I've heard so much about Mint since they first opened but never had a chance to visit--until recently, after they reopened following the fire. The ambiance inside is very nice and welcoming. I tried their signature chicken biryani, which was okay but not as impressive as Charminar's. We also ordered the chicken karahi, which was just average. The service was good, though a bit slow for our small group compared to how quickly they served larger tables. Additionally, I felt that the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Overall, a decent experience, but there's room for improvement in both food quality and value for money. read more

Used to love Mint before Covid but I'll pass from now on. Service was non existent. Food was very oily, fatty, greasy and very pricey for the small portions. Four small pieces of kafta for $20. Chicken Karachi was swimming in oil had only 6 small pieces for $25. Restroom floor was flooded and who wants to sit with flickering lights of a projected movie against the wall. My fork had a metal shard protruding and I needed to grab one from another table due to the lack of service. Gave them the fork on the way out to throw out so nobody gets hurt. read more

The moment we stepped inside, the aromatic fragrance we both smelled coming through the front door transported us to the vibrant streets of India. We both thought, if it tastes anything like it smells, we are in for a culinary treat! We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, and Garlic Naan bread. Every bite was a new revelation. Each dish with its own aromatic notes. Flavors were complex, perfectly balanced and rich. Chicken Tika Masala was juicy and tender. The sauce was creamy and indulgent. We scooped up every drop with Naan Bread! Each dish was unique and just as delicious as the other. Portions were generous, and we ended up with plenty of leftovers for another meal for two. I have to be honest. In recent years, most restaurant experiences leave me feeling I've been over-charged and underwhelmed. Not so at Mint! With one meal, this gem of a restaurant has renewed my faith. My only disappointment is that it's a 6 hour drive from my home to Laguna Hills and I happened across Mint during a one-night stay in the area . For those lucky enough to live within reasonable distance, let me tell you about our meal. Our server was warm and enthusiastic, clearly excited to describe dishes and make recommendations. We started with Papadums and Dahi Puri. The papadums were great but, oh!, the Dahi Puri. Magical crispy orbs, delighting the senses with an explosion of taste and textures. Don't skip these little flavor bombs! Next up, Chicken Karahi with rice and plain naan. Served in a wok, tender on-the bone chicken was bathed in a sauce of complex, fragrant, enticing flavors. This was easily enough to feed two diners. And delicious enough to make me consider driving 6 hours just for dinner. Did we have room for dessert? We didn't think so, to be honest, but we asked for the menu all the same. Our wonderful waiter recommended the Deconstructed Gajrella, and who were we to argue? Oh... sweet... heaven. Where is the person who looked at a carrot and visualized this glorious dessert? I want to move in with them. Ate here tonight for the first time. My hubby and I are foodies and have eaten at restaurants worldwide. I must say this restaurant is top notch on many levels! The food is 10/10, great presentation, the mocktail I had was great, and the restaurant had friendly and warm service. Waseem was super nice and helpful when picking items from the menu. If I could give 0 I would. Horrible customer service. Mocktail was disgusting and tasted like burned coal. I nicely brought it up to waiter and they completely ignored me and didn't do anything about it. We had kids with us and the waiter kept giving us dirty looks for bringing our kids- they were well behaved just being kids. This is a gem of a Pakistani restaurant across from Laguna Hills High School! We went last Friday for lunch, and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. It was cool to see a mixed crowd of couples and a fun group of seniors from Karachi! The highlight was the delicious Chicken Karahi served nice and warm in the stir fry pot! I relished the succulent chicken in the rich tomato curry with plain naan (flat bread). The fried Bhindi Masala (Okra) was a good side dish to add variety to the taste. My wife also enjoyed the "Hide n Seek" mocktail with its unique presentation style! Kudos to the veteran chef, Jameel, who has mastered both Pakistani and north Indian cooking skills as his nephew, Yama, explained. Thanks also to the friendly waiter, Waseem, for reminiscing with us about Hyderabad, India. I'm so glad this place reopened! It has such a sultry vibe now vs. its old decor. Our whole meal was a series of "mmms" and eye rolls with almost every dish. Bar none, their paneer tikka is the best I've ever had. So rich and flavorful for a vegetarian dish. I never thought I'd consistently order an okra dish either, but I do here. The makai kofta is best eaten in person - it's got so much texture. I'm used to malai kofta being soggy, but they manage to provide a crispy shell while still in sauce. It's really good. They have pakoras but they're not on the menu. I think they're temporarily available due to Ramadan. I like eating them with achar.... Their achar doesn't have any inedible bits like a lot of restaurants do. They really pay attention to details. Great mocktails too. Just had door dash deliver. I used to eat at mint all the time before it burned down. First time trying it again and it's not really the same. Portions are small, before chicken tikka was a good portion, today it was 4 pieces of chicken. Chicken biryani was mushy. They are trying to make it more upscale like khan Saab. Not really a fan. I'll try it again maybe go into the store to see if it's better. Maybe try some other dishes. Honestly I am really disappointed with tonight's food. read more

This place isnt what it used to be before it closed down. Before it closed down, the food was the BEST Pakistani food I ever had in my entire life!! It was a solid 10/10 and soooo flavorful! We went back after it reopened and we were pretty disappointed because the food wasnt like it was before it closed down. I think the chef must have changed. They recently renovated the entire restaurant but the owner is still the same. Reza was our server and he was so sweet Butter Chicken 10/10 I love butter chicken and this has to be one of the best ones I've had! My favorite one was at this hole in the wall place that shut down during Covid but this is exactly the same. I could eat this again and again. Chicken Karahi 10/10 The flavors in the karahi were amazing. You can taste all of the love put into the dish. The garlic, ginger, and chilies is a flavor explosion in your mouth. So yummy. Chicken Biryani 9/10 The chicken was very tender. This was the second time I had biryani and it was very good! You can also taste all the different spices in this dish. Garlic Naan 10/10 No need to explain. Garlic naan with the butter chicken. Salad 8/10 I think the salad was decent but I wouldn't order it again. The sauce (mint chutney?) was really good but the salad was decomposed. It was more of a side to the rest of the food. Mango Mojito Mocktail 7/10 It was good but it was $9. It tasted just like it sounds. I think that it wasn't anything special and the price was steep. I wouldn't order this again. Everything was hot and fresh. Even after driving back home the food was so hot there was no need to warm up anything. Everything was flavorful and the spice level was just right. Not too much. Not too less. The bhindi was really good. Enjoyed the fennel in it, gave it a good flavor. The Seekh kabab were juicy and not dry. They had a lot of flavor without putting our mouths on fire. The kids enjoyed them as well. Butter Chicken was a hit especially with the kids and the adults loved the karahi. Great option to order out and still receive food that tastes as good as it would if you ate there. We've eaten here before and the restaurant is clean and neat. They run a tight ship. The waiters are on it and the food quality and taste are consistent. Come for the karahi and end with chai and our favorite: naan dipped in kheer. read more
