Under new ownership which means the menu and prices are extremely different. I didn't eat any of the food so I can't tell you if it's any good.

Pricing and sizes as of January 2025

This time, I showed up around 11:30 and they weren't ready yet. They had fried rice, noodles, Chow fun and like 3 options but most of the food table was empty and it wasn't worth trying because of the limited options. They told me it was still cooking. Someone else reviewed this place recently with completely wrong prices (maybe their whole review was false and they only wanted to bash Biden), so I have added prices. $7 for two items and it's been like this for awhile. Last time I tried the food here, it was decent for the price. Had the meatless Chow Fun and a side of salt pepper pork bones. Portions were okay for $7.

TINY SCOOP PORTIONS DOES THIS LOOK LIKE $20 WORTH OF CHINESE TAKEOUT?! 2 protein entrees?! WHERE?!?!

They should change their name to TINY SCOOP after the recent ownership change, not only are the prices more expensive but their portions are ridiculously small now. We bought a $15 1 item with 2 entrees, we selected sweet and sour chicken (it was pork by the way which she had called chicken when we asked if it's chicken) and she only put 5 tiny pieces of it!!!! As the entree protein?!?! That is definitely not an entree portion. Then we asked for BBQ pork and they had beautiful nice big looking pieces but the lady then sheepishly took the piece to the back where we could NOT see, and cut us up literally only 5 tiny slices off the succulent BBQ pork!!! We thought "entree" would have meant 1 full piece of BBQ pork, not 5 literal paper thin slices that were silver dollar sized. Oh and don't get me started on the rice, her hand was literally SHAKING like she was worried her scooping was too much, well, I have pictures to prove it absolutely was NOT too much. We tipped well too, $15 + $5 tip in cash. We used to go to GIANT scoop because, well, they gave GIANT scoops. We would have minimum 2 meals from 1 takeout box previously but last night we literally had to cook up our own broccoli to support the laughable portion we were given. Probably not going back and unless they get their portion sizes corrected I don't foresee the new ownership doing very well. You won't be open long.

Ate the noodles but left the bland, tasteless and unclean fish and shrimp for the trash. What a waste!

Trash! That's exactly where everything but the noodles went. I've been up since 4am (it's 12:40 as I'm writing this review) and was starving so I just put as much soy sauce as I could on the noodles and ate those. Everything was BLAND and flavorless. The fish and shrimp are a joke! It's MOSTLY batter, the fish and shrimp AREN'T seasoned and the shrimp isn't even cleaned all the way. Gross!!! What's more the plate is like $8 bucks but she handed me back $10 from my $20. Sales tax is 8.63% in SF. Sooooo, you're just gonna TAKE YOUR TIP, huh! I disregarded it bc the full moon still has me feeling positive from last nights meditation and my affirmations this morning. Once I got back to my office I was so disappointed. I could've gone to B&J burgers and got a BOMB ASS COD SANDWICH, if I would've known I was gonna end up with this BS! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Panda Express would've been better than this!!! YOU'RE HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!!!

If you're looking for something even more sweet, get the Pistachio Milk Cake, which made for a yummy treat.

With all the hype of the reviews, I wanted to love this spot so bad, but I thought it was okay. COFFEE: 7/10 (Iced Vanilla Latte) SERVICE: 8/10 AMBIANCE: 9/10 COFFEE: 7/10 I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk and thought it was quite watered down. I was not quite a fan of the oatmilk that they used, as it left an interesting aftertaste. I do appreciate how they rotate quality beans and take care in their brewing process, but I just felt my drink could have been stronger and less watered down. I also felt that for the price I paid, the size of the cup was quite small. SERVICE: 8/10 The staff here is friendly and welcoming. They seem genuinely knowledgeable and take time to make your drink right, even when the line gets a little long on weekend mornings. The overall vibe from the team adds to the neighborhood charm. AMBIANCE: 9/10 I love the artwork here. There is so much to look at from left to right and all sides of the cafe. It adds a nice touch to the vibes. The space itself is cozy and bright with cool decor and art, giving it a lively yet relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Seating a bit limited, but there is more seating outside. Parking is not the best.

Saw a friend post about this place saying it was the best jambon beurre she has had in the states…read moreso I had to try it. I agree it's definitely a top jambon beurre and I also tried the chicken caesar baguette sandwich was also great. The cinnamon bun here was also one of the better ones I have had in a very long time so that was a nice treat. Lots of other great looking pastries, sandwiches, cookies, etc, so will have to come back try some other things. It's a small unassuming place from the outside but easy enough to find. Parking on Cortland I find can be a little difficult at times but usually I can find a spot on one of the side roads fairly easily during the day. WIll definitely be back. Staff were quite friendly as well.

I feel like their espresso shot tasted burnt, that's the closest thing I can think of to describe it. I do appreciate that they had a good ratio of espresso shot, syrup, and oat-milk. Their banana pecan loaf was pretty good. It was dense and the edges were a bit dry. I wish I asked them to warm up the loaf. They did have a wide variety of sweet and savory pastries/bites to choose from. SERVICE: 7/10 Service was quick. Staff were chill and friendly! AMBIANCE: 8/10 Ambiance is very cute. It's small inside with only 2 seats and a couch, but there is a decent amount of outdoor seating. I loved the vintage pieces of decor around the cafe. Although I only rate Bernal Basket 3 stars, I would still stop by again and try something different next time.
