Very disappointed that this restaurant went in violation of the health code to allow dogs in the indoor seating area. I heard a lady complain about the dog inside next to the food and staff told her these people had reserved in advance so they allowed it! It was NOT a service dog and was jumping and shedding inside the restaurant! Especially for being a halal restaurant, it is very sad that they are committing health code violations in order to accommodate a dog, creating a very unsanitary environment. This is not acceptable at any other restaurant and in violation of CA laws. I am warning family and friends who recommended this spot. read more

Almost always we will start off with Bandar bun - a very unique appetizer that I have never seen anywhere else. And we had the samosa chaat too. Quite a common dish in any indian restaurant, but I like how they make it here. A lil bit of sweet and sour from the sauce, and mild spice from the samosa just did it for me. And becoz we had 2 guests for dinner with us, we ordered 1 dish from different meat category so they could try them out. The interior has been reimagined into a chiq 1970s retro vibe, with old Hindi movies projected on a brick wall and background Hindi songs from the same era. The decor and vibe brings the diner to a differnt place and time. The service is fantastic. The host is prompt at getting you seated and the waiters are patient and knowledgable of the menu items. Even the most basic things like rice, somehow they get it to the perfect fluffiness, taste, and texture. I've been to restaurants across the country and several Michelin started restaurants, and for me Mint is still a class above some of them. Papadum and Chutneys - Perfect crispiness with a slight hint of cardamom/anise. All three chutneys were delicious, everyone at the table couldn't pick which one was best Naan - The best naan I've ever had is at Mint. It's soft and melt in your mouth, with a flaky crispy surface. It goes perfectly with the curries and dal Rice - Yeah I had to say something about the rice, because it was SO GOOD. It's perfectly fluffy, slightly spiced. Chicken Karahi - Even better than I remember, it has heat and is a little spicy, with a good lemon zing. Butter Chicken - SO MUCH FLAVOR! It has some heat but isn't too spicy. Try this with the naan! Dal tadkha - They really nailed this one! Its hard to find good dal since some places make it too watery, and others too spicy. Mint somehow found the Goldilocks zone on this with the perfect amount of heat and spice, without the lentils becoming mushy.
