Honestly debating between 3 and 4 stars, because the food was really good. I came here with some friends yesterday during a very busy time (Sunday brunch). We waited about 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad. This place is HUGE! There's a game room, and lots of seating areas, and I really liked the aesthetic of dark woods, it was an inviting atmosphere. We all decided to order off the Lunch menu as opposed to having the brunch buffet. Right away, I was so intrigued by the "boozy milkshakes," so I ordered the peaches and cream one and one of my friends ordered the strawberry one. My other 2 friends didn't get a chance to order there's because our server ran off as soon as my friend and I ordered ours. My two friends that didn't get to order one had ordered sodas the last time the server was at the table, but she could have at least asked! My milkshake was good, although I didn't taste any peach whatsoever. My friend's strawberry milkshake did have a nice berry flavor, and my other friend (when she was finally able to order her mint milkshake,) definitely had the best milkshake! It reminded me of a Shamrock Shake but with booze. If I come back here (I live in Madison,) I'm definitely ordering that one! Our food came out fairly quickly, however as soon as it came out the server ran away before asking if we needed anything else... we needed ketchup. So that was just a little annoying. However, my patty melt was SO good!! I ordered the seasoned fries for a side and they were a little disappointing as far as fries go. My friends all liked their food as well. The burrito one of my friends ordered looked particularly good. I like how much variety this place has, definitely something for everyone, and they seem to do everything well. Our large family group had reservations on June 12 and we didn't have to wait too long past the time we had reserved to be seated. Our server, Kendra G. did a great job keeping track of everyone's orders. Our food came relatively fast and most everyone was happy with what they got. However, the steaks were not seasoned. We were told that it's because people complained about the salt. Apparently your chefs need to get some training because you CAN season meat without adding salt. So we do NOT recommend the steak to future guests. The biggest complaint our group had was with the paging system. The announcer basically shouted into the microphone. I understand that she needs to be heard over the casino like atmosphere of the game room but not all of the announcers shouted and we're still heard. Why can't the Mineshaft get buzzers like most places have? A couple of people in our group were lucky enough to have earplugs. I would highly recommend  future guests to consider having a pair of earplugs with them if they have not been to the Oshkosh Mineshaft and aren't sure what to expect. All in all my family had a fun time eating and enjoying the arcade games. My one nephew laughed more than most of us have ever seen him laugh. He's terminally ill and unless he gets a particular surgery, might not make it another year. Thanks for making his day. read more

I am being generous after tonight's visit. We have been here a few times. Generally has been ok but some slips like cold food. Tonight was a disaster. Cold food. Wrong food. The right food mediocre at best. I think we will shelve this place for a while as there are many other places that get it right for less $. I think this place is too large to operate well with the labor/supply issues everyone is having. If in the area go to Friar Tuck's or the Roxy. Both always solid. I wanted to update this. While this was a bad experience, I still think the labor and supplies shortage remains a problem for companies like this... and maybe I should not give a negative review. Family and I come here often but we've been realizing how bad the food is getting. Sundays chicken looked and tasted like last weeks chicken. Potatoes had to much garlic. Coleslaw wasn't fresh as it was in containers, liquid settled to the bottom. The nacho platter had no flavor in the beef, two ounces of greace on the bottom making everything soggy. Way better Mexican entrees across the street. Gameroom is usually good but we had so many game issues our last visit. We never play crane games but we tried and realized how loose the tension gets after it lifts. Redemption counter is way over priced and to think I wanted to work here. It would be very embarrassing. Total disregard for the customers. Went for Friday lunch. No masks required, or even the suggestion that they were required. We were led past an empty dining room into another dining room packed with tables and people. When we asked about distancing the hostess said they can't social distance when they are busy. What?? That is when it's important. Watched them clean tables between diners. Used the same rag from table to table, no sanitizing of any kind, just a wet rag. Terrible experience on father's day. Waited an hour for a table because we didn't want the brunch at 2:30. after an hour finally got a lousy table pushed together and all uneven. Asked if we could sit in 1 of the many open tables. Hostess went and got manager who was extremely rude and standoffish. We spent over $80 in the game room in less than an hour. Manager was non apologetic. I would not recommend this place. The food was okay nothing special. $100 hamburgers and fries, appetizers, over priced mules at $7. End up dropping $150 for a lunch and games and for my patronage the manager wants to argue with me about all of it. read more

This rating is an average between the food (2 stars) and the game room (4 stars). Unfortunately, both times we have been here I have not been impressed with the food. The first time I had the Pork Tenderloin sandwich. I had expected a large breaded tenderloin, pounded flat. What I got was something different-not sure what cut it was. The problem was that this thing was so overcooked it was hard and crunch (not in a good way) and the sauce on it was this sweet gravy-like thing that was terrible. Fast forward a few months and we take our daughter, and a few of her friends, there for my daughter's birthday. We ordered 2 pizzas. Both were okay when they first came out although the one with mushrooms smelled strongly of mushrooms (too strongly). It smelled like those mushrooms were well on their last leg, and just this side of being acceptable. But what really got me is how soggy the centers of both pizzas became very quickly. The first few square, along the edge were okay, but by the time we got to the center pieces it had become unappetizing. The upside is the game room, which is a blast. Lots of games to play that will appeal to all age groups, from silly kids games to more mature first person shooters and racing games. It's a lot of fun and with one of their game cards you don't have to worry about trying to hold on to tickets and you can save up for some of the "better" prizes. read more

If you want a place to go with an arcade and a decent bar/sit down restaurant, this is the place to go. We had to wait over an hour and a half to be seated but we passed the time in the arcade and they have a nice waiting area with seating and TV access near the bar. We came on a busy night and still received excellent service from our waitress once we were seated. We could see her running around all night yet we never felt we had to wait long for service, refills, or anything like that. She was great! I think her name was Tara, and she needs a raise. It took less than 5 minutes to get our food from the it was ordered to time it hit the table, that alone told me it wasn't freshly made, so it was no surprise when I put the first bite in my mouth that was lukewarm & SO GREASY!!! the accompanying fries were also lukewarm. Between the 2 pieces of fish, the fries, the one small piece of rye bread & the approximate 1/4 cup of coleslaw, I finished the slaw & my soda. the massive size of the dining room & the bar is impressive & then there's the game room which for the low cost of $42.99 you can get a large pizza, some tokens, Some soda & a pitcher of be beer!! Man, in the past I came here on Sundays and had the absolute best chicken I had ever had, yesterday I was looking forward to that on my way home from a jeep outing, I pulled in about 2 so it wasnt really busy, perfect. The waitress was being trained and she was trying hard, but a little confused, thats ok, we all have to learn. The trainer was following up, so it was all good. The chicken came out and it was horrible, I mean rock hard and dry. I had the trainer over to the table and told her I was not going to eat that, She apologised and asked if I wanted something else, no, not really, maybe just get another order that wasnt cooked to death. She brought out a second order, and it was no better. So she said she would recomend getting something else. I ordered a "cuban" it was just ok, I ate it, I would not ever order it again. Im sorry, this will probably be the last time I stop at this place, it was always was a nice stopping off point for jeep weekends about half way to where I go, but the last 3 times I have been disapointed. Buy one get one pizza on Thursday is the reason I came. The service was okay at best. The pizza was amazing! My real issue is in the suggested tips on the receipt. Even if the pizza was full price, the tips were still majorly disproportionate on actual accurate percentages of the total bill cost (advertised 28% as a 20% tip). I do not think this is ethical business practice so they have officially lost my business. I have worked the serive industry, I get how hard servers work. Went to Mineshaft with a friend. We had a couple of beverages at the bar. I wanted to order at the bar as the fried chicken took longer. The bartender too both of our orders; then informed us that there were no servers for. The bar area. Fine, we could carry our food to a table.... My friend got her lunch, and finished it before I got mine. Chicken was wonderful, but don't understand their approach to service. When I waited tables; we would hold the item that took longer. Both parties could be served at the same time. So disappointed. After over 3 hours of waiting our very nice waitress told us it would be another hour before we would get our food after 10 pm. We left without eating. No one said sorry or even apologized. We did have 2 very good drinks unfortunately one of the bartenders was very rude and ignored us until we complained. We were in Oshkosh last night and needed to eat so we decided to stop at the mineshaft. There were six adults and two kids. The place was fairly busy and the waiter who came over to wait on us apologized upfront and said he was very new and was still figuring out the iPad ordering menu. It took him a few minutes but once he figured it out service was great. It was busy but he stopped back at least five times to make sure every drink was filled and all of our food was good. He even went out of His way to get some extra sauce for our grandson first chicken wings. Food was great and prices were fair. We will definitely be back. Found slip with servers name. Finally had the chance to come here tonight. Already eyeing up to when we can come back. My son and I played games for awhile then got our name on the list for a table then ate dinner there. Was a fun night of being there 3 hours. Games were fun and priced about the same as any other arcade in the area. Only had to wait a half hour for a table which wasn't bad for how busy they were. All the staff was very friendly. Alex our waiter was running his tail off and had great courteous service like we were his only table. Keep up the good work Alex!! Was in town for a show. We went on a Saturday afternoon with the kids. Each kid likes something different so we picked this place because it had a variety of food and the kids could play in the arcade afterwards. The restaurant area is very large and the place was busy but wasn't overly packed. Didn't have to wait to get a table for 5. Decor and ambiance was pleasing. The place was neat, clean, and inviting. It didn't take long to get our drinks and food ordered. Not sure what happened after we placed our food order, but it took forever. Other tables that ordered food had received their food before our table. Food was cold by the time it came out. Fries were cold and soggy. Burgers were luke warm at best and the cheese had already solidified. The tacos my daughter ordered were also cold and the tortilla shells were very soggy. She ended up still eating one of her two tacos because she was hungry. she wished there was more lettuce in the taco since it looked like there was only a "pinch of lettuce" in her own words. Might have had a better experience if the food didn't take so long and if it did take long, at least the food could have come out hot. it seemed like the waitress forgot about our table. With most of us ordering burgers and fries, you would figure that a bottle of ketchup would be brought out or be available right away, but we had to ask for one. Again, we found ourselves waiting to eat. It took about 5 minutes to get ketchup. It doesn't sound long, but when you have been waiting for food for a while and the food is already cold, 5 minutes is forever. We ended up just leaving after eating and didn't stay to play in the arcade since the kids were tired from just waiting. You know it was a poor experience when the kids didn't even complain about leaving without going to the arcade. Didn't even get a chance to give feedback in the restaurant because no one ever asked how the food was or how everything was going like most places. Was hoping for some good food to fill up and enjoy sometime in the arcade after a long day at the show, but had an overall poor experience. Will probably choose somewhere else the next time. So dissapointed in Mineshaft. We've usually had good food and service. I took my grandson (7) there today. The waitress asked for our drink order. He ordered Sprite and I ordered Pepsi. She brought the drinks, then took our order. The food was good and prepared correctly. After I paid and tipped, I noticed that I was charged for his kids meal and an adult Sprite. I asked the hostess about it because a kid's drink should have been included. She asked if he received a full-sized drink. I answered yes. She told me I should have ordered his drink with the meal. Because I didn't, I was charged for an adult drink. I pointed out that he is obviously a kid. The waitress should have asked. She shrugged and said not all kids order a kids meal. I told her that the waitress should have clarified at the time of the drink order.if you see a little kid order a soda, why wouldn't you ask if that should be a child's size? So, I paid 5.99 for a kids meal, and 3.99 for a soda...that he only drank 1/3rd of. I get what her point was, he was served a full sized beverage, but my point is valid, too...the waitress should have asked about the drink size if there is more than one size. Most restaurants assume a kid size unless you tell them differently. It was frustrating that the hostess was so flippant about it. She just turned and helped a different customer after she told me not all kids order a kids meal. She could have at least said, "You're right. I'll remind the waitress to clarify the drink size next time." I didn't need a refund...I just wanted to hear that the issue could be resolved with a training reminder. We were thinking about having a birthday party there and I had grabbed literature about it, but we'll pass. read more
