Great place to visit. Guys in the front are really kind and the food is amazing!!! Only the problem is that it's so crowded so it's hard to find a parking spot. You should better call and order them before you get there.

This is my go to for Chinese food!! I've tried so many local spots but I've never had a bad experience ordering from here. Food is always ready in under 15 minutes no matter when you call. Staff at the register is always super friendly. Prices are extremely competitive - most lunch combos are big enough to be two meals and are almost always under $10. Can't recommend this place enough! ***One thing to keep in mind is that this restaurant is take out only***

Ming Bao, which shares a Plaza with Square Peg Pizza, has been on my radar for a while. A nearby late morning appointment gave me the perfect opportunity to finally visit. Ming Bao is currently takeout only. We ordered the Twice Cooked Pork and Happy Family Lunch specials, which came with choice of soup or egg roll. We also ordered crab Rangoon. I ordered by phone. My order was ready on time. My phone and in person interactions were positive. It's clear that they have a good relationship with repeat customers. I think the Happy Family and Twice Cooked Pork were both above average. The meats/seafood/poultry and vegetables were all pretty good. The sauces for the two dishes were somewhat similar, but the Twice Cooked Pork was a bit saucier and spicier. Otherwise, both dishes had pleasant brown sauces that didn't make much of a statement. The crab Rangoon, pork fried rice and the egg roll were all about average to slightly above average. The outer and inner Rangoon textures were right on, but I prefer a slightly sweet filling, and this filling was not noticeably sweet. I prefer a bit more meat and variety in egg rolls, but it was otherwise fine. The pork fried rice was fairly routine. If I lived in Glastonbury, I'm sure Ming Bao would be part of my takeout rotation. I have similar options that are closer to me that I'm more likely to patronize. Four Stars

Solid comfort food, enjoyed the dishes ordered. Take out only, staff was friendly. Buddhist Delight was good, loved the Chicken Rice Soup, did not wait long for the food, would come back here again.

It's more like a Japanese ramen than Chinese beef noodle soup, but the umami flavor was incredible, making it my new favorite ramen in CT, beating out my previous fav., The Darkness ramen from Tiger belly Chinese restaurant in Granby. Tiger belly's ramen tastes just as good, but it's made out of pork belly. Since beef costs 2-3 times the price of pork, the beef rib noodle bowl here represents much better value. The beef was cooked perfectly, it's tender but no completely falling off the bone (which will cause it to lose flavor), the beef tastes so yummy, well done! Only suggestion, it'd be even more perfect if it had a few leaves of baby Bok Choy!

The front end staff seemed flustered with a few groups coming in at the same time. There's no easy to access menu which lead to everyone waiting in line to order but not knowing what to order till they got up to the register. We did manage to order and food came out at a reasonable rate. We took pics and dug in. The spring roll was good. Had a good amount of shrimp and the peanut dipping sauce was earthy and sweet. The pork in the chashu ramen was tender and braised well, and the noodles were springy and fresh. The rest of the dishes? There were a lot of misses this time around. Chili Dumplings were very thick on the wrapper and lacked flavor and spice, the ramen broth lacked seasoning, the fried dumplings seemed out of the freezer, the egg in the ramen was overcooked, and the sausage special was dense, musky, and old. The sausage was almost to the point of being dangerous. There is good food that comes out of the kitchen, so long as you stick to the noodles only then you should be okay.

Still, Great Wall consistently provides food that is decent to very good, at a fair price. Great Wall's service is very efficient. I live a little less than 10 minutes away. Things usually go like this. I call from from home. Great Wall answers by the second ring. The call lasts a minute and at the end, Great Wall says "10 minutes." I walk to my car and drive. I arrive at Great Wall and my order is ready. That's reliable takeout. I change up my orders a bit, but I frequently order a combo meal with General Tso's chicken, boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice and an egg roll. That's what I ordered tonight. If not for this combo meal, I probably wouldn't order any of these things. But getting these four things together often outweighs the one thing that I most want to order. Pork fried rice's stock was a bit down tonight. It's never a highlight, but today there seemed to be less pork than usual. However, Egg Roll's stock was a bit up. A wash. The boneless spareribs are consistently very good. The pork has good texture and the glaze has the level of sweetness I look for. It's hard to know how to judge the General. The outside is never as crispy as I like, but it is takeout and steam circulates when they close the lid. The sauce has good flavor. The chicken itself is OK. One thing that Great Wall consistently crushes is Crab Rangoon. The shell is crispy and has good color. The inside is sweet and creamy. Great texture and flavor all around. Great Wall is somewhere between 3 and 4 Stars for me. Closer to a 3 tonight. In any event, until another within a 600 second drive can efficiently provide better food for the same price or less, Great Taste will remain my Chinese Takeout Place, 10 Minute Drive or Less Category.
