    Shrimp dumpling
    Becky V.

The siu Mai (which is the ground pork dumpling) had little shrimp pieces in it which is appreciated. Though it had a lot of chewy hard pieces in the meat, which is not preferred. Har gow (shrimp dumpling) was ok Got the sticky rice wrapped in leaf too. All three items together $13 so you have an idea Quick takeout place if you can find parking. Parking is tough in this area and especially on weekends

This simple Chinese dim sum and bakery shop has everything from shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings to rice rolls with shrimp or beef. They also have steamed rice with ribs or chicken. The foods are very fresh and an acceptable substitute to a regular dim sum restaurant. The service was fast, and adequate. There are plenty of seating if you want to eat in. The interior is simple, nothing fancy.

Ming Hui is your typical grab and go dim sum/chinese food/buns place on San Bruno Ave. The beef rice noodle roll is good and comes with a small container of sweet soy sauce, and made a quick grab and go breakfast. I also ordered a box of buns and they were able to package this up within a few minutes. Street parking only, metered and non-metered (further away) on the busy San Bruno Ave.

I came here on a Saturday morning around 10:15am, and there was no line. I ordered the shrimp rice noodle roll, pork ribs, chicken paw, shrimp and chive dumplings and Siu Mai, for about $32 take away. Cash only. I only saw a couple of steamers outside, and most of the items I ordered were out of the steamers. It took me less than 15 mins to get home and the food was already cold. The shrimp rice noodle roll had really small shrimps and the roll was thick. The pork ribs could be more tender. The other items were just ok. I would reorder the chicken paw and shrimp and chive dumplings next time and give the other items a try. The lady taking my order was nice and patient taking my order in broken Chinese. Parking may be a little tough but there's near by small metered parking lots.

Stopped by today to pick up some dim sum. I got an order of ha gow (shrimp bonnets) and sui mai (pork dumplings). In one order I got 4 pieces of each. They were still hot. Although they weren't very big they were just right. Total cost was $7.60 or $3.80 per order. If you sat down at a dim sum restaurant, you'd pay almost $5 Per order.

In search of take out dim sum since we can sit in dim sum restaurants and see the nice ladies push their dim sum carts around. This take out place is solid. Liked - har gow - cilantro and shrimp dumplings: flavorful and had nice mix of ingredients - chicken feet So so - egg custard was not bad but the crust could be better The ladies working there are helpful and nice. Since it wasn't that busy a few of them were working on my order and there was a slight miscommunication on which customer had what. Not a big deal. Overall this is a good choice for dim sum takeout if you can find parking.

Low key location with incredible Dim Sum. I am originally from Hong Kong and I felt like I was instantly transported back. The authenticity of the Dim Sum is reminiscent of nostalgic Cantonese cuisine. Love their rice dishes, bread and rice rolls as well. The Milk Tea is strong and rather sweet, but again very authentic. I like to get a ton of items to go, and enjoy the extra leftovers the next day. I usually ask them to shove it all in one box so it's easier to carry. Price for quantity and quality is incredible. Love the crystal dumplings, shrimp dumplings, pork siu mai, beef meatballs, rice rolls, spare ribs, chicken feet, pineapple bun, walnut cookie. I usually visit once a month.

Pork buns were good- bun were fluffy and pork wasn't to sweet. Would like a bit more meat but it was good. Combination bun: orders but didn't try yet Plain bun: aromatic mom liked them Sesame balls - yummy Cupcake thing was okay - skip.

I've done lots of dim sum from Hong Kong to San Francisco and Ming Hui Dim Sum hits the spot when I crave some Chinese snacks. It's welcoMing +'s: + Fast service. Pre-COVID and currently they are quick to take my order, package my take out, and send me off my merry way. + Cheap. I collected 2 orders of shrimp dumplings (4 per order), 2 orders of siu mai (4 per order), 2 steamed cakes, 2 shrimp noodles, and one green onion roll for $22. + Tasty. Everything I've ordered at Ming Hui is tasty except the egg custard bun. It's unwelcoMing -'s: - Cash only. I really never enjoy using cash pre-COVID and now. Carrying bills and change is so tedious. - Health score. Why is it 75? The Chinese elderly men who used to gather at this place tells me that there is some authenticity and love for this place.

This place is suuuuuuper cheap but the quality isn't too good. We got a bunch of buns to share (bbq pork, custard), sticky rice, shumai (too gristly), and pork/chive dumplings. The fillings were mostly good but not enough inside across the board i.e. too much breading or rice with each order. FWIW I liked the custard filling the best. If you need a quick fix then this place is fine but I think that there are way better options in the Bay Area if you're willing to spend a little bit more.

stopped by for some dimsum last week. staff were friendly, and helpful with my order even though there was some language barrier. I just show them a pictures of what i want from the other yelpers and they get them for me. I am not even sure what the pork patty with salted fish and veggies over rice was called, but I just show them a picture and they got it for me. It was only $7, but their was alot of food, and everything seem pretty healthy. The salted fish wasn't strong enough on the funky and salty flavor for me though, but it was not bad, i enjoyed it. their dimsum stuff however were really good. I like their bbq pork bun the best, it had plenty of meat, it was a sweet and savory flavor combinations, but wasn't too sweet and more on the salty which I like. their hakgao and siu mai were also pretty good. don't exactly remember how much I spent on the food, but everything were pretty affordable, the portion was huge, and most importantly the dimsum was pretty good.

The staff were friendly and super prompt about clearing empty plates and refilling our tea whenever we signaled it was done, which is always great as the dishes just get on coming! We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and several really stood out. The spicy tendon was fantastic, shredded paper thin and swimming in a classic spicy sauce. The spicy lamb dumplings were another highlight, with an incredibly thin wrapper and a super flavorful and not gamey at all lamb filling. I also loved the stir fried rice cakes, which were sliced thin enough to avoid that overly chewy texture, and the stir fried noodles Shanghai style were classic and simple in the best way, with big chunks of cabbage and meat and just executed really (the chefs clearly have some serious wok skills!). Not everything we ordered was an absolute knockout as the vegetable dishes could use a bit more flavor and seasoning, but everything overall was good, and the portions across the board were very generous. The desserts were a last-minute decision and I am so glad we went for them. The lava custard buns were fluffy and amazing, with a molten salted egg custard inside, and the sesame balls had a satisfyingly crispy exterior that gave way to a perfectly chewy interior and sweet red bean filling. The value here is also excellent. We left absolutely stuffed and spent around $30 per person, which felt like a great deal for how much food we got and how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant for 2025, it definitely felt like a special treat and lived up to the experience.

I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. Tonight a couple of wizards were in the process of making chicken potstickers. Even being vegetarian, just seeing how the dumplings and other items are made is like seeing secrets being shared. I love it and it sets the vibe for the restaurant. My order consisted of the steamed vegetarian buns and sautéed string beans. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. The baked bbq pork buns are sweet with a decent amount of filling. The deep fried dumpling is plump, juicy, and crunchy. The shrimp and chive dumplings are my favorite. The spare ribs had a really nice savory flavor from the sauce. The egg tarts were okay. I need to note that these bags are leftovers from the day, so they're not as fresh. But they held up the next day so I was able to stretch 2 meals out of them. I can't comment on service since these bags are only for pick up. But they quickly provide the bags once the window open.
