Even after we clearly answered that we were not in line, multiple employees kept stopping service to ask my friends the exact same question over and over. It felt like I was being singled out for no reason, and the repeated attention was embarrassing and unnecessary. This is a coffee shop. We're not trying to budge the line just because we're brown people. I've never been to a coffee shop where employees were so focused on making a customer feel uncomfortable instead of simply serving people. It completely devastated my peace and made what should have been a quick coffee stop feel awkward and hostile. Customer service isn't just about making drinks--it's about making people feel welcome. Unfortunately, this experience did the exact opposite. I won't be returning, and I certainly can't recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere.

That is unacceptable behavior from anyone, especially someone working in customer service. If you're in the area, you're better off going to Stereoscope Coffee down the street. The café has outside and inside seating. I prefer to sit outside since there were a lot of students working on their laptops and I didn't want to cause any distraction since we were there to mingle and chat. Being outside was nice, but you also still have other people seated outside, or in passing. The barista/cashier was friendly, especially when I let him know that it was my first time. He asked me what my likes were and said he can make that for me. I went with a hot honey cinnamon vanilla latte and it was good. It may have needed more to it because it was not flavorful and sweet enough. I couldn't taste the honey or cinnamon. It tastes more like a vanilla latte. But I think this is an easy fix next time I order. They also have a restroom for customers which I visited, and it was clean. There is plenty of parking and this is definitely a college crowd, but welcome to everyone.
