It looks like this restaurant has a new management team, and the difference is amazing! The food quality, flavors, and portion sizes feel completely different from before. They've also added many authentic Chinese dishes and dim sum options, so it's definitely worth coming back to try more. I love spicy food, and the Chongqing Spicy Chicken tasted just like what I had in China -- the flavor was spot on! In Mission Viejo, where authentic Chinese food options are limited, I'm so happy to have a place nearby where I can enjoy real Chinese cuisine without driving far. Definitely excited to come back and explore more dishes!

Nice local dumpling house. We started with a cucumber salad (4/5 - make sure to stir it so you get all the good sauce on the bottom). We then tried: pork potstickers (4.5/5), pork wontons with spicy chili sauce (4.5/5), pork soup dumplings (4/5), and the orange chicken (4.75/5 - surprisingly good). Overall good experience. They have a big room in the back if you have a large party. Service was really nice for a fast casual location. Looks like they have one of those robot cats that delivers food, but since we were the only folks in the restaurant for lunch, the cat was not in operation. I would definitely come back.

It's my weekend of "YES!" in the OC, so of course I checked out Min's Dumpling, as suggested by Yelp friend Sherry C. (aka IG: aglassofsherry). I'm glad I did! I was welcomed in immediately and guided towards the menus. A large one on the wall, many laminated ones at the counter, and handed a tie-fold menu to look at. Everything looked good and it was challenge to not over order, but I've been craving dim sum and there were many options. Hubs was there for support, but not indulgence, so I ordered Shrimp & Pork Shu Mai: very tasty! Sweet Piggy Buns: YUM! (...and oh so CUTE!) A must get if you like soft, steamed bao w/slightly sweet custard filling. And Sesame Ball: these are always on my list as a must. Unfortunately, these were small, greasy, unevenly fried and not uniformly covered in sesame. They didn't satisfy my craving, so I'll have to find these again, maybe back in SGV on the way home. I was also wanting to add more clean protein and for that, broccoli chicken was perfect. The sauce was nice and light and there was a generous amount of chicken breast and lightly sautéed, still crunchy broccoli. They just launched new beverages so I opted for a Thai Tiger Milk w/traditional boba. It was good, but I think I'll stick to boba drinks from Sunright when I'm craving milk tea, boba and cheese foam. The interior of Min's is very cute and I wish I could've seen the robot server in action. Maybe next time I'm in the area, with a friend who likes to indulge in delicious, freshly made Chinese dishes, I'll pop back into Min's for the friendly service, nice decor and steamed bao. Cheers! We placed a pick up order after seeing the UE BOGO promo for pork xiao long bao. Soup Dumplings 4/5: They were good, both in texture and flavor. They inclided black vinegar, soy sauce, and Sriracha. We would have enjoyed ginger and chili oil/crunch, but that may come down to their to go options. Scallion Pancakes 5/5: They were our favorite from the meal. The tasted so fresh, and they were crisp with a good chew. Fried String Beans 4/5: There was a generous amount of minced garlic that complimented the tang of the sauce, but they were a bit oily. Broccoli Beef 2/5: We would skip this if we return. The broccoli was well prepared, but there was no flavor to the beef and the sauce was clumpy and not the expected texture. The staff seemed genuinely nice and were attentive. I had to wait about 10 minutes for the order, but everything was hot and fresh.

Stopped by Min's Dumpling for a quick bite tonight. Very small restaurant but it was clean. I ordered the main entrees instead of dumplings. Chicken fried rice: very good flavor but definitely needs more chicken. Rice and protein could have been of a better ratio. Too much rice and not much chicken. For the few pieces of chicken in the dish, it was nice and tender meat. Sweet and sour chicken: requested without batter fried and they gladly did it. But it had too much of vinegar taste and way too much onions. The chicken again, was very tender and good. Maybe I ordered the wrong menu items? Next time I'll try the chicken and broccoli in brown sauce, Kung pao chicken, and/or shrimp with broccoli? Service was great. Tommy did everything himself: greet diners, take orders, serve, and clean up! And he was still pleasant and always smiling.

I'm so happy to find out Min's Dumpling opened a new location so close to home! I placed the order via Toast app and everything was ready upon arrival. Parking free, easy and plenty. You can also place the order using their two kiosks by the entrance or via server. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. I think it would be best if consumed onsite as everything tasted tepid and cold by the time I got home some 10 minutes later. The dumplings and wontons were wonderful. Flavorful and had just the right amount of filling and great texture. Scallion pancakes were ok. The oil tasted stale and I wish I had some sort of dipping sauce to go with it. The sesame balls were delicious. I could eat a whole two dozen of it. Can't wait to go back again in the near future!

Each dumpling bursts with juicy, savory broth and tender pork. I think it goes without saying, poke a small hole to release the steam and sip the broth; biting into it could lead to unintended splatter! - Hot & Sour Soup. A bright, tangy-sweet broth with strips of tofu and egg. Comforting, balanced, and exactly what you hope for from a classic. - Broccoli Beef Lunch Bento Box. Tender slices of beef with crisp-tender broccoli. So delicious! It also comes with a side of rice and Persian cucumber salad. Highly recommend. - Honey Walnut Shrimp Lunch Bento Box. Plump shrimp coated in a sweet, creamy sauce, and paired with crunchy walnuts for texture. I didn't think the two would pair well together, but it works! - Kung Pao Beef. Flavorful stir-fry of tender beef, peanuts, and veggies tossed in a savory-sweet chili sauce. The spice is mild, which perfectly suited my palette. Highly recommend! THE VERDICT. Their meats are great quality and flavors are on point. Honestly, that's all I ever ask from a place, and they definitely deliver.

We love XLB so we were excited to try this new dumpling spot so close to home. You order on a kiosk and then find a table. Ordering is easy and the restaurant is clean with friendly staff. We have eaten many xlb from many different spots and we ordered a couple of dishes that we usually get when we go out for dumplings and here are my thoughts: Cukes - crunchy but needed to marinate longer as they were not that flavorful Green beans - al dente with good flavor Pork XLB - the skin is too thick and most had NO broth. We ordered 3 steamers and only a 3rd had broth. They don't have sliced ginger which goes hand in hand with vinegar as accompaniments so that makes these XLB only 3 stars Spicy wontons - thin skin with good amount of meat and I appreciate that they didn't drown them in the spicy sauce Hot n Sour soup - spicy with a good amount of tofu, etc in it. Overall we will not come back here for XLB since there are other local places that have better XLBs, with broth inside and serves ginger with them

Got to try out this Chinese restaurant in Mission Viejo. I enjoyed the chick chow mein and the Xiao Long Bao. The noodles was not too oily and the chicken was tender. While the XLB was meaty and soupy. The server was attentive and provided us with water refills. They do have a robot server too which was fun for the kids. I had a bit of trouble timing when I should be taking the delivered food from it.

The food was really tasty! We got the Kung Pao chicken, beef fried rice, wontons in chili oil, and sweet buns. Everything was brought out promptly and tasted so good. The restaurant itself is really clean with great ventilation because we didn't smell much of the food until it was brought to our table. The waiter was really friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Staff: The staff here is really amazing. We had 2 servers but our main one was Johe which may be misspelled. Her service was truly top notch. She was very friendly, welcoming, attentive, and a pleasure to be helped by. Quality/Quantity: The food here was so good. We tried the spicy wontons, fried rice, vegetable egg rolls, pot stickers, and dumplings. Everything was good but the spicy wontons were LEGENDARY. They were very flavorful and not too hot. These are my favorite. Portion sizes are fair. Value: This is subjective to each individual, but I can say that all of the food ordered was $60. Overall: We've been in search of a new Chinese restaurant and I am happy to say I think we found it. We were very impressed by this establishment. Pro tip: You either have to order on a kiosk or with a person at the front. Be sure you bring cash as after you have experience the great service, there is no way to tip as you've already paid. Luckily, we had cash. Great job to the team here. We will be back for sure.

Food: very delicious! And I love when food comes out super hot! Super fresh.. and great flavor! The corn soup item is very good, has a great light corn flavor . Their chili wonton taste great, they must put a lil cream or something on them? Because that taste takes it up a notch -- very unique and highly recommend -- lastly , I got the Yuzu Sparkling peach drink, it was amazing , would definitely get again. The service was very friendly and helpful. It was our first time there and we ordered at the counter. It was just my daughter and I. We got the cucumber, xiao long bao, spicy wonton, and the hot and sour soup. Everything came out very quickly. They even brought my daughter an egg drop soup- it was very kind of them. The xiao long bao was cooked very well. Very soupy and the flavor was great- my daughter ate all of them. The cucumbers were a good flavor and tasted very fresh. The spicy wontons had a nice heat- it wasn't too spicy, and the flavor was delicious. It was quiet inside and overall was a very nice dinner. It was very clean as well. Here at Min's for the first time. I am vegetarian, and lo and behold they have options! I order veggie chow mein and veggie steamed dumplings. The moment I saw my chow mein, I said to my self "whoa, this might be a yelp review moment!" Then I took a bite and was like "YES! FINALLY! Real Chow Mein!" The noodles are the veggies were perfectly cooked, tasted incredible and I felt good, too! 5 stars! Veggie dumplings, without any sauce, were clearly fresh and handmade and totally radical! Sauce on the table took it to the next level. Perfect for me! Bonus points: not only to they have robot waiters, they have very friendly staff! Service: You order food from the register, pick a seat, and then they'll bring the food to your table. They were very nice and fast even though it was busy (lots of dine-in guests and take out guests). Parking: The plaza has ample free parking. The store is tucked in the corner. Ambiance: There were two indoor seating areas (in the front of the store and back of the store). Water was self-serve. I ordered delivery last night and overall, everything tasted good. The pork soup dumplings were my least favorite -- the wrappers were a bit too doughy and there wasn't much broth inside. But I liked the dipping sauce with it. I really enjoyed the BBQ pork buns, especially since they didn't have any fatty pieces like some places do. Halloween night and we wanted to go out. A friend saw an advertising for this restaurant so we said let's give it a try. What an excellent experience! He started with cucumber salad, which is very tasty. We moved to probably my favorite thing. potato string shrimp.... So yummy sauce on the inside, crispy on the outside. And then have chicken potstickers which were glad you had a little bit of soup on the inside so they were juicy. We wanted a house fried rice/chow mein but they don't make them. I would suggest that to be added to the menu so people could taste both but still pay for a full order. The chicken chow mein was good. The beef and broccoli was so tasty. It came with white rice and made a lovely addition to our meal. Definitely leftovers for us to take home. Server was Tommy. He was very nice. He told us he is opening two more restaurants, one out in Rancho Santa Margarita soon. Location is good. It's on La Paz on the freeway. I would recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return. Ambience is a typical strip restaurant. I have to say I've never seen so much take out from a restaurant as we sat here which is great. I will have to remember that delivery Services will come here and bring it to me. And I love the little robot that delivered our food. It was so cute. read more

Great Service and Hospitality and TASTY eats, Pork soup dumplings were perfect, coming out fresh and steaming! I usually just use chili oil, man served me some soy and vinegar combo and I will not forget this mix. Environment was clean, and well maintained, and can't help but to mention a not feature appetizer @potato shrimp really unique, really good. Stopped here for a quick lunch and it was solid. Clean dining room with a self ordering kiosk or you can order at the counter. I got an order of XLB and the custard buns. Both were good. The XLB were a good size and juicy and the pig custard buns were very cute but wished they were a bit sweeter. Staff were attentive. Seemed like a family style place so I'll have to be back with more people to order more. read more

I was excited to find this place on Yelp. Unfortunately my experience didn't match the reviews I found. The food was overpriced for the serving size of each entree and the bowls of rice portions were tiny. :-/ for a family of three we paid almost $100 with barely any leftovers. And we ate light! The orange chicken which is considered one of their popular dishes was super dry, maybe overcooked. The potato shrimp which was about $2 a piece was tasty but the shrimp inside them was disappointingly barely there and dry. The chicken dumplings were sadly lacking in flavor, thicker wrapping at the top, and pricey for the portion size. Perhaps we paid for the location and not necessarily the quality of the food. I like the idea of seeing new Asian food establishments but this one needs some improvement. I will say that customer service at this location was good though and the restaurant is very clean. I'm not sure that I'll revisit though. read more

Just came for lunch here yesterday when they opened. Such a great restaurant! Can order at the counter or use the screens to order your food. There's a lunch special, but we chose to try out a lot of their tasty dumpling options. We ordered a scallion pancake, steamed pork buns, xiao long bao, pork and shrimp siu mai, and Mongolian beef. The service was kind, helpful, and patient while my party decided what they all wanted at the counter. When we got to our table it was clean and even though we got there at open it was already pretty busy! There are plenty of table to accommodate large parties or even families and teams. There's been an uptick in Chinese cuisine in south Orange County and we've started to try some of the locations based on Yelp reviews. We keep hoping not to have to travel north to get so solid food. We tried Min's new location. It fell far short for us. The service was nice, but we weren't a fan of the cook taking a smoke break right near the entrance outside the large view windows. While I get smoke breaks happen in a lot of restaurants, we really don't want to watch it while we eat the food prepared with tobacco hands. The food was really just bland and over priced. An example is 7 dollars for some blah scallion pancakes that probably cost 30cents in ingredients. Do yourself a favor and just get the Trader Joe's brand at home, they taste better and cost far less per pancake. It very much tasted like Chinese food geared for "American" tastes. To get any sort of flavor you needed to drowned the food in sauce. The veggie egg rolls were mushy inside and tasted more like blended ingredients and not fresh. The insects on the table and the filthy bathrooms in such a new place say a lot about this location. The only saving grace was the fried rice... but not worth the stop. While we wanted to love this place, it's a big skip and try some where else for us. We want big authentic flavors that make Chinese food so desirable! Who knows... maybe someday we'll try it again... but this visit left us wanting our money back. read more

Place was packed when we got there, during dinner rush and they had big screens for the food and actual menus to check out, food took about 20-30 mins to come out although they seem short staff at that time. We have DoorDashed from here several times and finally made it in for a meal in person. The server cleaned the table when we walked in, but yet it was incredibly sticky and everything was getting stuck to it. We ordered on the screen while we waited for the table to be cleaned for us. The food was mediocre at best. The chicken XLBs were the best dish we got. The tofu mapo coated our mouths with a weird taste. The chicken potstickers came out burnt. The broccoli beef was okay. My husband finished his water and asked the server if he could get a refill, pointing to the water dispenser. She told him it's up to him, but that she would serve him and never refilled any of our water cups. One of my kids accidentally spilled their water on the table and when the server came by with one of our dishes, she just looked at our table puzzled and asked what happened. She didn't offer any extra napkins or to help clean it up. Maybe we should have stuck to DoorDash, but I don't think we'll be coming back. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect from the chicken dish, but it reminded me of a chicken in garlic sauce. The portion was very generous. full of meat, and not very spicy at all. Likewise, the mapo tofu wasn't that spicy but it had a lot of Sichuan peppercorns, which provided that mouth-numbing feel. The serving was large enough that we had leftovers (and the chicken dish, too). Maybe because my husband is not Chinese, they toned down the spice level - which is funny because I'm the one that can't handle spicy. The restaurant is nice and modern. They have QR codes for the menu, but they also have physical copies as well. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the menu was much larger than the menu pics I had seen uploaded on Yelp (I added a bunch of new ones). Service was fine (though they were arguing over whose fault it was that a customer was ignored, which gave it that authentic feel). Plenty of parking in the lot.

Here's the problem: He makes the customer feel rushed when there is no need. As a result, the customer interaction becomes unpleasant and even somewhat disrespectful. I know that's not his intention, but I can tell you that I would prefer to speak to another person if that option is available. I was picking up at an order around 11:30 am on Wednesday morning and there was only one another customer who was waiting for her pickup order. The restaurant was empty. The wontons were good and we really enjoyed this, however, the broth was unfortunately bland. 4) Green bean with garlic $15.77 - 5/5. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked. There were a couple longer pieces where I wish they would've ripped the seam of the green beans off because it got stuck when I tried to swallow it...twice. 5) Pork & shrimp dumplings (pan-fried) $13.77 extra &1 for pan-fry - 5/5. Crispy and tasty. 6) Cucumber salad $5.77 - 5/5. I normally don't order these because serving sizes for the price are expensive. This was so fresh you could taste it. The sauce was so good. This dim sum restaurant exceeded expectations. The honey walnut shrimp was perfectly balanced -- crispy, lightly sweet, and fresh.
