Super enticed by the menu and reviews, but ended up quite disappointed. The space is small and cute but there was no welcome. The cashier wasn't particularly mean, but damn, We're in the south! Where's the smile and hospitality? For this I had to take off a star. My wife and I shared the Georgia Peach Cobbler waffle - the peaches & cinnamon streusel were delightful, but I actually found the waffle itself unworthy. I actually like the taste and texture of a classic waffle, but this seemed to have more of a crumble like cake batter (but not in a pleasant way for me, personally). The standout finding: a charming establishment that doubles as a cafe and vacation experience, and that is the only place in Savannah to offer authentic Belgian liege waffles. The then search led to pictures of the food and the clever drink concoctions. Need I say more? Yes! Whether you want a breakfast or lunch dish, you can have both, for either meal. The brie and raspberry waffle called my name because I can't say no to one of my favorite fruits and cheeses together. It becomes much more difficult to resist. Paired with a lavender flat white, my meal was one for the history books. If you're much more inclined for traditional coffee drinks, don't let the lavender scare you away. When I went to bed the night before, I could hardly wait until the morning when I could pay a visit to Mirabelle. In fact, it makes me want to sing a little song. Want to hear it? What's funny is that I don't even have a particularly strong sweet tooth, but it just looked so good I could not deny the experience. (And I'm glad I succumbed!) Prior to my visit, I had only tried traditional Belgian Waffles and was totally unaware that liege waffles are actually the more well known in Belgium, identifiable by their uneven edges and bits of angelic caramelized pearl sugar. They are a little more hardened, chewy and sweeter that the typical waffle you may be used to, but if you're open to that and ready to embrace, these will make a delightful dessert (or breakfast) as a stand alone, or topped with additional ingredients. It was also my first time trying Vietnamese Iced Coffee, served here with 4 shots of espresso (I opted for only two) and then served with condensed milk poured over. It was absolutely delightful and made me re-think why I never use condensed milk for anything outside of baking. So good. The cafe itself is also incredibly adorable, warm and quaint with options to dine inside the pastel adorned interior, or outside on the sidewalk to enjoy the sites of the cathedral located directly across the street. read more

I'm very familiar with mirabelle cafe, but I heard they had a new treat on their menu. Which i had to check it out for myself! Parking can either be easy or not so easy. The location is right across from the gorgeous large church which makes the view nice, but Sunday morning made it tough for parking. Otherwise its not to hard to find a spot, being close to a square. I got a new coffee i havent tried before which was called Cafe Miel. I got it iced because its hot as crap outside and I needed to surive. It was delicious! It contained all the best flavors; honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg. I'd definitely order it again. Highly recommend. Now for the cookie. It was a very hefty sized cookie. Very chocolaty and rich. Overall it was really tasty. A couple down sides. I wish it was served warm. I ended up taking a bite and waiting until I got home to heat it up. That definitely helped bring out the flavors. The only other thing that would make me not purchase this again is the price. Its $4 for a cookie. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty and a good size, but not sure its enough for the cost. If you're in town looking for a cute coffee and breakfast spot definitely check them out. Mirabelles is a must-go-to! The waffles alone are worth every dollar, but the view as well is absolutely stunning with the church right across the street. I was worried because I asked for syrup with my Georgia Peach Cobbler waffles and she said they had none, but explained that the waffles are made with sugar cubes throughout to make them sweet by themselves.... Wow was she right! I loved my waffle and large coffee, and my girlfriends "Southern Belle" which had lemon curd was just as good. A great little place to get a unique treat. The setup is a little strange, but it is in an old house. Was a little confused as to if there was seating upstairs. I ordered the Australian coconut 2affle, it was okay, they went way overboard on the coconut, and I love coconut. There were three of us and we all ordered a different desert, so we're able to try three of them. Would of given five stars but the staff was confused about the first check in drink, and said due to new ownership they could not accept it. Not a huge deal, but still strange.
