i haven't actually been here as my husband grabs takeout on his way home from work but it's is consistently DELICIOUS! we get the chicken luleh, I like spicy but their peppers are beyond spicy so I substitute extra roasted tomatoes instead of peppers- make sure to get extra garlic sauce- they are so very good! Every once in a while my husband will also bring home a gifted drink for waiting or the restaurant just being friendly. This place is worth the wait. read more

Such a gem! The way they get their meat to drip with flavor is beyond what I know. All the sides are beautifully paired as well. It's seems effortless but I know there's a lot of work involved. Worth the wait, money, and hour drive from Orange County. Daydreaming currently. read more

Hands down the best Armenian cuisine in all of California and possibly in the entire world! This place is a hole in the wall mom and pop shop and has been around since 1989 so you know it has character, tons of flavor, and lots of family love. Their ground beef/chicken, beef/chicken cutlet, beef shish pieces, chicken breast and thigh skewers, french cut lamb chops, falafel plate, and mini kabobs are seriously the most scrumptious and juiciest of all time. This little kabob place is a hidden gem in Glendale. So good and so authentic. Glendale has hundreds of great kabob spots but this is probably my favorite because of the quality, authenticity and homey feel. It's like being at your favorite aunts house who's the best cook and who's husband happens to makes the best bbq. If you love middle eastern food, you won't be disappointed. read more

This cozy restaurant is a one-of-a-kind place! My friend recently moved to Glendale and when I visited, we immediately looked up restaurants to try in the area. We came across Mini Kabob and when we arrived, they told us it would be a 2 hour wait because they were incredibly busy with orders rolling in. Yes, 2 hours for a restaurant with only 3-4 tables! So, we were heartbroken, but determined to come back again! AND IM SO GLAD WE DID! FALAFEL PLATE: They have some of my favorite falafels I've had. The outside is deliciously fried, and when you bite into the falafel, it's still moist and flavorful. This plate is served with salad, hummus, and bread (not pita, but somehow a better kind of bread). I'm obsessed and can't wait to get an order for myself next time! MINI KABOB PLATE: Another delicious plate. This one comes with 4 mini kabobs on a bed of rice, hummus, grilled tomato, onion, and pepper, and more of the bread! Be sure to get the garlic sauce if they don't already give it to you! Everything about this dish is so good. I'm not in Glendale very often, but I already can't wait to try more things on their menu. Wow... their food is awesome. My first time there did not expect a takeout fast food-like shop. The food took about an hour to be ready- but it was exceptional... Never tasted Mediterranean food at this level! Their chicken skewers are so tender and humus is soo good. The owner is always very friendly and makes sure we are happy with the food. Tip- always call ahead! read more

I've had this spot bookmarked for a long time and finally went today and picked up the combo plate which has chicken Luleh, chicken thighs and pork with rice, hummus, a grilled tomato and pepper and garlic sauce. Wow... everything was spectacular. The smell of the garlic sauce was intoxicating while I was driving away. It was hard not to stop and just dig in. The lavash bread was so thin and beautiful... I can't eat much gluten so I only had a couple of bites because I couldn't resist. I took a bite of the part that was touching the meat which flavored the bread so nicely! I can't wait to come back again - it's so much food and the to go box was so heavy! I had to stop eating so I wouldn't hurt myself but it's hard knowing it's right there...in the kitchen...calling my name. It was super easy to put in the order - I called to do it, and the gentleman was very nice. Service is super friendly - I picked up the food and he made me feel so welcome. It's just delicious. I'm Armenian and this is like going to back to your parents house. They are opening another location in Silverlake and will serve Mexican Armenian fusion tacos! I can't believe I didn't leave them a review yet!!! Mini Kabob is iconic and lives up to the hype. Armen is SUCH a sweet & humble guy! On my very first visit earlier this year, he was so gracious and excited when I told him it was our first time. He let us try some Armenian beverages as a treat. The chicken thigh kabobs are some of the best kabobs we've EVER had, anywhere! I can't wait to try more from them! Also, definitely give them a follow on social media. Every post will make you salivate! read more

Food is delicious however professionalism and customer service is why I give 3 stars . Also do not order online they will accept the order and make u drive over there just to deny you , they'll start saying they don't accept online orders and that they don't work with any affiliate yet their door is filled with pics of yelp, grub hub etc . read more

Wow I can't believe I've coming here all these years but failed to review this place. In terms of taste, flavor, consistency, service; one of THE best kabob places in all of SoCal. I firmly believe this. Only downside is the famously small size. They're known for their 3-table dining area. But you can get everything to go. It might take you couple minutes more to get your food compared to those mediterrean places at the mall food court, but the food is on a-whole-nother level. read more

I moved to Glendale about 3 years ago and I love it here mainly due to the food and proximity to Ktown. When I first moved to Glendale, I told myself I was going to find the best Mediterranean restaurant in the entire city since that's one of the many things Glendale is known for. Amazing Mediterranean food. You know how Ktown has a KBBQ on every block? That's like Glendale except with kabob shops. I kid you not, I tried 14 other kabob shops before discovering Mini Kabob. Don't believe me? Let me list them for you. -Raffi's -Zankou -Original Kabob Factory -Massis Kabob -Mediterranean Delight -Carousel Restaurant -Skaf's -Cafe Bravo -Elena's -Kabab Way -Panini -Why Not Kabob -Lemon Zest Cafe -Hamlet's After trying each one of the restaurants above.... I knew something was missing. It just wasn't "my spot". I walked into Mini Kabob about 2 years ago and didn't expect it to be so small. I guess that's why they call it "Mini" Kabob (har har har). But don't let the size of the restaurant fool you. I was immediately greeted by a nice young man by the name of Armen and his two lovely parents. I felt right at home given the fact that it feels like you're eating at your Armenian friend's house. That's part of the special charm this place has. I asked what their most popular dish was and ordered just that, the Combo Plate. It comes with rice, onions, a roasted tomato, a roasted jalapeno, chicken luleh, chicken thigh, and two pieces of pork along with lavash, hummus, and garlic sauce. The second I tasted the food I was blown away. In that exact moment I knew this was "my spot". Looking back on that moment now I swear I must've shed a single tear and heard an angelic chorus as an ultralight beam shined down from above. It was a beautiful moment. I consider Armen a good friend now and love his family to death. You best bet I'm getting his family a nice Christmas gift at the end of this month. That's how great I feel about this family and their amazing food. In fact, I have his number on speed dial so I can order Mini Kabob at the click of a button whenever I'm craving my favorite dish in all of LA.... which is damn near every day. I'm probably one of their best customers since I come in at least once a week to get my Mediterranean fix. I love it so much I got it catered for my 25th birthday party so I could share the Mediterranean goodness with my loved ones. When a friend or family member visits me in LA, this is the first spot I take them to. To wrap it up, this is my favorite restaurant in all of LA hands down and I've been to a lot of places over here. Check this place out. You'll thank me later. read more

Not very many family run restaurants like this anymore! The meat and veggies are so so fresh and juicy, the hummus and garlic sauce are to die for, and the cherry on top is the welcoming family that runs the place. My brother and I went for lunch one day and ended up becoming friends with the owners and the other 2 couples around us. Eating at mini kabob is a magical experience. The service and food at this restaurant is truly above and beyond. We went to Mini Kabob without enough cash because we didn't know that the restaurant is cash only. When the owner overheard us discussing this, he asked how much we had. Based on the ~$30 in our pocket, he recommended 2 plates that would cost about what we had. He was even going to knock off a couple dollars so that we could still order food. I was shocked at the service! We didn't take him up on his offer and ended up ordering and leaving to get cash to pay when we got back. When we returned, my partner and I spoke about a pear soda we saw on the menu. We didn't order one, but I did ask the owner to add a last minute Pepsi to the order. When I tried to take out a $5 to cover the drink, the owner told me no and gave it to me for free. Not only that, he threw in a pear soda! I couldn't believe how generous he was. It's clear that the owner sees each new customer as a potential regular and does his best to make them feel welcome. First time here. It's a little small, the menu doesn't explain much. It's cash only. I was a little hesitant at first. I asked the owner to surprise me. WOW!!!! This was by far the best I've ever had. The chicken melts in your mouth. The meats are like slicing into butter. I can't wait to go back & try the Lamb Chop. read more

The nectarines were so sweet and pretty too. The little gems salad was tasty and what drew us in was the crackling' but had a bit too much shallot in the dressing and was not chilled - an easy fix in my opinion. Our entrees were phenomenal. The skin on my Sea Bream was charred and crispy and the fish firm but moist. The rub on my spouse's pork chop was an umami bomb - lovely. Both the sauces were terrific but overly generous. I used an extra plate provided to keep that fish skin staying crispy. The Welsh Rabbit that we ordered as an appetizer was forgot but the server offered us a free ice cream at the end. I woke up late this morning having to run some errands, and while driving to and from Burbank I was struck with the that mid day hunger that we all know and I remembered Mini Kabob. I have passed by this establishment several times over the years using the Vine Street as a short cut between my commute. But today, I had no work, no school, so I decided to pop in. I was greeted by two older men and I asked if they were open. They both replied excitedly "Yes!" I ordered the Lule plate and requested one beef and one chicken. They happily took my order and as I stood there the kind woman offered me a seat. She noticed I was a new customer and asked how I found out about the restaurant and I explained. She was very happy and I was pleased to find out that she, and one of the older men that had greeted me when I entered was her husband and owned the restaurant. We continued talking and she brought my food out to me (I ordered to go). When she handed me my change and removed her hand from mine, she revealed a small hard wrapped candy. It was like magic. Had no idea how she got it in my hand. It was like when your grandma slips you a $20 because she loves you but you don't know how she did it, and nobody else notices it. She kept telling me, "I think you're going to like it" with a grin that only a loving mother could give. The feeling of this place was that of a good friends home, your own, or your grandmothers. I felt welcome, comfortable, and happy to be there. As I exited a young man was walking in and she introduced him as her son. I explained how it was my first time there despite the many times I had driven by and that I was excited to try the food. We shook hands and I was on my way. When I arrived home I sat down and opened the styrofoam box. The aroma took me by surprise and I could not wait to consume the contents in front of me. I lifted what seemed like extra thin flour tortillas to reveal the lule. Beautiful. I took a bite of each. Wow, was the only thing that I could think. I have been missing out on this gem for several years. The food was so good. I cannot even think of another restaurant that I could compare it to. It is genuine home cooked food. Think of your mothers signature dish. Now imagine if it was kabobs. That is what it felt like eating this. I was so satisfied with the quality and taste of the food that I phoned them to let them know how much I enjoyed it. They have gained a new customer, and I cant wait to tell my friends and family about it. Make sure you bring cash, because that is all they accept. read more

ok so, being from NY, we dont have armenian restaurants, and the only time i get to eat armenian food is if it's someones birthday. (which is sad).. so during my visit to LA my cousins could not stop bragging about this kabob joint, which they refer to as "KABOB HEAVEN".. after passing a gazillion kabob joints (litterally), all i kept thinking what is going to make this place so differant from the other kabob places we passed??.. and then after driving for about 7 minuets my cousin finally said the words i had been anticipating to hear.. he said "we have arrived" (with a smirk on his face. we parked the car directly across from the restaurant, he opened the white gate door as he said "welcome to Heaven".. the delicious aroma of armenian cooking smacked me right in the face!! as my mouth started watering, we walked in to a little kitchen which gave me the feeling of being at my aunts house, apon walking in we were immediatly greeted by the sweetest married couple i have ever met!! they were awesome!!! so anyway i ordered thebeef shish kabob plate, all in all everything was ready in about 35 to 40 mins, but time flew by as we were being entertained by the owner himself, Hovik. as we got ready to stuff our faces, the wife, aka. Alaa ,served us our food. the beef shish kabob plate i had ordered came with 5 pieces of mouth watering beef served with a side of white rice, hummus ( which was by far the best tasting hummus i have EVER tasted) and grilled jalepano pepper and lavash (flat bread). words can not express how perfect everything was seasoned, the beef was out of this world! i love love loved everything!! everything from the meat to something as simple as the white rice tasted phanominal!! Mini Kabob is my absolute first choice for kabob here in Southern California. My go to order is the chicken thigh plate with garlic sauce and spicy garlic sauce on the side, and honestly the rice holds its own too. The chicken thighs come out moist and tender every time, which matters because that is the real test of a good kabob spot. For me, if I am getting Mediterranean food, the garlic sauce has to deliver. I have had garlic sauce from plenty of places over the years, and theirs is by far the best I have tasted. I also tried the chicken wrap recently and found what looked like falafel croutons in it, something I have never seen before and genuinely loved. Don't come after me for this, but I am declaring Mini Kabob's Caesar wrap the best one in the country. I had it again for lunch today and I am still thinking about it. What makes this place stand out even more is Armen, the owner. He is not just running things from the back, he is behind the counter working alongside his team and keeping the whole operation moving. He has also catered for some pretty well known organizations, though I will not spill all the details here. If your company needs solid Mediterranean catering, or if you just want a great meal, Mini Kabob is worth the trip. One tip, preorder if you can, because popular items like the chicken wrap and chicken thighs do sell out. It is a small brick and mortar, but you can taste that the food is made with real care. Looking forward to trying more of the menu, and I would love to partner with Armen on catering for some of my own events down the line. I'm a born and raised Angeleno and I can only say that I regret not coming to this place sooner. I've seen the hype about Mini Kabob for years through social media and can say it is worth it. The place is small and charming. It's a mom and pop shop where majority of the food orders are take out, this should not be a surprise to anyone at this point. I placed a take out order 2 days beforehand on their website. I ordered the Caesar wrap and a beef luleh plate. I chose a fairly busy time slot and could see how quickly Armen and his family/employees were working. Came to the window, was told it would take a few more minutes, no problem on my end I found parking right at the front. Super easy. TELL ME WHY THIS MAN GAVE ME AN EXTRA PLATE JUST BECAUSE I HAD TO WAIT!? I have never been experienced this level of hospitality and generosity. Usually it's a small side or some extra sauce... but a FULL filet mignon plate to go. I'm still shocked. But beyond the hospitality is the food. The food is amazing, absolutely delicious. The meat is juicy, the sauces take it up a notch you didn't know it needed, and all the sides are cooked perfectly. My sister and I looked at each other like we had an epiphany while eating. If the Hollywood Bowl had a baby, it would be the Ford Amphitheatre. Nestled in the Hollywood hills, this intimate 1200-seat historic and outdoor amphitheare is the perfect venue for a summer concert. Come to the Ford during the Summer Season series for Music, Dance, Theatre, Film & Family events. The last times I was here were for Kollaboration Acoustic 4 & Culture Shock performances. Tips: - Picknicking: For the Summer Session, the Ford grounds are opened 2-hours prior to show time. I usually bring a picnic basket of fruits, cheese, sandwiches, chocolate to eat at their terraced entryway. - Parking: There's FREE, NON-STACKED parking & shuttle ride to the Ford at the Universal Metro Station (at Lankershim Blvd & Universal Terrace Parkway, North Hollywood 91608). The shuttle leaves from the "kiss & ride" area 2-hours prior to show time, in 20-min intervals. You can also park at the Ford for $5, but it's always congested and it's stacked. Mini Kabob is probably the best Armenian food joint in LA. The food is very delicious, their hummus and bread with garlic sauce is the best I ever had. I also really like their pear soda, beef and chicken shish kabob. I went before the pandemic, and the reason I give it 3 stars is because of their ambience and customer service. They only have three tables in a very small room, it's very crowded and not very comfortable to dine in. I suggest Armen to just focus on takeout orders without dining in, it's more efficient and makes more business sense. Armen has very good customer service, but I have to be honest, mom and pop are often considered rude by other yelpers. Maybe because of the cultural difference, I don't think mom and pop have good customer service at all. If you search rude or all the low rating reviews due to customer service, it pertains to mom and pop. I think it's important to put people in the right place where they can do their best, so my suggestion is to have mom and pop in the back cooking the food, and Armen at the front serving customers, that would be a very good format. From large establishments like Massif to small family-owned spots, I've tried them all. However, I must say that this place tops them all. When someone recommended it to me, claiming that you can taste the love in every bite, I was skeptical at first. You will never find this place unless you're looking for it, which is good in some ways, but having eaten here for the first time today and finding the food to be wonderful and the owners to be friendly and nice, I'd love for business to boom for them. I was asked once I placed my order (for the Combination Kabob) if I had time, because, I was told, this is not fast food and it will take a half an hour--which it did. Ate here twice and I will say, it NEVER disappoints! This small restaurant is big on heart, big on taste and big on love! Family owned and operated, this is one of the true gems of LA dining. I got the combo plate. The chicken, pork and beef lule are always tender and spiced just right. The hummus and roasted veggies are a nice pairing with the main dish. The only thing I regret is how small my stomach is to continually take in their food. I have eaten everything on their menu and each has its own amazing and unique taste of genius recipe. I am so happy they're here and so close to home as well. I can't wait to go back and try out more items. I hope they continue to thrive!! The place is pretty small and hard to navigate around the seating. The best and our favorite of the three wraps was the tongue wrap. This was seriously outstanding and one of the best I've had. It was juicy, lemony, cooked well and flavorful. After that, things went downhill. The vegetable wrap was greasy, almost slimey, and falling apart. The vegetables were all soggy and there wasn't much flavor. The chicken shawarma panini was the biggest disappointment. This was so salty and had a bad taste like the chicken was rancid. It was dry and just not good at all. On the way out we spoke to the owner and mentioned how salty it was, to which he said he knows about it and people complain about it often. So why isn't there a change? Sadly not a place I would return to

Out server Emily was a delight. So friendly and accommodating (and thanks again for the Baklava!) We had the lamb shwarma plate and the fried chicken plate, both with hummus. Also a side of the Za'atar/sumac fries. Fries came out first PIPING hot, crispy, seasoned perfectly nom nom. The entrees quickly followed. The lamb was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. And the fried chicken was AMAZING. Shwarma that is breaded with an amazing mixture and fried. Genius! The plates also came with hummus topped with whole chickpeas (YUM), dilled rice, a cabbage salad and other greens, grilled pita bread, olives and my personal favorite, pickled radishes. Many reviews describe them as beets (which I also love) but these are radishes and they pair so well with the rich meat. An umami bomb! Portions HUGE (we have a full meal waiting in the fridge) and prices very reasonable. Patio is a very fun hang with pretty lights. My only knock is on the chairs which are not exactly "comfy." But that's a trivial issue. Service was attentive and staff so friendly and helpful. I can't remember Emily's colleague's name but shout out to her and her Rasputin's shirt (yay Berkeley vibes.) She was great. We will definitely be back at Dune soon!

Both my lamb and tenderloin skewer were cooked medium and they were perfect. Lamb is one of those dishes that can be a hit or miss because if it's not cooked right, it will be chewy - mine was perfect! And, the spices they use to cook the lamb in will have you trying to pick up every last drop of juice with your pieces of meat. No complaints with the kafta either. This time, we noticed a clear drop in food quality, portion sizes, overall service and an unexpected new surprise on the bill. I came in with my wife, our two young children (10month old and 2 year old), and my mom. Unfortunately, the pita bread was stale, a portion of my wife's chicken was undercooked, the portions were noticeably smaller than before, and the server completely forgot my mom's drink. Those issues alone were frustrating, but what really stood out were the added fees at the end, fees that were not charged in the past. We were charged a 20% "large party fee", along with an additional "service fee". When I spoke with the owner, he explained that their system automatically applies a large party charge to any group of 4 or more people, including babies who don't even order food. That threshold seems unusually low, especially since most places consider 6 or more a "large party" and from my experience typically don't consider babies 2 years and younger as occupants. Even more concerning, none of these fees were clearly communicated to us beforehand. Being surprised with multiple charges at the end of a meal feels misleading and leaves a bad impression. To add to that, after already including these fees, the payment process still prompts customers to leave an additional tip. I've only seen this type of fee structure at higher-end restaurants and for more people, not at a casual spot like this, and even then it's usually disclosed upfront. If a business is going to charge extra, the service and overall experience should reflect that. My recommendation for Elena's, if you want to make more money, just raise your food prices so your customers at least know how much they're going to spend at the end. Not slap surprise charges at the end and force your customers to pay. On a positive note, at least they were playing Fast and the Furious on their TV. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL. Please be aware of their shady business practices.
