Minsky's was set to cater our daughter's wedding this past weekend. We had been working with their catering coordinator who had worked for Minsky's for 15 years. 30 minutes before the wedding was set to begin, we got a call from one of the managers, Ryan, who informed us that the catering coordinator had quit that morning, and they did not have any details about our menu. While they were not able to do what we had originally planned, Ryan was extremely apologetic and said he would do whatever he could to get food to us. They were able to get enough pizza for 160 people and have it there on time, just two hours after we had spoken. They did not charge us for the pizza, wrote a kind apology note to the bride and groom, and even gave them a Visa gift card for the inconvenience and trouble. While this is not a situation anyone would want to have happen 30 minutes before their wedding, Ryan and his staff from the Independence and Raymore stores were remarkable in providing food for our guests. The pizza was fantastic, and our daughter and son-in-law have a wedding memory they will never forget. Thank you, Minsky's, for saving the day! read more

Our family decided to get pizza for the whole gang last Saturday and bring it home to our house. And Dear Daughter #1 suggested we go to Minsky's because they offer a line of gluten-free choices. I called in the order at 3:15 in the afternoon and told the polite and efficient young woman who took my call that we would like to pick it up at 4 p.m. we got there just a little earlier than 4 p.m. and it wasn't out of the oven yet, so they were really honoring the requested time -- a big plus for them! The order was ready right at 4 and the young man at the counter offered to carry the stack of boxes to our car for us. Another big plus. All pizzas were just as ordered and the gluten-free box had a sticker on it for easy identification. Minsky's Pizza has been a favorite for many years. We would probably order from them more if they had a Raytown location. Most of the pies were quickly devoured but there were a couple of pieces of their version of a veggie pizza called Nature's Choice with mushrooms, zucchini, artichoke hearts, green peppers onions, sliced fresh tomatoes and slivered almonds on a wheat and honey crust. That's what I had for breakfast on Sunday morning. And I think it was even better the second day! Yay Minsky's! Always a good choice. read more

I love the staff here! We always eat our pizza in the booths in the bar area, and whoever's working in there is always super attentive, friendly, and checks up on us. I'm a fan of their veggie pizza on the whole wheat crust, but in a fit of "try something different, BF suggested we go for their seafood pizza...the "not so much of a fishy fan" girl in me threw her hat gamely into the ring with a little private trepidation, and ordered some cheesy breadsticks to make a meal out of, just in case. The seafood pizza, one of their white pizza offerings, was actually FANFREAKINGTASTIC, to my happy surprise. I'm sure they probably just use artificial crab chunks (hard to tell under the gooey cheese and buttery garlic sauce), but whatever ingredients are in their garlic sauce, combined with the cheese, seafoody sweetness, and mushrooms was seriously heavenly. I'm generally a big Waldo Pizza fan, but this pie was easily as good as stuff I've had the o'l WP. read more

My first time ordering, my bf had you guys before. It was delicious, however boyfriend had Hawaiian but ask for no onions , there was onions, I asked for the nature choice I believe it's called it had zucchini and artichokes on it , asked for bacon strips on it he did not receive the topping. Everything else was good and the pizza was good. We will be back but we will check before we leave. Always make sure you repeat the order and make sure the pizza is correct. read more

What a terrible experience. Leaving my affinity for Chicago pizza aside, this was gross. They we're 40 minutes late with my delivery and the delivery guy was either high or drunk. He was complaining to me how he had to work 12 hours straight and they wouldn't let him off. Yes, he literally apologized for slurring his words. So after dealing with that train-wreck, one of the pizzas was smashed. Cheese and mushrooms stuck to cardboard isn't appetizing. They also made both crusts thin when the guy taking my order specifically asked if i wanted one traditional. Unfortunately, not even our martinis could wash down the hockey puck they pass off as crust. For $45 this place is a rip off. Should have ordered Pizza Hut. At least I would have known what garbage I was buying and it would have been half the cost. read more

We were so excited when we moved back into the delivery zone of this location that within 3 days of being in our house we ordered a pizza to be delivered. On a Monday evening. Not Friday, not Saturday, but Monday. Not even during a game. Just a normal Monday night pizza delivery time. I was never told on the phone how long it would take. When an hour had passed, I called to check on the status of our delivery, this is when they thought it would be a good idea to inform me how long it would take. An hour and forty five minutes to two hours is absolutely unacceptable for pizza delivery. Period. I have an idea...hire another driver. Or maybe tell your customers "hey, we're sorry, but we're not really set up to deliver our pizzas in a timely manner so order at your own risk". As much as we love the pizza, we will never support this location again. read more

Waitress had one job, take our order and put it into the kitchen. She forgot to put our pizza order in and we waited 45 minutes just to get our order. Sucks because we aren't from here and our friends wanted to take us here and we had such an embarrassing experience. Chris, the GM tried to make up for it by giving us a discount. I called the Blue Springs location on November 15th to see if they had a "party room" as I was looking for a location for a group holiday party. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice and said they did not have a room, but would gladly set aside some tables in the back corner for us to use. She was pleasant, so I went ahead and asked her to set up room for 10 people for Saturday, December 10 at 7pm. She told me no problem, took my name and number and our group made plans for our event to be there. This past Tuesday, December 6, I called to verify that we were still a go and to ask if we could make our group for 15 people instead. Again I was told no problem, they would have tables set up for us in the back corner at 7pm. Last night when we arrived for our function, the first person to greet us at the door was a male and he told the first member of our party that arrived that Minsky's never does such a thing on weekends and there were no tables for us. When I arrived I was told a different story by the same young man. He told me that they had to give our tables away because a larger group showed up before us. Then, he said he could not set up tables for us because they were expecting a party of 20 later. (This is the same young man who had already told us they do not do that for anyone on weekends. OH, and no large party ever showed up.) When I asked for a manager, instead of getting me someone he quickly offered us a large booth with a smaller table next to it. Since half of our party was not there yet and notifying everyone of a venue change would have been difficult, we took this option. Several people had driven over an hour to get there, and it was slowly becoming a giant cluster so we settled. It was cramped and not the environment we were expecting at all. As usual, the food was good, and the waitress we had was very nice and apologetic. I order from Minsky's frequently and always enjoy the food, however, it has been duly noted that the Blue Springs Minksy's is NOT the place to plan functions. read more

I ordered pizza for a meeting - three hours before the meeting, yet when I arrived was told they were short staffed and had to wait 30 minutes past our pick up time. When we paid for the pizza, we were not offered any napkins, cheese or peppers. I would have given it more stars if it were not for this. The pizza was average. This is the third time - and we know shame on us - that we've tried to get delivery. First time they could not get the address right. Second time, we spelled the address and they still called us at the wrong place. By the time they got here pizza was cold. Third time, thought we would try to order online where the name of the street could be spelled out. Pizza was on delivery for over 30 minutes and delivery driver stated only 15. Normally I would give Minsky's a good review because their food is usually pretty good and the service is normally pretty good however our visit there last night was nothing short of terrible. After 35 minutes of calling and getting only a busy signal finally the phone started to ring only to ring for about 18 times and then cut me off. I had already tried their online app for ordering online however it said it wasn't in use at this time so that wasn't an option either so finally my wife and I drove up to the restaurant to order in person but not a parking space was to be found. We wondered aloud why it was so busy since it was not a holiday weekend or anyting and there were no baseball games on all the basketball was on but we couldn't figure out why they were so busy. We walked into a crowd that was already to the door and noticed several empty booths a woman at the counter said she could take our order but it would be a two-hour wait for pizza she was very blunt and very Brusque and not friendly at all and seemed a very very flustered at this point we were angry enough that we decided not to order anything and told him we would be back and she angrily said fine and turned her back to us and walked away so we too turned our backs to her and walked away. Tonight we will be ordering our pizza from the Minsky's in Blue Springs which is just a short drive away. read more

Been eating here for a long time gluten free, always been a good time. Go into to eat after a manager and I there have a personal spat not about business or the restaurant or anything, I just knew her, and I got glutened for the first time since eating there. My intestines have been bleeding, my mind has been so blurry and I've been so tired going on 7 days now. My pizza must have been made gluten free then when she realized it was me she must have cut it not gluten free??? All I can put together as it wasn't as extreme as fully eating gluten and she brought it out to me like she cut it and boxed it when I was trying to dine there. All I can say though is if you want safe pizza for celiacs don't go there. Personal feelings or circumstances like business or who you are as a person shouldn't determine the level of safety they use to make their food. Peoples lives are at stake and making good safe food should never be compromised. Idc who anyone is. Store manager was very disrespectful to me while I was there as well. At least she says she's the store manager. Bobs her head when you try to explain something to her if there's a problem like an out of control moody teenager but I guess this is who they are choosing to lead. I'll be going downtown to eat Minsky's from now on or getting my gluten free pizza elsewhere. Just wanted to let all my celiacs know. read more

This Independence location just seems to keep getting worse. (FYI, I have no idea why my location shows as San Francisco - I am in Independence - It's a Google phone thing). In the past we have had issues with them not allowing any customization on sandwiches for delivery - you get what the menu says and cannot remove anything and certainly not add anything. If this happened in person, at any restaurant, we would walk out . We stopped ordering sandwiches here. In the last week or two we tried to order pizza online and that feature no longer works for the Independence location (or seemingly several other locations). You simple can't place an online order. This is a franchise management issue as other locations do not have these problems. The Independence franchise needs to be revoked or sold to a new owner before the brand is completely destroyed - and it's not far from that right now. read more

We ordered by phone and part of the order was chicken parmesan. The order taker asked three times if it was for a sandwich, and three times my assistant told them it was the pasta dish. We got three items, and they made a sandwich instead of the pasta dish, and all three meals tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. They were dry and the tomato sauce was pasty. We threw out our meals. I don't know what is going on there, but freshness and good taste are not a part of it. read more

We ordered delivery today. My friends got chicken wings and the jumbo combo calzones. They were very impressed with the huge portion sizes and great taste. I tried the Minsky's sub with a side salad. I had not tried one of their pita bread subs before and was pleasantly surprised. It too was big enough for a second meal. If you get a Calzone, cut it in halt! They are the size of a dinner plate. With a tip thrown in it was about $10.60 a person. For two meals in one that is pretty good! read more

I ordered for the first time in 8 years and do not plan to go back any time soon. I have a picky eater and requested on my "Create your own" half no sauce. She proceeded to tell me "We don't do that." I said "Could you please try? Every other pizza place has no issue doing this for me." She said ok. I got my pizza home and it appeared to have EXTRA sauce. No attempt at trying to keep it off one side. I understand it's a silly request, but I am paying so why can't I make this request and it be honored. I also would have been overcharged by $5 as I ordered 2 mediums with the second at $5 less. She couldn't find the coupon I was referring to. IT IS A CONTINUOUS PROMOTION POSTED AT THE TOP OF THEIR MENU!!. Extremely displeased. While I generally give Minsky's 5 stars, this location gets 4. I generally head to the River Market area for my pizza fix, but I was out this way and decided to give this location a try. As far as the food goes, it's 5-star all the way. Today I had the BBQ chicken pizza on honey wheat crust. Excellent. I have found that their signature pizzas are well crafted of very tasty ingredients. Of course, you can build your own to suit, but no matter how you go, you'll enjoy thier freshness. The other locations have a feel of a pub, with excellent access to sporting events. The Independence location is just a boring box. Additionally, our service was a bit slow today. I would, however, gladly return to this or other locations. read more

I am surprised by the reviews about accuracy and customer service as this was not our experience at all. We are here from out of town and ordered for hotel delivery. The girls who took our order was extremely nice answered all of my questions and repeated my order correctly 3 times, even with my substitutions and extra requests. Our order arrived exactly in 45 min and the delivery guy repeated the order again when giving us our food. Everything came exactly as ordered. We had one large Mediterranean pizza dubbing gyro meat inst as of the lamb sausage and adding artichoke. It was pretty good. I probably would have liked it better with thin crust but I wanted to try their house crust. It was for me, but I'm sure some people love it.Overall a solid experience. read more

Well we have given up on this mess. They consistently make the pizzas wrong. They have terrible customer service. The latest one is they sent us a 20% memorial day coupon and then refused to honor it? They could do so much better but I will no longer give them the chance to improve. My family has gone to this Minskys for many, many decades. In the last year, it has gotten worse and worse until they seem to be unable to make an edible pizza at all. We have expressed concern many times without effect. Today my husband stopped by to pick up a Four Star Cheese Medley pizza we called in (see photos). The pie was so miserably over done and had so many huge air pockets, he was asked if he wanted them to remake it although they never offered to refund the money he'd already paid. He is diabetic and his glucose level was getting low and he needed to eat, so he took the pizza. It was all but inedible and the part we could eat was cheese that was tough as shoe leather and pretty much tasteless. The crust broke like glass. We have complained to the restaurant numerous times and written a letter directly to the general manager and things have only gotten worse so now I'm taking it public. What a shame! Minskys used to be our favorite pizza. Go there at your own risk and don't order it for a special occasion because you can't tell what you'll get. read more
