Such an interesting take on Korean Fried Chicken. Mimisa was previously located in a tiny food mall and every time I would pass by, the counter seating would be full. So it's definitely nice to see them relocated to Queens Crossing Food Hall with plenty of communal seating. We tried the green grape sauce and it was tangy, sweet, and so unique. I got the corn cheese chicken and the honey butter chicken and I would say they were both delicious! I think the only thing hay caught me off guard was that the breading was thicker than I expected. Usually Korean fried chicken has a much thinner breading but other than that, I loved how crispy and flavorful everything was. This is an intriguing spot for Korean Fried Chicken, their flavors are like nothing I have seen before. I opted to finally try the menu item that got them viral - the green grape chicken. The chicken is as crispy and tender as before. The grapes are fresh, though the sweet artificial grape syrup is the prominent flavor. The coleslaw helps cut some of the sweetness. Definitely not my favorite flavor, but glad to have tried. My friend and I first came inside Landmark Quest mall to see what the hype was about and check out all the unique chicken options that they have. Of course, this place is most well-known for its green grape option, but saw that it had varying reviews and looked very simple. It wasn't as sweet as I had imagined it. The sauce is actually yogurt-based topped with sweet blueberry topped with a slab of cream cheese on top. Again, the cream cheese wasn't melted into the chicken, so we had to rub it on the chicken to get its flavor. But again, all these flavors meshed together really does work and taste great.
