Dial Instant Printers is a local family-owned commercial printing & graphics company that provides traditional & new print technology with superb customer service & high quality work at competitive/budget-friendly prices. I first worked with Roger Martin, Owner, in 2024 for my managers' Lunar New Year card in the Year of the Dragon. My manager switched print shop but also one that they used before: Dial Printers in Manhattan Beach. We corresponded by emails & phone calls to execute 250 cards (family photo in the front with well wishes on the back) & 250 envelopes with the return address printed in the same font as the message. The original artwork was simple, & Roger provided feedback to elevate & execute my manager's vision, adding some oomph with red foil on the dragon & 2024 year on a heavier card stock without increasing the initial quote by much. Fast forward to 2025, I wasn't sure if the LNY family card would happen since I reminded my managers that Lunar New Year moved up a few weeks to late 01/2025. It was decided last weekend that they were going to design a card. What!?! Yikes!! The eldest daughter created this year's LNY card (Year of the Snake) & delivered it Monday night; this year's family pic was more casual than their professional photos in years past. I emailed & followed up with a call on T, 01/21 if it's remotely possible for Dial Printers to execute 250 cards & 250 envelopes (without the return address & no foil work) -- keep it simple & deliver by COB F, 01/24. According to Yelp, their hours are a straight 9-to-5, & we were texting past 9:00 PM. Roger & team were able to complete the job within 24-hours after my text approval. They probably didn't start production until W, 01/22 & I picked up the cards on Th, 01/23, around 11:00 AM. Wowza! There was leftover heavier card stock from another project that he upgraded this order for the same price! The LNY cards looked & felt more regal. Grateful for the early delivery, this gave me plenty of time to prep the cards for mailing the next day. However, it was too good to be true. Why? There was a slight shortage (~6%; 9 recipients without a card, including the extras count) so I was unable to send a handful of them. I immediately notified Roger Friday late afternoon, & asked if he can make-up the shortage by the LNY Eve. He was able to make-up the difference + extras (10 sets) for this printing glitch by the morning before Lunar New Year. I picked up the cards & envelopes shortage, & sent out the balance of the cards by late morning; the stamps will be postmarked before LNY. Yasss! This is important in Chinese custom: don't be late!! Yes, there was a minor hiccup; however, Dial Printers did everything they could to make up for their mistake. I've been cleaning up the file cabinets & found previous LNY cards... I can see the changes in design & card types, added details, & workmanship over the years. Under normal timing (7 - 10 business days lead time), there have been no errors, & Roger's been generous to pad the order with extra cards & envelopes. His prices are competitive & more than fair IMO, so the family returns annually to work with him. Dial Instant Printers has excellent service, delivering a quality product with a quick turnaround time at a very reasonable price. The only downside is there are no weekend hours, but Roger does a thorough job of keeping us posted on the production status & may deliver earlier than the anticipated date... that's what I call excellent customer service! I had a busy Friday morning with one child's medical appointment, followed by 2 kid drop-offs, & trying to squeeze this pick-up between all that a 9:00 AM meeting. My manager texted they open at 9:00 AM to make the pick-up en route to the office. Per Yelp & their website, their hours are: Monday - Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. When I called Friday morning, a friendly voice picked up & I asked for Daniel, who was on the line. I informed him my manager's LNY cards were ready for pick-up & inquired if I can stop by within the next 5-mins. & they're open. The print shop is located on the corner 223rd St. with the parking entrance around the corner off Vermont Ave. There's no back entrance so you need to walk around & enter on 223rd St. I was greeted warmly by Daniel, recognizing his voice, & announced myself. My order was presented on the counter & I asked if I could check its contents even though I have no idea what was printed. I was all thumbs trying to open the box with my fingernail, & Daniel jumped right in & used a razor to get a sample preview. My Type A mind sees a group family photo in the front with "Happy 2023 Year of the Rabbit" on the bottom left & "新年快樂" on the right side with a couple of rabbits & the family name; on the back there's a photo of their 96 YO maternal family matriarch & her recent status & quoting 2 Corinthians 13:14. No spelling or formatting issues -- it was truly a lovely card! Since there were 2 photos, I might have chosen matte photo paper over their card material. No worries...the family was really happy with the results & that's all that matters. Sir Speedy is speedy, delivering a quality product with a short turnaround time & very reasonable price. I hate to write this review. But I was looking for a new local banner printing company but I should…read morehave known better when I arrived to place my order. There were two people working there. The lady, Maria was initially nice and helpful on the phone when I called, but she was perturbed when the other salesperson asked her to help me and snapped at him, telling him and me that she has to be at her desk to process orders and cannot be at the reception desk all the time(yellow flag #1 for me). I asked her a few questions and emailed her my files but didn't hear from them for a couple days until I called them(another yellow flag... but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt again...). I needed this printed within a week or so but when I called and asked, she couldn't give me a completion date. Instead, she told me "I was in the queue" which could mean 3 days or one week(?). When I sent her the files, she sent a proof showing all 4 images were 2ft w x 4 ft h, which is what we ordered. All 4 images shown on her proof were the same size. However, when I picked up the final product, one banner had a white border, which was NOT shown in her proofs. When I explained the border was not in the proof she sent, she said it was not her fault and that she just sends the images and "uses the file I send and does not alter it." However, based on the images she sent in the proof, ALL banners WERE THE SAME SIZE. I get it. My file was wrong, but that's why a proof is sent to the client, so the client can review and catch any issues before printing. Proofs are for clients to review and if there was a border in the file, it should be shown to the client. I would not have approved it if her file showed the border. She also argued the proof is only for color and writing. However, her proof agreement does not say it's only for color and writing. When I explained her proof is incorrect, she tried to sway me by saying the product "looks good with the border" and that "no one would notice". Really? You've got to be kidding me. The four banners are made as a set. It is noticeable if one is different. She told me she could reprint it but would have to charge me. What absolutely terrible customer service!Yes, the file was not correct. However, she "copied" it on the proof showing all sizes were the same and misled me (contrary to the argument that she does not edit my file!) and I received an unsatisfactory product. Had she copied "as is", it would have shown one banner to be slightly smaller than the other 3. And then to argue with the customer was the nail on the coffin for me! You're better off using an online site. Unfortunately, I have to give a bad review based on my experience which overshadows a good product with the 3 other banners. I was really hoping to find a new printing company we could use for all our signage needs, one I could trust and have a good business rapport with. But I will never use them again and don't recommend them to anyone.
