There is no one in this industry like Richie Flores and his team. It's as simple as that. Not only is he an incredibly nice human being, he is as careful with furniture as he is strong. He and one of his crew members moved my wife and I across town and while we're not a family of five, we have our fair share of junk. Absolutely none of it was damaged -- the expensive items were wrapped in furniture pads and blankets to ensure its safety. I could go on but there's really no point. Richie Flores is the guy. I found them on Craigslist, Marcel if that is his real name was nice at first, I booked him 3 weeks before my moving and deposit $25, confirmed my booking again 4days to moving all still good. Moving day, they didn't show up, no call no show, and didn't pick calls either. Finally pick up my call at 3pm claiming he "forgot" his phone at a customer house, and he offered to refund my deposit but rather he declined my request then when I resend again he just let it expire. Came and walked around house quoted us a price of 4-500 hundred dollars. At the end he said it would be 1330.00 plus gas and I moved more than they did. The movers were late and never even did what they were supposed to. I have never been so frustrated.awful company read more

I hired this company last minute to unload. BEWARE. I would not hire this Austin TX company Above and Beyond (512) 290-8998. Long story, but basically, they just left me stranded & didn't complete the job after being paid in cash by me the flat rate price that he quoted & then raised higher. "Marcel" (or Wallace Adkins whatever his real name is) talked very nicely at first, then he tried to change the pricing multiple times. He became aggressive when I pointed it out. He was rushing & very impatient and they (Devin & Stormy & "Marcel") didn't finish the job. He asked to be paid in cash, and he lied, and after I paid him he made an excuse for him & his workers to all leave, & did not return. Then later in the night, 30 minutes after he & his worker all left together "to go get a soda at the 7 Eleven on the corner", he sent me a self serving text (see attached screenshot) saying that his worker Devin was having a seizure at a Pizza Hut nearby and asked me if I could call 911 for him & if I had any medical experience. That doesn't even make any sense. Maybe that's why they don't list the company name in their ads on Craigslist. They ran out with my money & left my items still in the ABF freight trailer. I was caught between a rock and a hard place. The company I bought a new tv from did not actually perform the service I contracted for. So 3 weeks later, on delivery day, I was informed they didn't move furniture. I was stuck! I looked up all warning guidelines to discern what questions, etc., to ask of any mover. I called a number of movers on this site before finding Mindful Movers. I asked all my questions, listened carefully to the answers, and then asked the big question--Can you schedule me in the next day or so for my in-home move? BIG entertainment Center, all one unit, well-made furniture. The answer was yes. Either Friday, or Saturday. I was kept apprised of their shifting schedule, as clients weren't quite as ready, or the job ran longer. But here's the main reason for my "5" rating. I was kept up to date throughout the day; I knew when to expect them, and we agreed on a fluid window of 15 minutes. They made it happen! I remained wary (new wood floors, etc. But as I watched, they planned a different option/direction, and the piece moved smoothly into its new home! We set up for the new tv, the second young man knew how to set up the new tv, and we swapped sets all over. They went the second mile, in my case. Great job, well done, nothing broken or scratched. Richie and his crew were more of a burden than helpful. They broke a mirror and turned it around so we wouldn't see it until we actually moved it(see pic)! They also put deep scratches in an heirloom vanity set that is priceless, broke a shelving unit, took chunks out of a $600 dresser, walls, and a bed frame as well( see pics). They relied on us to provide blankets to wrap things up (figured a moving company would provide those, but we were under the impression they were an actual moving company). We had things labeled with colored tape coordinated with the area of the house they needed to go in but, that didn't matter, they put garage stuff in the bedroom, and bathroom stuff in the garage; such a mess. Would absolutely never recommend him to move anyone or anything. Horrifying and stressful experience all the way around and would definitely move ourselves instead of hiring these people again. After discovering the mirror which felt like the last straw, we called him and he said he would get back to us to make things right but I'm not holding my breath (it's been 3 weeks since that call. Richie and Mike blew our minds with their incredible speed, professionalism and kindness. they had my brother's 2 bedroom apt completely packed in the truck in 2 hours including a huge bed that was a pain in the ass to disassembl, large dresser, three couches and countless boxes. yeah my brothers a bit of a hoarder. they had him moved into his 1 bedroom assisted living apt just as quickly, assembled the pain in the ass bed and never complained once as my sister and I had to decide on the spot what would fit and what needed to go back in the truck. they were so patient! THEN they moved the rest to storage and they had to fit it all into a 10x10 space Tetris style!! it was a sight to behold. not only are they incredible movers , they're also incredible humans! When it comes to moving, I doubt there is one person in all of the Yelp community that is excited by the thought of a move. From the costs involved, to the countless odds and ins one has to take care of moving just plain sucks! Intro : Richard Flores with Above and Beyond With a last second move on the cal. (48 hours to be exact) I turned to the internet in hopes of finding a team that could make it happen. After contacting a little over a dz. people I came across Richard. In fact, it was he that reached out and took matters into his own hands. Not only did he offer a rough bid via the phone (range in possible cost) he called back the morning of the move (within 2 hours of actually moving) while his two competitors did not. When he arrived, he was cordial and to the point. He seemed to know every trick in the book (as they pertained to moving) and was honest when there were additional services (potential increased cost) that he could offer in order to better protect the furniture involved in the move. (I had a $5,000 leather sectional that he moved without a scratch!) All in, I would say that weather you are moving across town or across country, Richard should be your first call. read more

I had Richie, Michael, and his team move me on the 7th of August. He moved my things from the 3rd floor to my U-HAUL truck. Little did I know, they did not use my furniture pads or tie up the things to not move around during the drive to Plano and as we were taking the furniture and belongings most all my furniture was scratched, dented, chipped, or broken. Richie and Michael came to look at the damaged furniture on the 13th, but since the 16th of August he has stopped responding, answering my calls. I trusted them. I honestly liked the name of the company, just to find out that they don't take responsibility and fix what they damaged. How can someone just not do what is right. I am a single Mom and this move was pricey, but just to have my furniture, that was pretty much new, oldest piece of furniture was bought in 2018, damaged and for a company not to give a damn about. Would not recommend these movers. On the day of move , they neither showed up nor attended my calls . So we had to call same day movers, to move our stuff where we had to pay 50% additional charge. Due to the last minute hurry, our stuff was dumped all over the place. Now we cannot find some of our stuff. There was no courtesy call to explain what happened on the move day. Very rude . Immature businessmen should not be doing business. They cause more pain to customers than being helpful. read more

This company scheduled my move last min when another mover cancelled last min. The worker worked hard and made good use of my time which I greatly appreciate. NOW FOR THE NEGITIVE- As they removed my new $250 entertainment center from the truck they broke off the front and side of the base molding handing the pieces to me. When the movers got done I called the boss and asked the exact price so I could go to the ATM and get that amount. I also advised about my broken entertainment center and I would look and see if it was fixable but if not I would be calling him back. I got back home and paid the movers cash advised and they left. A few minutes later they knocked on my door very rude and mad demanded why I called the boss and said I wanted to file a claim of a broken item. I advised my entertainment center was broken and if I cannot fix it, its needs to be replaced he said "Oh its fixable" very rudely. He called his boss who then sent him a text to go back and charge me tax (additional $25). I said no I was not paying that I called and asked for the exact price he gave it and that is what I paid. The boss told him to go take a picture of my broken entertainment center so he did and they left. The following day I see a huge 5 inch deep scratch in the leather in the backseat of my car. I had them place my big screen TV in my car since the truck was so full and didn't want it broken. Apparently he didn't take off the metal brackets and put them down in my leather (Iv had this car 5 months grrrr). I called the boss and sent him pictures. He stated that since it was not in the truck his insurance would not cover it. The scratch is so deep that leather panel will have to be replaced $200 so I am now down $450 in damage. I asked for that in writing from his insurance so I could see for myself where it was not covered. Also I'd like to claim my broken entertainment center which was in his truck and they took pictures to verify. I requested his insurance company information and he has refused to respond. It has now been 2 weeks and I have not gotten any response and he now completely refuses to respond at all. So I assume he is not ensured. read more

No joke, these guys are professional and respectful. I had a lot of anxiety about moving, having two little ones and also considering we don't know people in Austin to help. Richard and his two team members arrived early in the morning, assessed our needs, then got straight to work. They pack with professional materials (I've never seen people use bands before), but I'm happy to say not a single thing was scratched or damaged. We moved from a 1st floor to another 1st floor apartment, and everything went extremely well. I couldn't be happier with the choice. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention, but their pricing was not half as bad as I expected. I did some research and found quotes from other companies, but these guys definitely satisfied my pricing expectations. One way to tell that they're a great company is in the way they spoke to my neighbors, meaning they were very polite to others who has to move their cars, etc. I can't emphasize enough how easy and positive this experience was. Saw an ad on craigslist and got quick reply back. They worked with my schedule, since I worked late and met us at 5pm to move a bedroom set. They were on time, courteous, professional, and honest. They did drop the corner of an item and it cracked, but they didn't hide it. They immediately told us and contacted Marcel. They were so nice about everything, I didn't even care if there was some damage. They were so good, the sell I bought the items from, wanted them to come back and move some of her stuff as well!
