I've lived in cottonwood for years and had never tried this restaurant.. What a mistake that was! This place was so great! I can't say enough about the staff here. The women that ran the place & served us was so friendly and engaging. She gave great recommendations on what to order and she was not wrong! We had the FRIED MEXICAN SUSHI and whaaaat!? It was by far my favorite thing I've eaten in a year. Hands down. Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing food. My hubby and I will be coming back as often as possible. We were staying in Clarksdale and were exhausted after doing the Verde Canyon train ride , wanted something near by, saw this place and took a chance and it was great! I had the chicken tacos and my husband had the special carne asada street tacos! They give you plenty to get full. He asked for some hot sauce and they delivered on the heat! The place was very clean and restaurant looked festive, I loved the string lights. They had a parking lot and a child's playground that was gated and connected to the restaurant and you could see through the windows. But our hostess/ waitress was just so friendly and funny, she made our visit pleasant and it was funny having her set my husband right because he was tired and getting grumpy on our 20th wedding anniversary, lol. One of the things I've missed most since moving to Cottonwood is a variety of good food with spice. I've also spent a good amount of time on the gulf coast and sometimes I just miss a good boil. This place PROVIDES. My husband and I showed up today--Fat Tuesday!--with high hopes but low expectations... high hopes were fulfilled! We ordered a Queen's seafood boil ($49.99 for food that's more than enough for two people) and it was so much better than I thought it would be. Lots of flavor, big portion, great, attentive waitress. As I write this, this restaurant has two stars on Yelp. What the hell, Cottonwood? I know most of you think mayonnaise is spicy but *broaden your horizons*. If this place closes I'll never forgive this city. We'll be back. read more

Amazing food, environment, and owners! We were just passing through Cottonwood with two grumpy toddlers and decided to stop here. We tried the Mexican sushi and it was amazing! Went back so second time. I thought this place was great first time there. Well ... not so great. Had shrimp and it was overcooked, dry and burnt. I ordered no French fries. Gave me a ton of them and they were frozen. And basically awful. Fish and shrimp were both overcooked and dry. My first review was Mineros was very good. This time not so. Been looking for good seafood in Cottonwood ever since I got here. I don't think there is any. So disappointing. I might give it one more try but not sure on that. read more

We really wanted to like this place. We watched them take a run-down bar and build it into a beautiful restaurant. Beautiful fenced playground out back for kids. Interesting concept, Mexican food and Louisiana seafood. Then we tried it. Very, very loud Mexican music drowned out any hope for conversation. Air conditioning vent blew right onto table, making us so cold we had to change tables. Menu had so many typos that we had to have the waitress find out what the actual menu items were. See photos. We ordered 1 lb snow crab, 1 lb clams, 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and 1/2 dozen sausage. Plates were styrofoam meat trays. Food came served in plastic bags inside a metal bucket, with no utensils to get the hot food from the bag to the "plate". Sausages were actually quarter-sized slices of kielbasa. Corn was 1/2 ear of previously frozen corn on the cob. Potatoes were red skinned, very undercooked. Clams were littleneck, but most shells were empty. Snow crab was ok. Clarified butter had to be ordered at an additional charge. I am reasonably certain it was not true butter. Couldn't get salt to come out of the shakers. The table next to us asked the waitress if all the seafood was fresh, and she said it was. (It clearly is previously frozen). When they asked the waitress how often they get their seafood delivered, she said, "Every Monday morning." As we were here on Saturday night, I am truly thankful it was frozen! The final straw was when we paid the bill. It took the waitress 15 minutes to return with my credit card, and on the bill was an ADDITIONAL $1.63 charge for using a card! We paid the bill, including a 20% tip for the waitress, and promptly went out for a pizza. read more

DEAD BUGS ON FOOD One star, because half a star isn't an option. If this place isn't a front for some kind to launder money or whatever else, I can't imagine what is. My husband and I have been wanting to bring the kids here because of the play area in the back, even though we've been discouraged because of their so called unique 'Mexican-Louisiana style sea food(?) options. With few new options in town we have it a go. We walked in with our two babies, met by a friendly elderly lady whom when we asked to sit outside near the Playland she mumbled to herself told us to take it easy on her and that she was the only one on and sat us directly next to the register. We looked over the sloppy put together menu, that had no photos of the actual dishes rather printed photos from google. We were hesitant, let ourselves outside, ordered one Cadillac marg and one entree to split between the four of us just to try it. We were brought our cocktail that turned out to be like tequila and ginger beer, we could tell by tastte both being bartenders. We were brought chips and salsa and our dish. We got a couple bites in and realized there were DEAD ANTS ALL OVER THE CHIPS!!!!!!!!! I immediately grabbed the basket and headed inside to show it to the lady. She made so many jokes and did not take it seriously. At the end she chose to give us a check charging us for the 'margarita' and the entree. Because "the food didn't have any ants on it, just the chips" Long story short, all we paid for was the alcohol and will not be returning. I highly advise no one ever goes here and that who ever runs the food and beverage and/or restaurant committee in this town give them a real solid looking into. read more

ZERO STARS!!!!! This place is horrible. The beer was flat and the tequila taste like they put water in it. The best part was the rotten crab legs they served my girlfriend and I. Not only was the rotten crab cooked with all of our other food (that was not replace) but the new crab legs she brought us were also rotten. Horrible experience, and was super excited to try. The food is over priced for the quality, they clearly have no idea what "Louisiana seafood" is even though it's on their sign... they don't even know what seasoning to use, it was over cooked, and the "andouille sausage" was actually just smoked sausage. Nice try, guys. We also tried the queso, which is normally an appetizer, used with a melted type of cheese, but this was just a greasy mess that hardened too fast, and was served as a meal with rice and beans?? And one huge tortilla?!? The only good thing was the chorizo. They have fried food, which they don't even know what type of proper breading to use, and have no cocktail sauce?!?!? Who has fried fish without cocktail sauce? The tartar sauce tasted more like ranch. Half of the staff looks like they have no idea what they should be doing, our young server was very nice though. Worst $80 I've ever spent. Will never be going back. Which stinks because I thought that it was cool that they had a kid's playground. My husband and I like to support new businesses, local businesses. I'm starting off with four stars because we're going to have to go back and try it again. Not sure how they came up with Mexican Louisiana Seafood , but the menu reflects that. I'm not sure how fresh the seafood is and I'm a little nervous about that cuz we do live in Arizona with no oceans. My husband had the shrimp fajita skillet and I had the shrimp and french fry basket. My husband said he really enjoyed it, the spice on the fajita was really good and he thought the shrimp was good as well. I had the Shrimp Basket which was okay , you really can't go wrong deep frying battered shrimp and french fries. They offer you a small bowl of chips and salsa to start off with and it's free and the salsa super hot. We didn't try any of the Margaritas they offer we're not much of drinkers. The inside they did a really good job with decorating , I remember when it was pretty much a dive bar. Outside they have a space for kids with slides and fun stuff and parents can sit out there and smoke while their kids play. I'll have to give it another try and maybe be brave to try the seafood, but I'm sure it's frozen and you just have to make sure how long has it been frozen before it starts tasting really fishy. But everybody should give it a try and support this new business in Cottonwood. read more

Probably the worst meal I have had in a Mexican restaurant. Enchilada sauce tasted over cooked/ burnt. The rice was so dry you could hardly eat it. They only had chicken tacos. Again the chicken was so dry and rubbery you couldn't chew it. Our waitress was clueless, she couldn't answer our question, she did not get our order right and she never came back to check on us. I may have been too generous with three stars, but where this restaurant lacked in class (considering the prices) it made up for in flavor. My friend and I ordered a half pound of shrimp, but mostly because we were confused and less than thrilled with the variety of the menu. All of the seafood comes in either pound or half-pound orders, so don't expect to order a meal, but rather share the seafood out of a bag placed directly on your table. The presentation, in other words, left more to be desired, but I could understand what they were going for; the "Louisiana experience." Unfortunately, in a town such as Cottonwood, this experience is extremely difficult to mimic. Bibs, gloves, a bucket, and a bag. The plates were styrofoam and... I just don't see it. I'm at a loss for many graces toward this place, because while the shrimp was fantastic, the entire experience was just bland and too odd. The waitress was extremely friendly and prompt, but I imagine it's because the place was virtually empty, anyway. I hope they can make some adjustments to the menu and presentation, because I'd eat there again if I could have a meal on a plate. If you want the best experience, bring a group of people (4-8) and get one of the few offered combos (King, Queen, etc), get messy with the food, enjoy yourselves, but this wouldn't be a recommended date-spot. This seems more of a place to hang for a while with good friends, have a few drinks, and be merry/loose. You may enjoy it, but expect the unexpected, I suppose. read more

We were so so disappointed and we will not go back. Cheese enchilada was a corn tortilla wrapped up with spicy enchilada sauce and cheese on top, the chicken in the taco tasted spicy too.
