Homemade corn tortillas worth the extra wait!
    Travis S.

Discovered this amazing hidden gem while working in Cottonwood. Located across the street from the Marriott I was staying at, this is worthy of road trip for for a night of truly homemade Mexican cuisine that will leave you full and big smile on your face. Also shout out the very awesome wait staff here. Looking forward to returning!

One of the things I've missed most since moving to Cottonwood is a variety of good food with spice. I've also spent a good amount of time on the gulf coast and sometimes I just miss a good boil. This place PROVIDES. My husband and I showed up today--Fat Tuesday!--with high hopes but low expectations... high hopes were fulfilled! We ordered a Queen's seafood boil ($49.99 for food that's more than enough for two people) and it was so much better than I thought it would be. Lots of flavor, big portion, great, attentive waitress. As I write this, this restaurant has two stars on Yelp. What the hell, Cottonwood? I know most of you think mayonnaise is spicy but *broaden your horizons*. If this place closes I'll never forgive this city. We'll be back.

Best Mexican food in Cottonwood! Lovely staff. Cool environment. Playground outside! Full size bar inside! Family or date friendly.

    Kid's playground area

Amazing food, environment, and owners! We were just passing through Cottonwood with two grumpy toddlers and decided to stop here. We tried the Mexican sushi and it was amazing! My kiddos loved their kid's meal and wow the playground was such an amazing added feature. Finally, the owners are extremely friendly and personable. If we lived in Cottonwood we would be at Mineros as often as we could be! What a gem!

We really wanted to like this place. We watched them take a run-down bar and build it into a beautiful restaurant. Beautiful fenced playground out back for kids. Interesting concept, Mexican food and Louisiana seafood. Then we tried it. Very, very loud Mexican music drowned out any hope for conversation. Air conditioning vent blew right onto table, making us so cold we had to change tables. Menu had so many typos that we had to have the waitress find out what the actual menu items were. See photos. We ordered 1 lb snow crab, 1 lb clams, 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and 1/2 dozen sausage. Plates were styrofoam meat trays. Food came served in plastic bags inside a metal bucket, with no utensils to get the hot food from the bag to the "plate". Sausages were actually quarter-sized slices of kielbasa. Corn was 1/2 ear of previously frozen corn on the cob. Potatoes were red skinned, very undercooked. Clams were littleneck, but most shells were empty. Snow crab was ok. Clarified butter had to be ordered at an additional charge. I am reasonably certain it was not true butter. Couldn't get salt to come out of the shakers. The table next to us asked the waitress if all the seafood was fresh, and she said it was. (It clearly is previously frozen). When they asked the waitress how often they get their seafood delivered, she said, "Every Monday morning." As we were here on Saturday night, I am truly thankful it was frozen! The final straw was when we paid the bill. It took the waitress 15 minutes to return with my credit card, and on the bill was an ADDITIONAL $1.63 charge for using a card! We paid the bill, including a 20% tip for the waitress, and promptly went out for a pizza.

Our waiter Nathan was training Eric and they were both very nice. Nathan gave a breakdown of the specials and suggested a few of his favorites. My friend is gluten sensitive and Nathan made.sure to advise her of the GF menu options. I ordered the Goat Cheese Brie which was amazing. I could have eaten that as my meal. I've never had anything so delicious. For my entree I ordered the Desert Blue Burger and it was excellent. It came out beautifully plated and was served hot and fresh. The fries were piled high on the plate, so needless to say the portions were plenty. I look forward to returning to try more of the menu items.

Traveling back to Arizona, we knew we had to return, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. It's the kind of dish you think about long after the meal is over. What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. The staff consistently go above and beyond, creating an experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. And Michael, the manager, is exceptional--so accommodating, attentive, and genuinely invested in making every guest feel taken care of. It's rare to find a restaurant that delivers this level of quality and consistency twice, let alone make you want to keep coming back. Without a doubt, one of the greatest dining experiences in the USA. We'll absolutely be back again.

Wow, wow, wow! We've visited Manzanita Restaurant twice now and both times have been…read moreextraordinarily memorable! The owners, Suzanne & Randy, have created a special dining experience in the heart of Verde Valley Wine Country. This hidden gem offers an eclectic menu that truly sets it apart from anything else in the area. To steal my wife's description, "Manzanita Restaurant is a culinary oasis in the middle of nowhere, where flavors collide, and memories are made." SERVICE: The staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's obvious that they take pride in ensuring a memorable dining experience. We couldn't have felt more welcome or had better dining experiences on both visits. WINE: Manzanita has a decent selection of wines by the glass and bottle. It's not the largest, but there's something to pair with all dishes. Both times we had a fantastic bottle of Zinfandel from Geyserville, CA, which paired great with our meat entrées. The bottle price is very reasonable, as we used to be members of that winery and know what they charge. FOOD: Outstanding gourmet game specialties and German delights. We've tried several soups, sides, and main dishes and have enjoyed them all. Soups of the Day have ranged from Pumpkin Purée, Ostrich, to Manhattan Clam Chowder. Salads can be added as a side or as an entrée, including adding Chicken Breast or Grilled Salmon. We've also tried a couple appetizers like the Edamame & Roasted Brussel Sprouts In a ginger soy glaze with sesame seeds, and the French Escargot served in mushroom caps with garlic herb sauce. Main entrées we've tried include an Orange Roughy Special with red cabbage, a Manzanita Salad with Chicken Breast, Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Bison Tenderloin with vegetable medley, Venison Medallions Special with a creamy mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes, Antelope Steak Special, and a Prime Rib Special. There's nothing I wouldn't hesitate to order again. I'm half German and love German cuisine, but amazingly I've yet to try anything from that part of the menu. They have a couple pasta dishes as well. The restaurant is not overly fancy or extremely modern, but it's slightly upscale, comfortable, and the food and service are both stellar. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a unique dining experience, this family restaurant won't disappoint. We can't wait for our next visit!

I've been in Cornville for 4-1/2 years and came here for the first time about a year ago. My review was based off the entire party. This time it's just me. I came for the olive medley app which is an amazing concoction of imported olives, sundried tomato, artichoke hearts, fresh herbs and lovely mild goat cheese. It's served warm with buttered and toasted baguettes and the entire app is absolutely sublime. Learned today it develops from a recipe in California! Tastes like it! I also had the rigatoni with spicy Italian sausage. Large portion (half is dinner later) with toasted bread and fresh Parmesan. The marinara is hit with fennel and tomato bits, so much flavor and the sausage has just the right spice. The sur andes Malbec was the perfect wine. They have a very impressive and extensive wine list, great price points. The restaurant is set above Oak Creek, hence Up the Creek. Ample windows provide bird watchers beautiful views of Cornville natural wildlife. Prices are better than Sedona and this place, while off the beaten path, is every bit Sedona-worthy! While making the reservation I made a note that our oldest son is autistic and non-verbal and his only form of communication so that staff was aware we decided to give this place a try. After spending close to $800 on food for our party we decided to exit the restaurant and that is when the problems began. As we were walking out another customer at the bar a patron at the bar decided to squeal at my son but also yell into his face. When who I assumed was her daughter realized we saw what was going on she covered her mouth and told her to stop. Being adults and understanding of others different situations we decided the best method was to approach the management team and explain the situation. I then approached a manger who was wearing a pink colored collared shirt and explained to her what happened and her response was "that hurts my heart, we do not stand for that and we will definitely do something about this." We waited outside for about 15 minutes to see what was going to be done and once we saw nothing was I went back in to speak to the general manager. This was definitely the worst part of the night. Tiana came out to speak to us and I asked her to speak on the side so that other patrons were not affected. Her response to me after explaining the situation was "since we did not see it we cannot do anything." I let her know that was an inappropriate response and that since it was a private business they could remove any patron for any reason but if they did not want to do that then she could just openly tell me that. I then gave her an example and stated "if I stab someone and you do not see it then you would not remove me?" Her response was "we definitely would," to which I stated that goes against what you just openly told me and she that there is damage from a stabbing. I then stated to her that physical damage is the same as emotional and mental damge just in a different form which she seemed to easily dismiss. She then stated that the first manager I spoke to was doing her due diligence to find out what happened and I then pointed out that that manager was actually waiting tables and we watched her do this the entire time so I was not sure when due diligence was being completed. We went around in circles, I asked her to give me the ownership information to which she stated "the owner is too famous for you to know," but eventually gave me the name which I had already searched for in my phone. At this point I openly stated that she could just tell me they were not going to do anything and that transparency would be more appreciated to which her response was "you are not currently dining in my restaurant so you need to leave my property." We did walk away but I hope that this is addressed and not pushed aside. All that to say, I hope this type of discrimination was not because we were Hispanic (the restaurant was filled with 90% Caucasian clients), because we were from out of town (from California) and mostly I hope it is not because the stance of the restaurant is not that people with disabilities matter less. I hope someone reaches out to me to address this concern and I hope no other family has to be a part of what we went through tonight. Tiana seems to be invested in the business and that is great but should also understand her customer concerns. Update to this review: Called this morning (2/17/26) and the hostess said she was not going to help me with any information, that I was a weirdo, to grow up and then hung up the phone on me.
