front and they only charge $14 pre tip.

The freshness of the cucumber and herbs cutting through the rich sauce balanced it out. The pan fried pork buns however were rather forgettable. The meat was juicy but I was left wanting more flavour in both the meat and the buns. I also wish the bottoms were a bit crispier. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to try their breakfast menu and other items though. Because peeking at the other tables they offerings looked delicious.

How does Yelp have 4 stars for this place? Are you kidding me? This place was an absolute disaster and should be closed down immediately. The food was awful. It took fairly long to get simple drinks (water and coffee) on the table even though the place wasn't busy at all. The menu photos are exceptional, however what really shows up on the table is a disaster. My son ordered the French toast syrup dippers and asked for no eggs and bacon on the plate. My daughter ordered a kids plate and side of pancakes. When the French toast arrived it came with eggs and bacon, my daughters plate came with 1 small strip of bacon and the eggs were dry and not fresh. An additional kids plate with eggs came just for the side of pancakes. All completely wrong...The syrup from the French toast dippers was missing (they key piece). My daughter almost chipped her tooth eating a piece of bacon. The potatoes were awful, dry, and had rock hard pieces. The manager walked around without ever inquiring on our experience. If Yelp can't get the ratings right then they can't be trusted. You've been warned. Very sad to see this place failing. I hope leadership can move quickly to save this place. read more

I met a friend here last night for dinner. I happened to have a birthday email for a Berry muffin sundae. We were seated immediately and quickly greated by our server, Alliyah. She was extremely patient while I took a bit to make a decision on what I wanted. After ordering she was very attentive and made sure our ice teas were replenished once our glasses were almost empty. I had a salmon dish that had a honey glaze and my friend had the chicken cordon bleu. My meal was spectacular and I am guessing my friends was as well being we both finished our plate. We then got my birthday dessert as well as the butter toffee cake. Both were scrumptious! Everything about this meal was amazing from the food to the service! I am particular when it comes to customer service and our server Alliyah was fantastic!! I will absolutely go back for the food but most of all because of the service given! We went to Mimi's Cafe on a Sunday afternoon it was very busy, but despite that our server Liz was very attentive and made sure to constantly check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed before we even had to ask! The food was delicious and came quickly, she was very respectful and on top of her duties. Even after checking on us I noticed she would go and make sure her other tables were taken care of as well before returning to the back which is a very efficient method for a server. She was very sweet and had great communication, we even shared some laughs and bonded over our ranch obsession and she was consistent with us to the very end. Pls praise her and let her know she's doing an amazing job as a server and her hard work is very appreciated. I would also like to mention Elisa who was very kind as soon as we walked in and gave us a wait time of only 25 minutes during a lunch rush and we were still seated before! The best part of the meal was our waiter Pedro. We were 4 at our table with varying dietary needs and he not only recommended meals that met our needs but was very attentive. We all ordered different drinks and he kept coming to fill them up. We never had to raise our hand for service because he kept a close eye on us even though it was Sunday and it was busy, busy, busy! We came here for dinner this past Sunday. The restaurant was empty. I mean literally...EMPTY! The service was lousy. The server was talking with the guy behind the bar and the two other employees were making boxes where the muffins are sold to go. The meal was excellent. But to have to beg to have our order taken, having to beg for a refill on my pop when the restaurant had no other customers besides the three of us is unconscionable. This was the first time since the pandemic that we actually went inside a restaurant and sat down. It's no wonder so many restaurants are closing because if lousy service continues at this and other places, the owners/managers will have no one to blame but themselves. read more

One of my go to spots to enjoy breakfast, sidenote---the muffins are drool worthy, paired with their tasty mimosas-- When I do get spare time with friends or alone--Mimis is all around a go to for me from the atmosphere, food, and overall a pleasurable experience. In my recent visit my server Cindy went above and beyond to welcome me and made sure I did not hesitate for anything!! She treats everyone with upmost hospitality while the restaurant was pretty busy and doing so while she was training a new employee. I can only hope her trainee will follow in her model footsteps. Tasty food. Great service We came after an event at church and didn't know where to go eat, we decided to try Mimi's Cafe for the first time. From the moment we got there we asked our server Paul if we could adjust the A.C for us since we were cold, he very politely responded yes. He helped us choose things off the menu since it was our first time there and didn't know much. Our food was warm and delicious We were so satisfied with the service Paul gave us. Ambiance is awful. Needs to be remodeled desperately. Service is fair at best. The food was bad to awful. There were 3 of us. We all ordered the French Onion Soup, 2 were good the 3rd one was burnt. 2 of us shared a French Dip Sandwich, it was ok at best. When we got our check we were charged extra for the cheese & peppers. The other lady ordered the turkey dinner. They used to have a great fresh turkey dinner, there was nothing good about this dinner. Didn't even look appetizing. The bathroom has brass sinks that haven't been properly cleaned in forever and were almost black. We will not be going back there. read more

Paul is very nice and helpful on questions we had On the menu. He accommodated us on what we asked for on muffins to take back to our hotel room For breakfast. :) My boyfriend had the pot pie he said was very good but needed to have a little more sauce. My salad was good but not the best I've had at Mimi's. A little disappointed but then again as I get older everything's changing and not what it used to be OMG! I sound like my mother. Not in a bad way it's just change. Years ago Mimi's used to give bread or muffins with meal. Those days are gone! I'd still come back it's always one of my go to's. :) read more

Management Idiocy! We had a coupon for a free dinner. My wife wanted to use the coupon on a $10 entree but management would not allow it. Instead, they gave my wife a free $16 dinner. This makes no sense. Attention management!! On a positive note, Mimi's has enhanced the menu, adding new and interesting items. But they did raise the price of the wine. I ordered steak and eggs. Too many restaurants cannot serve up a steak that isn't chewy but Mimi's gave me a very nice piece of meat to go with my eggs. BTW...why no muffin with the steak and eggs? read more

Do you sometimes feel like you need to slow down and avoid fast food? Well, today I woke up feeling that way. I wanted a home made breakfast but I really didn't have the energy to cook for myself this morning. I came in to Mimi's Cafe bistro & bakery for the first time. It feels like a visit to your grandparent's home and your about to eat.
