    An oyster sampler

Great seafood restaurant on Boothbay Harbor known for their oysters and the best clam chowder. The fried clams strips are so good. Beautiful water front views and 3 deck levels for outdoor eating.

This could have been so much better, but we did not have the best service/server. The location is nice, right on the harbor with a big outdoor deck. The interior looks a bit old and run down. We had lunch here with friends and everything started out OK with ordering, but things went down hill. First, cocktails were weak and not very good. I had a margarita which tasted like straight up mix from a bottle, little or no tequila. Essentially not drinkable. Our friends ordered a bowl of chilli and a shrimp entree, while we ordered a couple of sushi rolls. Our friends food was delivered promptly, but our sushi was not served for another solid 10+ minutes. Server never came, so eventually I went in to find her after 10 minutes went by without food. She was nowhere to be found, so I mentioned this to another waiter, who looked confused, and said he would let her know. A few minutes later she came and said that sushi takes long to prepare. No apology, and by that time our friends were just about done with their lunch, when our rolls came out. All in all, the food was not pretty good, but the experience was poor. There was no excuse as the restaurant wasn't even that busy. I can't say we can recommend this restaurant, or that we would return.

    Shrimp, fennel, and sausage appetizer

I came here with my family for a chill dinner and it was perfect. We sat on their patio (which I recommend) and the views are gorgeous at sunset. The most memorable dishes were the shrimp, sausage, and fennel appetizer as well as the seafood platter. The app comes served in a fresh butter sauce full of spices as well as perfectly grilled bread (wish there was more baguette bread to dip in the yummy sauce). My mom and I split the seafood platter which was perfect for us as it comes with potato's and veggies. You have the option to get it fried, grilled, broiled, or blackened. We got it grilled but wished we got it blackened. I had never had a cooked oyster before and it was sooooo delicious. Mine Oyster is a great casual place for family dinners as they have an enormous menu with so many options. They also have a lengthy wine and drink menu.

The food was on point! Clam chowder, Amazing! Lobster, juicy and plump and great prices. Sushi, unbelievably fresh and the presentation was simply fantastic. If you haven't been to Mine Oyster you are missing a treat.

Mine Oyster was recommended by a town shopkeeper describing it as local favorite. Our visit was for lunch during an off season. As a first time visitor to Boothbay Harbor we tried fresh oysters, blackened haddock and rock crab. Plus award winning chili. They all did not disappoint. If we have a chance to visit Maine we will return to Mine Oyster. However we were warned that July and August can be super crowded with tourists.

Food was fresh fast & incredibly tasty! Pricey but when you're on vacation who cares! Relax enjoy the view and the food.

This is a perennial favorite when coming to boothbay harbor. We were led upstairs, past the downstairs bar, to another bar on the second floor. There were tables outside as well, but we chose to eat inside. We ate a late lunch midweek. We ordered the classic burger, grilled fruit salad, and the broiled haddock sandwich. Service was quick. Everything was great! Fish was moist, grilled fruit was sweet. I would go back again.

    Bang bang shrimp tacos

I wasn't sure what to think walking in because we walked through the restaurant which was seemingly quite quiet at 1pm on a Sunday. The back deck had a pretty view overlooking the harbor and a few tables with people. We chose clam chowder to start and it was wonderful. Perfectly cooked clams in a creamy broth. Potatoes had skins which was different, but very good. We also got the bang bang shrimp tacos and clam plate. I don't know that I'd go out of my way for those two entrees, but they were good. Our waitress was very attentive and service was great.

Come for the view, stay for the view. Peaceful bird's eye view of the boats in the harbor and the buildings across from it. Big windows inside. Nice deck outside. Food isn't wow worthy (other than the roasted potatoes, which were a fabulous, well-seasoned offshoot of home fries), but at least decent. A little overpriced. Service isn't bad per se, but they are severely understaffed. No bartender on our visit, so the servers had to make all the drinks in addition to handling their tables. Tough to find one when you needed one. Weirdest part was when we arrived there was literally ZERO staff on the first floor. Do we wait? Is someone coming down from the upstairs deck? Do we go up? We did and had to ask around whether the place was even open.

They say they specialize in fresh bluefin tuna. So I had the tuna tacos. It was excellent! They were busy but service was decent. They had outdoor dining, but the weather was bad so we were inside.

It has all the credentials for perfection...outdoor seating overlooking a body of water...in this case the beautiful Kennebec River, including a spectacular view of the big bridge over it. Watching boats go by, and people walking in the walking path to get to the park right next door...perfect for people and dog watching. Plus, OysHers allows well behaved dogs at the outdoor seating area. The menu includes MANY varieties of sparking wines, including a mimosa flight, and all local oysters, all sourced from women-owned oyster farmers, plus they have their own oyster farm as well. The menu does include a few non-seafood items, such as the classic Maine red hot dog. The menu also includes some caviar in case there is a need for a special occasion caviar celebration. There are a variety of seating options outside and inside. There are firepit tables with Adirondack chairs, regular tables and chairs, picnic tables, and high top tables. There is a beautiful display of the days oyster selection inside on ice. The ordering process is simple...order what you want at the register, tell them where you're seated (we were are fire pit #2) and they bring your order to you. You can start a tab or pay as you go. Each table has a little sign that says what the table name/number is. We went on a Wednesday afternoon so we did not try the fire pit. It is a great reason to go back. We tried the mimosa flight (orange, grapefruit, cranberry, and lemon) and a flight of oysters (4 different varieties). I couldn't tell you which one was best...they were all perfect. I especially loved how expertly they were shucked and cut loose. Every oyster slid out of its shell without any resistance and each oyster had all of its liquor. They were perfectly clean and chilled and served with lemon, a cocktail sauce and a delicious mignonette. My friend also tried a local canned cocktail, Dasch seltzer, that was excellent...not too sweet, lots of blueberry flavor. I can't wait to go back!

Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for a comfortable and delicious spot for a bite and a beverage.

We started with the fish chowder since they didn't have clam chowder. This was probably the only dish that felt average to me, although my husband really enjoyed it. The prices were also surprisingly reasonable compared to a lot of other places serving similar seafood. For our entrees, we both went with the hot butter lobster roll. It was classic, simple, and exactly what I expected a good lobster roll to taste like. For the price, I definitely think it was worth it. The restaurant has a casual, laid back ambiance, which fits perfectly with the no frills seafood experience. It's a great spot if you're looking for something relaxed rather than fancy. One of the great things about this place is that BYOB is encouraged, and many people brought a small cooler of beer or chilled wine. We brought plenty of local beers and a couple of cans of premixed cocktails. We all agreed that the experience was pretty amazing personally because none of us really knew how to crack open a lobster properly and get all of the meat, so we watched other local people go through their lobster routine. Call me miserable, maybe I suppose. In addition to the merry old fella belting it out on the mic, we had the joy of having some drunk guy in a large group behind us try and out sing him without a microphone. He even challenged the old guy singing to a form of a duel. Anyway I was so off, I cannot remember anything about my server at all. Nothing. I do remember almost screaming and running out.
