Not my first time coming here but i went for the 3rd time to smog my 1978 Chevy el Camino and the guy in the shop didn't want to smog it just by judging it. He told me to come back in a hour which I did and he ends up telling me again that it won't pass. I told him that I came in a few times and it always passed but he just didn't want to smog it. I was so confused. It seemed like he didn't want to waste his time but he sure wasted mine. I went to a different smog spot down the street and it passed like nothing. I wish I showed up to the shop right after to rub it on his face haha. I didn't think this was fair but truthfully putting in this review is the least I can do. Bad customer service and super rude ! This is a family business , you find the dad, sons, mom everyone working...who actually has the licensing to do these smog checks?? His mom? Dad? Sons? All of them work on the cars!! Is that allowed? Basically they are just trying to make money off of you. Their rates are higher than most Smog test in the area. They charge you before testing the car which is not fair because if your car doesn't pass you still have to pay them, whereas other places will tell you up front if your car will not pass. Ie our car needed to be driven on the freeway at high speed for 50miles and he must have known that or maybe he's an idiot mechanic, but he still failed the car and took the money!!! I took it to another place and they were the ones that told me what needed to be done. This place overall has very bad service and policies. read more

I have been bringing my car in for a smog test several times (every 2 years) with Minh. Today it was completed in less than 10 mins! Minh explained that cars of the years 2000 and beyond no longer need certain diagnostic testing. The DMV has changed the testing procedures pertaining to the layers over 1 1/2 years ago makes it and his wife are very personable, industrious and honest. read more

It's across from the corner of Euclid and Broadway in Anaheim. They used to be a gas station also but are currently just a smog only place. The owner's name is MINH D TRINH. He is hard working. He is smart. He is also funny. If your going to get smog done somewhere you might as well go somewhere that has a sense of humor. And this guy is a laugh a minute. He works super long hours and I think he owns the business and works alone. Therefore he works like 7 days a week - all day. And I think he has a family too. I highly recommend this place. He is fast. And he is funny. And everyone needs Smog. And he is Smog only so you don't have to worry about BS. read more

Minh has been a mechanic for 35 years and it shows. Not only that, he is more than willing to share his vast knowledge of his trade. I showed up with the "check engine" light on. He said that it won't pass, but offered to run the test to see if he could find the problem and then we could retest. 10 mins later, he opened the hood of the car and told me exactly what I had to do to make it pass and run better. Not only that, he said I could do it myself for less than $15. The previous day, I brought the car to a different mechanic who said I needed to get the light checked and the problem fixed, which could run anywhere from $100 on up, so when Minh told me I could do it myself, I was astounded. I left to get the tools and materials necessary for the repairs. At the shop, the cashier asked what kind of work I was doing. I explained that Minh sent me to pick up supplies. The cashier gave me an approving look and told me that Minh has a really good reputation among the mechanics in the area for being an honest, knowledgeable, and helpful man. The next day, I showed up at his lot, fixed the problem (after a few questions asked and advice given) 30 mins later, I drove off the lot with my smog passed car. I will be going to Minh from now on, and I will suggest him to everyone who will listen. read more

I hate doing car related stuff at shops because I always feel like people are out to get you. I yelped this place and after Aaron D's review, i thought this place was worth a shot. Pulling up, this place looks pretty ghetto and run down. Its like an old ARCO station with the gas pumps torn out. But like the old saying goes, dont judge a book by its cover. So i left my car there and headed over to KFC for a couple sliders to kill the time. I get back and Mr. Minhs working away getting my car finished. I wont get into specifics, but the man knows his cars. Imagine the automotive equivalent of Dr. House. I basically gave him a few symptoms of things that have been bothering me about my ride as of late and the guy diagnoses the things on the spot. Now being a smog guy by trade, he has nothing to gain by any of this, but needless to say, I got the repairs done that he recommended (by someone else) and the car is running like a champ. Hes really big on referrals and return business, so he gives it to you straight and will tell you what can pass, what wont and what you can do about it. read more

First off I must say going thru smog check's and auto repair there's always that task of finding a proper situation of honesty and integrity. Having dealt with sweaty and straight BS mechanics that basically lie to make that extra buck is the common in our world. I know they got to eat too but to jack people is down right dirty. So after cruising yelp I decide on Minh's. I roll in and within 15 mins my cars in the bay. After hooking it up and tested. WTF I fail!!!! And I start to clinch my fist ready to hear the load of crap all mechanics give you. And the woman working there just says you pay $40 comeback for retest on Fri WTF. I don't charge for certificate. Again WTF!!! Then dude comes around shows my paper says I pass everything except ODB not ready BS. Not knowing anything about cars I think OLD DIRTY BASTARD but he wasn't the cause. But dude told me you get new battery n prob wiped out some sort of reading. Which I had no idea what that was. So here's were it gets funny he says drive your car for few days on freeway n come back. So I do thinking cant be that simple. To reset something. But during the 2 days of driving I called local mechanics asking what I needed to pass smog and can they fix Senors in case I don't pass. I got answers from what he told me to do. To $40 to scan my car. To up to 2 3 hundred to replace ports etc and more multiple BS. So I go back and sure enough just as he said. I PASSED!! Pay my $8.95 for certificate. Done. He could have railed me under the coals. But he was very friendly and gave me advice to keep my running better. Very honest people and would refer based on my dealings. Not very many honest shops around but there one of them. Thanks!! read more

Seems to be a family business. I was in and out in under 15 min and under 49 bucks. But i have a 2007 honda so price may not be for every car.
