Best thing that I can say is that they did get our online order right. It was 5:50 on a Saturday, I expected to be getting fresh barbecue. We had both bbq ribs and bbq chicken in our order. Both were extremely dry and overdone. it seemed as though they had been kept in a warmer or similar for a long time. We also had a bbq pig (pulled pork) sandwich and a breaded chicken sandwich in our order. Both of these were ok but nothing special. read more

The food is generally good. I think the restaurant needs a good deep clean. There is crud always between the seats of the booths. For some reason, all of the tables are sticky feeling. I think they're clean, but who knows! I'll attach a picture next time we're there. read more

We picked up rib dinners on New Years Eve and cannot say enough about how good they were! This place is garbage. I've given it two chances, far apart from one another. The first time I dumped water out of my salad before eating it. The second time, I ordered the grilled chicken combo and got robbed of 10 dollars and 50 cents. The chicken was SO thin--- all bread (see pictures). I don't know who would put that on the bread and think, "okay." If you're thinking, "who would order a salad or grilled chicken from Mindy's Ribs?", don't worry, my husband ordered the ribs both times and he described them as all bone and so dry. So my kids love this restaurant so we eat out from here once a week. We get a full size chicken basket for my kids to share which is 5 strips. Today I get home with my order and I have the same strips that we normally get five of but instead we get 2 cut in half. I called to complain and was told that they're abnormally large this shipment. That would be fine except they are the same size that they always are. That's a horse s*** reply to someone who eats here weekly! Decided to stop here as we were in the area and this restaurant has been open since I remember and I've never been so decided to stop. We ordered a rib and shrimp combo with potato salad and a Philly Steak. Took roughly 10-15 minutes to get our food but we could understand there was a reasonable amount of people in there being lunch time. We stopped in here after some house hunting during a weekday. Although we stopped in for lunch it felt like we were coming in as they just opened. Only one couple at the tables and it appeared that the place was dead. We worry about this because of the low turnover of food. Mindys salads have really gone downhill. You can't tell the chicken pieces from the croutons. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken pieces were so hard and dry like they had been sitting there for a while. I used to really love their salads they used to put a whole chicken breast cut up and their salads but they don't do that anymore I suppose they're trying to save money, but it's really not worth the money you pay. The prices are a little high for counter service, but not too bad. I was mostly craving sugar, so instead of ordering BBQ, I wasted my calories on the cheesecake. Calories well spent. The salad was mediocre, but all of the BBQ entrees I saw wandering around looked pretty darn appetizing. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll try it out again. Can I give zero stars? Seriously, I was at the Mokena location last night for dinner with my family and it was the first AND LAST TIME we will ever go to Mindy's. First, they forgot my son's fries. Okay, no problem. Then my fries were cold. When I told the server, she wanted me to give her all my food, including the sandwich. When I told her I wouldn't give her the sandwich and to just bring me some new fries, she sent the manager over with a plate to retrieve the cold fries. I picked up the fries WITH MY HAND and put them on the plate. While I am not sure if the fries she brought back were the same, why would she want them back? I'm pretty sure they were the same, and especially with COVID, this is A VERY DANGEROUS policy to use. Maybe the health department should look into this. read more

My cheeseburger was sand like dry and the bun was older then I. The chili had a strange strange sweetness to it. My wife also got an old hard bun but said the chicken was edible. This place is absolutely horrible. I used to come here once a week for years, but they have gotten extremely LAZY with quality that I just can't afford to waste money anymore. The food here is always re-heated, nothing ever is freshly made and if it is please let me know and I'll GLADLY come again (on the managers expense). The cornbread is dry, hard, and packaged. The ribs are always cold and they don't smoke them. The fries are re-fried because they've been sitting out. How can you mess up BBQ? We went at 5 pm and were satisfied with the ribs. Of the other two in our party, one had shrimp and one had chicken. The sides definitely could use some work - fries were pretty bland and the cole slaw was Meh. They offered cornbread, which came out as this institutional little dry loaf of cornbread ...
