UCLA students are so lucky to have basically a Korean convenience store. They have hot food, side dishes, microwave meals, snacks, drinks, and more. They even have those viral Korean pouch drinks and the ice cup to go along with it. We love how quick and easy this experience was! ig: @cravingswithcat

As a super broke @ucla student, I'm so excited that @minariexpress is open in @westwoodvillage ! This cute little Korean mart has an extensive grab and go section filled with affordable and authentic Korean comfort foods such as dosirak meals, fried rice, kimbap, banchan (which you can sample) and more for under $10. We ordered 6 items to try, and literally everything was SO authentic and well-made, and very comparable to Hmart/Zion market quality meals I've had in Ktown. They also carry an impressive selection of Korean drinks, ramen, snacks, and frozen foods. I can definitely see myself (and other students) stopping by here often! Definitely check out and support this Korean-owned, hidden gem convenience store for some of the BEST casual Korean food in West LA!

This cute mini korean market has the most fresh and delicious food, hot and cold, along with a ton of drink options and snacks! Located central to UCLA it's a great stop for university students looking for a quick bite. Sydney was so sweet and helpful with explaining the different foods and giving suggestions! I highly recommend this spot and can't wait to go back!

    This is great korean food.

Great Korean spot near UCLA! The Jeyuk and spinach were standouts, and everything was delicious. It's also incredibly convenient that you can pick up fresh Korean side dishes (banchan) to take home. Highly recommend for both dining in and grabbing food for later!

Great New addition to Westwood. It's a Korean grab-n-go mart. They have prepared Korean hot and cold food to go. They have Bulgogi (beef) rice bowls, Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), Noodles, various Kimbap rolls, Asian drinks, side dishes, and snacks. Staff is very helpful and service was quick. There is no seating, just grab-n-go. The mini mart is very clean. No public restroom. Give this place a try when you're in a hurry and need something good and quick to eat or drink! Happy Nom Nom!

Super quick and convenient spot to grab some delicious and fresh homestyle Korean food! I arrived right at opening so they were still setting up but everything was really fresh! They have a huge assortment of banchan and premade meals. Loved the kimbap and the sweet chili chicken. They have tons of Korean snacks and drinks to grab as well.

Very nice Korean style convenience store! Right next to Noah's Bagels, it has a nice selection of Korean meals ready to eat, and provides a microwave. The inside is very small though but here are 2-3 tables outside. The staff was very friendly! Prices are very reasonable; we got the tuna bibimbap roll for 10$ which was absolutely delicious! We also got the sweet chili chicken for 8$ Since the package is only chicken it's a good price. But the sauce did make it soggy since it's in a hot cabinet. The ice cream selection was probably my favorite in the freezer which are between 2-3$ (get the matcha and red bean taiyaki) Drink selection is also good!

This is a great spot for a healthy, homey, Korean meal. Everything is prepared to fresh daily, I really like their bulgogi, kimbap, and their dried anchovies. There's tons of variety, lots of different side dishes and snacks. Will definitely be back when I want a quick and good meal!

    Jeyuk Rice

This is my first time trying this place, and I was laughing as I ate the Jeyuk Rice; it's ridiculous that they are selling this as edible. Recently, I heard a famous Korean singer / food YouTuber Sung Si-kyung say that rice is the main dish of Korean food, and this concoction I ate made me agree 100%. Korean rice is known for its moist, sticky, chewy texture; what I ate was dry, crumbling, crispy. The Jeyuk was pretty good, except for the myriad of sizes and shapes, so I thought about giving it 2 stars, but No. It was as if they had haphazardly cut it using scissors by hand, instead of using a chopping machine; I think it would be more uniform through a machine. Also, the place has been noted as a way to make Korean food more accessible in Westwood, but I hope it doesn't give bad rep to the awesome, wonderful Korean food. This place goes into my NO collection.

I love this spot! Great place for quick bite to eat or grab and go! Helpful staff is always attentive and willing to help! Love it and hate it because I can never just grab one item. Microwaves are available if you want to warm up your food and enjoy there. Hot food is also an option here.

A pot of selections to choose from! The cashier was so nice and smiley. And the place is clean.

This place just opened last week and I heard from my friend so I stopped by. They currently don't have a lot of food but I expressed that I was looking for gamtae seaweed and kelp noodle salad. The staff said they could bring them here. So hopefully they will. Even my Korean friend wants them. They partner with Umma kitchen too. I saw the Galbi Jjim package as well. I will buy it eventually when I don't cook. The store is very cute and clean. I will definitely come back. Especially they sell kimbap so you can grab and go.

I stopped by with a friend who lives close to UCLA campus. He told me there was like a Korean mini-market that had banchan and snacks and stuff. I was really impressed with the place after checking it out. It's really convenient for students and even people on the westside who usually have to make the long drive to Koreatown for korean stuff. The banchan looked fresh and homemade, really impressive. They have pre-made dosirak boxes too. I got the kimchi spam fried rice and it was solid. Also got the kimbap and it was good too. We got some snacks and ice cream too. Overall, just a really convenient stop and the food is solid.

We were able to order in the line, and got our food within 10 minutes once we finally sat down. I tried their handmade clam kalgusku soup and beef bulgogi. Both portions were generous. The kalguksu was incredible comforting, with chewy, long, freshly made noodles in a rich, savory broth that was packed with clams. The beef bulgogi was also delicious. It came with a side of salad and rice. The bulgogi was tender, well-merinated, and paired well together with the sides. We ordered the medium bossam, galbi kalguksu, perilla seed kalguksu and spicy pork. There were 5 of us but the portions were so generous, we had enough food with some bossam left over. The bossam was amazing! The best we've tasted. We all loved the perilla seed kalguksu due to its taste and also bc it's so healthy for you. The owner came by to check how we liked the galbi kalguksu since it was a newly created dish and we told her that it was delicious, seasoned just right. Before the meal, as they brought out the side dishes, they brought out barley rice with denjang on top to mix with yeol-moo kimchi. That was a special touch. We absolutely loved the food there. I saved the info so that we can return when we visit Koreatown again in the near future. Highly recommend this place to anyone who craves exceptional Korean food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
