This place is OK. Unfortunately, there are not many great roast beef and sub shops around Lynn. We ordered a chicken finger plate and a BBQ steak tip plate. The chicken was OK. There was no dressing on the salad and the fries were really not that great. The steak was very well seasoned but didn't taste like quality steak nor did it taste anything like BBQ. It all depends on what other places you try. I think once eating at a place like Nick's in Saugus or Winthrop, it's hard to like any other place. I know people also comment about the service, but I think it's just how they are. They are not "warming" compared to other people, but you can't take that personal. People are people. As long as no one is intentionally trying to be rude, it shouldn't affect the scoring. I care about the food! read more

I give them 5 stars for their Greek Salad. The roast beef is great, too, although I haven't tried it for a long time.

I called in an order for a steak tip dinner, On the menu (updated menu) its priced as $12.95 and says " All Dinners are served w/ Greek Salad, Fries & Onion Rings " So i asked for the fries & onion rings no salad. The lady on the phone said that it would be "a couple" dollars more Which i didn't get at first since it says served with Fries & Onion rings and not Fries "or" Onion Rings. When I got there I was charged $16.95. 4 dollars more. I will stick to Mandee's in Lynn I get the same thing for $12.95 and they offer Rice Pilaf as an option too and much more friendly !! read more

Haven't had their food in a while since I moved from the city, but relatives picked up take out and brought it over this weekend. Food is still good. Don't think I've ever had anything bad from there. Roast Beef is their specialty and glad they haven't overlooked that. Place is clean. Seems to still be family run, which is always good. You find a better Roast Beef sandwich in MA and I will eat my hat. I just finished a "Supah Beef" with Lettuce, Pickles and Sauce. Yes, in Mass we call it a Supah Beef. The beef was rare, juicy, tasty and as lean as they make them (not a speck of fat to be had). My only complaint is the parking, however, I have actually gone through more gyrations on occasion to get from street to street to turnaround just to get into the lot to get me a Roast Beef that's how good it is. read more

I honestly do not understand all the positive reviews for this place. I've ordered twice from this place. Both times customer service was horrible. They are really rude and indifferent in this place. It felt as they were doing me a huge favor by serving me. Both times I had takeout. Food is 2 out of 5, at best. First time I got steak tip salad, and I asked for extra steak tips for $3 more. When I got home and opened the salad, I was amazed. There was 7 tiny charcoaled pieces of chewy beef on top of 2 day old lettuce, along with some veggies. What a great deal for $12... I thought that I should give this place another try, and get something different. This time I got a roast beef sandwich (their specialty), with some fries. Roast beef was okay, nothing special though. Fries were soggy, and were sitting there for at least an hour or two. This place robs you. If you don't have cash the atm gets $3 and the owner gets $2 before you even place the order. USED to be great but never going back. Salad had bad cucumbers tomatoes and olives. Only thing fresh was radishes .The steak was disgusting. Had balsamic dressing in it and was not cooked fresh. Garbage flies everywhere. U get ripped off and food has flies in it. Just compared the 3-way at Minos directly to Johns. Both are excellent. I would say that the beef at Minos is slightly more tender and hotter, though I'm sure it varies at both places. The bbq sauce at John's has a much stronger flavor while the sauce at Minos is less intense. The bun at John's is better, toasted sesame seed while Minos was an untoasted plain roll. read more

Within minutes, the owner came out into the dining area with a lit ciggarette in his hand, thinking it was funny. I had young children with me and it was so unacceptable. I run a career program for at-risk kids and meet them at different places all over Lynn. I have one client I meet at Mino's once a week for an hour. I always buy at least 2 drinks, sometimes food too. The lady with the brown hair is very nice and always gives me a receipt. I make sure we never take the last table and keep to ourselves. Today, the woman with the black hair and olive skin came over and told me that we can't meet there and need to go elsewhere. I explained that we are paying customers. There was also no one else in the restaurant at the time, so it's not like we were in anyone's way. She told me we are there "all the time" and "it's not a once a week thing." I explained to her that actually, it is once a week. I also explained that I meet kids at several businesses in Lynn and ALWAYS buy something, and most business are happy to be a part of a program serving the community and welcome us, which was the case with Mino's until today. I wanted to explain to her that businesses that welcome us I specifically call to place big lunch orders for monthly meetings because we frequent there. I was actually going to order from Mino's this month. But I didn't get a chance to explain that because she was busy asking me to leave and not come back. Now, I won't be ordering lunch or anything else from there ever. You would think that with all the community awards displayed in their establishment, they would want to be part of the community and help serve them. Clearly, if you're kicking out regular paying customers, you don't want that. Congratulations, Mino's, you just canceled a regular customer. read more

i tried mino's the other day and was pleased. it's cash only, so remember that when you go in! i got a roast beef with just sauce on a yummy toasted bun. the roast beef is a bit dryer than say kelly's, but the sauce is so damn good. its like a spicey bbq sauce. they put a perfect amount on so you taste the beef/buttered toasted bun/ and sauce all at once. pretty good! will def be back since its a block from my house ;) read more

I have been a die-hard Minos fan for as long as I can remember. The menu has remained consistent and loyal to its tastes throughout time. Beware not too order more than needed though for the food is pricey. The chicken wings are cooked to perfection each time. And you gotta get a jr. beef 3-way. Best roast beef sandwich I've ever had! The food is always consistent and employees make you feel welcomed. I've been eating at Mino's for yearrrrssss. Same owners from since I was in middle school. The cheeseburger dinners are my favorite. They come with two 6 oz burgers (Minos made) with salad onion rings and fry's for under 10 bucks. Defiantly the best Roast beef/sub shop in the north shore. they even have awards to prove it! Prices are fair, service is great, food is excellent, parking is ok..(you'll find a spot if your hungry) Minos Roast Beef in my eyes has no competition...they've been the best since the 70's! try them. read more

They used to be the best roast beef in the state. I have some really great memories of this place as I've been going here since i was 3. I even remember what i was eating when someguy ran over my aunt's neighbor's daughters foot just outside the window when i was like 6 years old. Now that the older people are gone they just aren't the same. Still good just not up to par with its former glory. read more
