Appalled to hear the words " we don't have time to take care of you " as a business owner I would definitely not speak to a customer like this. I wasn't the one who arranged the appointment with this company, it was the manufacturer, and they were absolutely shocked to hear what happened. They are rethinking about continuing business with Minyard, but the damage has been done. Even worse is that we had several other projects that we wanted them to help out with, but I think it's a blessing to know early on how I will be treated rather than to find out once they are in my house. Some of the most honest, polite and courteous people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They gave me a time frame that was reasonable (not like everyone's favorite cable company, who gives you a time frame of 12-6pm). The service was spot-on and the pricing was extremely reasonable. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for an honest company, with the knowledge of their field of expertise. You have definitely found a repeat customer in me. read more

UPDATE: After seeing this review, Landon (Minyard's service manager) requested that I contact him. I did just that. He informed me that the plumber who came to our home was no longer with the company. He apologized profusely and worked to make it right. Although I admit that our experience was really bad, I believe that was truly the fault of the plumber. I admire Minyard for contacting me to find out more about what happened and having the integrity to make it right. Which they absolutely did make it right. I will call them next time I need any plumbing or AC work done, as I know that they care about their reputation and the work that they do. After reading many good reviews (with a few negative), I decided to give Minyard a call to fix our broken water heater. We called in the morning and hoped to have a fix the same day, as my family had already gone one morning with no hot water. They said that someone would come within a few hours and they would call to let us know they were on the way. So far so good. The problem came when the technician showed up. My husband spoke with him and they both agreed it was probably one of two parts, as there are only a limited number of things it could be. So the least expensive part would likely be the best place to start and fix the problem. The technician said our water heater was still under warranty, so we just expected to pay for the labor. He left to get the part. Not long after he left, he called and said maybe we should just replace the whole thing. It's only 4 years old, so we were not interested in this option. He claimed they don't last that long. (it's still under warranty!!) We said, no fix it please. We waited... and waited... and waited. HOURS we waited (all on the clock by the way). Finally I called to check and he said he was near our house. Still another 30 minutes went by and no sign of him. At this point it's dark and well past the work day hours. We were upset as the labor charge was going to be very expensive and he had yet to do ANYTHING! He finally showed up and said it was traffic, he had to go across town to get the part and the part place was busy. Okay, NO WAY! So he finally starts working on the water heater. Come to find out, for reasons not explained, he choose to get the more expensive part to replace, even after my husband had spoken with him about replacing the other part first. The fix didn't work. No choice at this point but to come back tomorrow as everything is closed. My husband and I, our toddler and baby were without hot water for another day. The discussion about buying a new one comes up yet again. The next morning, my husband, (very upset at this point) calls the plumbing supply place in Round Rock (we are in Cedar Park), which is about 15 minutes from our house and they have the part that we need. The part that we thought was going to be replaced first. The part that had the technician did what he said he was going to, would have been back well within an hour, fixed the problem and left us with hot water that day. Not to mention the money we would have saved on labor! My husband goes down to the supply place, purchases the part, comes home and replaces the part himself. All within an hour! On top of ALL this, the technician didn't take the part he was going to replace with him to the supply store across town, so he said that we would need to pay them for the part, then take the part ACROSS TOWN and have them reimburse us for the warranty coverage. All in all, we had a bill over $400 that didn't fix anything, and had to take the part across town to get our money back for a part that didn't need to be replaced anyways. We were left angry, without hot water for 2 days and ended up having to fix it ourselves. Trust, honesty and doing what you say you are going to is paramount when hiring a plumber. If these things are important to you, as they are to us, don't hire Minyard! read more

We had a tankless water heater installed. The service man just did not know what he was doing. While he was installing, 3 inches of water came from our ceiling as the water heaters are in the attic. $5500.00 damage and they are not taking responsibility. Most likely to end up in small claims court. I filed a complaint with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and they have been very helpful. Not only all that damage but they did not get a permit to do the job and the gas pipes were not installed to instructions and code. read more

The worst plumbing company ever. Please don't use. They cause a flood in my house and refuse to help with repairs. When I tried to call and talk with a manager all my calls were blocked. read more

Minyard was timely and called to let me know when the service tech would arrive. Dan Mickelson arrived on time and did an outstanding job clearing out the sewer line and installed new toilets. He was very professional and polite. Will do business with them again. Highly recommend. read more

Extremely poor customer service. Technician showed up an hour late for appointment, promised estimate by end of day or next morning. Never heard back so called office, was told technician dropped the ball and would have estimate by end of day. No estimate received. Called next day and was told they had written the email address down wrong so it didn't go through and they couldn't be bothered to call and give us the info. We called again and told them never mind, that we'd find someone else to do the job and the guy told us "I don't blame you." read more

I'd like to write a positive review about the work completed but all I can do is review their lack of service and professionalism. I recently sent two different requests for electrical service online and made one phone call to request a quote for installation of recessed lights in my family room. I never received a follow up email or phone call from their company. I'm very disappointed in their lack of professionalism and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Hot water heater fiasco!! I came home to find a pin hole leak in the copper tubing on my hot water heater spraying everywhere. Called at 8:26 pm spoke with Lindsey. She was polite and helpful. She called back at 8:28 pm and advised a plumber on call would follow up. At 8:35 pm the on call plumber named Ron called back and advised he would be in route. Ron arrived was very nice, helpful, and even took the extra step to vacuum the water off the floor. Ron was done and on his way at 9:24 pm. From call to departure was less than an hour!! Outstanding service, and speedy too. I would recommend this company to anyone. read more

I called Minyards when I was doing some remodeling and found multiple issues with the sockets behind the cabinets. Ian came out and took a look at what was going on.. Gave me estimates on what absolutely needed to be done now, what should be done fairly soon and what should be done but could wait based on budget. the day of the service he not only arrived on time but took into consideration the work that was going on and made accomodations so contractors could still work while he was working. But unfortunately that is where the good work ended. Ian is still great at what he does but the way he is scheduled, my job became a side job that was picked back up whenever nothing else was going on. A month into this process and I still have an open fuse box, sockets with no covers and the sockets that were supposed to be replaced were not. Had to call in another company to finish what Minyards didn't have time to complete. read more

Horrible service. I made an appointment with Minyard for an electrician two days ahead of time. I took a half day off work to be available. I called them at 11:30 am the day of the appointment to confirm and they replied that everything was scheduled and ready. I was given a window of 1:00 - 3:00 pm. "Ian" the technician called at 2pm to say that he had been having a bad day and asked me to reschedule to next week. I explained that I had taken a half day off work and had cleared the area in which he would be working. He said that he could be there by about 4 pm. He called back at 3:40 and said that he was all the way up in Killeen and would not be making it. I called into the main office to complain and get resolution. The person on the phone "Chris" apologized and said that the work would have to be done another day. I asked him to recommend another company. He put me on hold to check. He gave me the name of another company that he thought could come out the same afternoon. I called that company and they said they were booked out for 2 weeks. The Minyard website states that they have 24 hour 7 day a week service. I question this, as they did not offer to come later in the evening to honor their appointment. They were polite and apologetic, but that does not undo the disservice. I would absolutely not recommend this company. read more
