Our Persian rug got soaked when out basement flooded, and the Minasian Rug team handled our situation exceptionally well at every point. We wanted the rug dried out - we couldn't just hang it over a railing bc it was soaking and we had rain in the forecast for the next several - and while many other companies needed us to bring the rug to their site, Minasian said they could pick up our rug that afternoon, clean it at their facility and return it to our house at a date we would schedule. They quoted us a competitive price, their team showed up that same day (on time), their team guys were friendly and professional, and they removed our wet (now useless) rug pad, in addition to taking our rug for cleaning. A few days later, the company called us to schedule home delivery of our cleaned rug. They gave us a tight (30-minute) window - not one of these cases where a company gives you a 4-hour window! - their team arrived on time, and again, the guys were super helpful and friendly. Although we didn't buy a rug pad from Minasian - we got one from elsewhere online - their team cut our rug pad (at my request) to fit our rug's size. All around, fantastic service! These two brother owners were quite literally born to do this business- 3rd generation; the Minasians have been doing this since the late 1800's. Their passion and knowledge for rugs is unsurpassed. They also happen to be two of the nicest guys I've ever come across. I was lucky enough to attend an informational session at their store and came away with more knowledge about the history, making, refurbishing, care, and cleaning of rugs than I'd ever thought possible. We got to see demonstrations of the actual work on rugs as well as how they are cleaned. We got to see a great variety of rugs and were regaled with their storied histories. The event was scheduled for 1.5 hours and the brothers stayed much later than that very proudly displaying their rugs and beaming as if they were their children. There was NO selling at all. Several employees were on hand to help and they all very clearly have a wonderful camaraderie, all like extended close family. They also seem to be involved in community and great charitable causes. I can't compliment Minasian Rug Company enough! I contacted them about 2 weeks ago and Sharron responded, giving me the information I needed to make an informed decision. (Incidentally, we also contacted a few other carpet cleaners/menders who never bothered to respond) My Chinese carpet, purchased in 1982, was in great need of a thorough cleaning and repair. She provided me with a quote and after I sent a photo of my carpet, she assured me they would be able to handle it. Paul came to pick it up within 3 days. Sharron kept me up to date on its progress and about 2 weeks later, she phoned to arrange its delivery. Paul returned the carpet and it's LIKE NEW!!! The work done by Minasian was magnificent. The customer service provided by Sharron was reassuring and incredibly professional, not to mention accurate. The pickup and delivery managed by Paul was efficient, courteous, and extremely committed to maintaining a clean environment in my home. I own an interior decor firm as a side project, and Minasian is the only place I would ever take a rug to be cleaned, repaired, or restored. They have done everything from removing red wine from white silk to re-weaving worn patches of one of a kind Tabriz Rugs for myself as well as clients. I didn't actually buy a rug here. My boyfriend got thrown off the road on his bike by a driver who didn't realize his truck trailer was a lot wider than his truck, and the owner (?) of Minasian came out and offered to store our bikes in the store so they wouldn't be stolen while the police and ambulance did their business. Actually, he may have been the one to call 911 since it happened right in front of the store. He even came out later to make sure the boyfriend was okay (he was) and to offer again to store the bikes if we needed. Not in a skeevy way. Kind of a crappy afternoon, but the owner's friendliness and helpfulness is definitely noteworthy. read more

The work is excellent and frankly I wouldn't want to do business with anyone else. I had a rug cleaned here recently. I was quoted the cleaning price but when I got the rug back, it had been deodorized for an extra $100 without my consent. The rug definitely needed the deodorizing and I paid it but was unhappy that they hadn't called to tell me about the extra cost, which I expressed to Will at the Evanston store. Will apologized very genuinely, said it was an honest mistake, and I let it go. The next day Will called to tell me they were reversing the charge for the deodorizing. They did beautiful work and handled the situation with grace and integrity. This place is a class act. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I wandered into Minasian Oriental Rugs on Saturday to look for a smaller rug to complement a larger rug that I was thinking of buying at another store and was just gobsmacked by the world class service that I received from Miniasian from start to finish! They patiently answered all of my questions and even trusted me to take a rug out of their store back to the other store to see if it would work with it. It did not, so I returned to the store with the smaller rug thinking that I was not going to make a purchase that day. Despite the fact that it was near closing time, they began patiently showing me larger rugs based on what I was looking for. After I found one that I thought would work in my living room I asked them to show me smaller rugs that would complement the bigger one. As soon as I saw them together, I just knew it would look fabulous in my living room! The rugs were delivered this morning and to say they look fabulous is an understatement! Their beauty is blowing me away!! And not only that, the men who delivered them were more than helpful; they went way beyond the call of duty to make sure that the rugs and my furniture were all properly in place. I sent an 8x11' 2-yr-old $$ rug in to Phoenix Rug Care, a part of Minasian, for cleaning, it wasn't returned for over a month & I immediately saw why; the rug faded from deep teal to gray-blue, had shrunk 2" & their retreatment of some stains melted the fibers. It took them more than 4 weeks to ruin my rug & I'm guessing the delay in returning it was because of the damage done. When I called to complain, Phil, the manager, all but called me a liar, loudly denying everything I said. The rug is in far worse shape than when it left for cleaning. I've used this company for a long time & never had a complaint until now. I was promised a call back, but of course, did not get it. They blamed my pets for the damage, which is ludicrous - They knew up front what the stains were & that sure doesn't account for the color loss & shrinkage. Note, this rug had a lot of spot cleaning by me with never the slightest color rub off. I was charged $282.76, supposedly a "sale" price to ruin this rug, which I now have to replace. NEVER LET THIS COMPANY TOUCH A RUG YOU CARE ABOUT. They cleverly hide the company under the Minasian Rug Co. umbrella so negative reviews are not found. read more
