We took our 4 month pup in for her last set of shots and chip insertion. The doctor and staff here are very helpful and they run a busy office smoothly. We did ask a lot of questions (wrote down ahead of time) and got good answers in raising our puppy. Pet care is expensive, but this money is well spent.

Beacon at Miramonte in good spirits thanks to the wonderful staff there!

This is the best veterinary hospital I've been to hands down. This is what sets Miramonte above the rest: When it comes to Dr. Taylor this man really cares about the animals. You know your pet is in good hands when you give him to Dr. Taylor. The staff there is very nice and genuine. They are willing to help and answer any questions you have. My dog Beacon had an emergency situation. And Dr. T made sure I knew he was going to be okay. Now that he is fully recovered it really helped having that reassurance. In the past I've left other Vets with a lot of unanswered questions and still worried about my pet(s). I fully recommend this hospital. I wouldn't want to take my dog anywhere else. Keep in mind I wrote this review after many visits there. I feel as if many of the people writing bad reviews had one bad visit because they didn't get their way.

My animals are the heart of my life. I am so thankful to Dr. Taylor and his staff. I have been bringing my cockatiels, Mario and Cutie, here for years. I once brought Mario on a Saturday when Dr. Taylor was leaving for the evening. I told the receptionist that Mario needed to be seen right away and she told me to rush Mario over. Dr. Taylor waited so he could see Mario and indeed saved my beautiful Mario. Dr. Taylor is not sweet, warm and fuzzy but he is courteous, professional and always gets to the heart of the matter. What matters to me most is that he is thorough and Incredibly skilled. Not only that, he cares about the animals and it is apparent. Most recently, I brought in my 2 year old golden retriever, Simba, to be neutered. He had a cryptorchid so I was a especially nervous about the surgery. The surgery was a success. The first night after the surgery, Simba was in great discomfort and crying. However, the next day he was chipper and feeling a lot better. He quickly recovered and within a week he was wanting to play. Of course I could not let him since he was still recovering. It takes 2 weeks before full recovery. My Point being, a cryptorchid is always a very serious operation but Dr. Taylor did such a wonderful job and Simba recovered within a week. And of course, Simba wasn't happy with the cone of shame but he had to wear it until the two weeks were up. Now, I say all of this because in the past I have been to so many, so called, reputable Veterinarians in the Valley, but in my opinion, Dr. Taylor is the best. I am just ever so thankful to Dr. Taylor as I know I can always count on him to keep my babies in health and well-being. My animals are my life and I know they are in good hands in Dr. Taylor's care.

They tried to truly understand the issue before just jumping in and recommending something they sell. Additionally, Dr. Christine called me with test results personally and seemed like she truly wanted to get my dog the help he needed (nothing urgent but a couple of things in his bloodwork weren't great and she wanted to get him an additional test as soon as possible!) and lastly, I have a very friendly dog but at the last vet he would get soooo nervous he wouldn't even let them touch him very much. With Dr. Christine's staff he practically jumps in their arms when he sees them and he's still nervous but he wants to interact with them when at the previous office he would try to get away from the staff! I highly recommend Dr. Christine and her whole staff! The office is beautiful and very clean and I don't feel like my dog is just another patient, it truly feels like they are there to care for him.

However, everything changed when we went to Los Altos Veterinary Clinic. During a routine appointment, I asked Dr. Gould for her opinion on my dog's condition. For the first time, I felt like I truly understood my dog's health outlook. Dr. Gould provided genuine, realistic feedback and educated us on our dog's care in a way that was accessible and clear. Her demeanor and expertise are the blueprint for what a doctor should be: empathetic, realistic, and able to translate medical complexity into layman's terms. Rather than being pushy about "right or wrong," she focused on what was best for my dog's mental and physical health, while remaining mindful of my own capacity as an owner during the recovery process. She brought tears of relief to an emotionally taxing situation. A few highlights that make this clinic stand out: * The Staff: From the front desk to the practitioners, the team is phenomenal; warm, professional, and patient. As a medical provider myself, I recognize a high-functioning team when I see one; there are no "loose ends" here. * Efficiency: Scheduling is seamless, and they respect your time. I've never found myself waiting around past my appointment time. * The Personal Touch: They treat your dog as if it were their own. They even put out an adorable personalized welcome sign for your dog's first appointment! If you value high-end medical care and total professionalism, come here. This clinic is truly "it" from top to bottom. I cannot stress enough how valuable this entire team has been for our fur baby.

Finding a good vet that is at a privately owned hospital has been a challenge and after reading their website and hearing good things from a couple of colleagues, I drove over an hour each way for appointments with each of my dogs. I saw Dr. Cauvel and was very impressed with his knowledge, he recognized it was better for me to handle my super excitable malinois vs have her go into the back for her vaccination, and most importantly, when I presented him with a more complex issue on one of my dogs and I presented my thoughts, he didn't treat me like my background was somehow a threat like I have experienced before. He went out of his way to review some information and photos I emailed after the appointment and we decided on what to try. I was really thrilled with my experience with this vet at this practice with both of my dogs, and despite the drive will definitely be coming back for future needs.

I strongly advise against trusting this clinic with any major surgery. I brought my rescue cat here…read morefor treatment of nose cancer, which they had already diagnosed as being present throughout his entire nose. Despite this, they completely ignored one side of his nose during treatment and committed multiple acts of severe professional negligence. 1. Failure to Follow Agreed Treatment Plan: I paid for and consulted on an aggressive, complete nose removal. The consulting veterinarian explicitly stated that the surgery "would be a waste" unless the entire nose was removed because leaving any cancer behind would cause it to return aggressively. Instead, a general practice surgeon--whom I was never permitted to speak with--made a unilateral mid-surgery decision to perform a minimal "scrape," leaving 2/3 of the tumor and visible cancerous bulbs intact. 2. Complete Violation of Informed Consent: If the surgeon did not feel capable or comfortable performing the agreed-upon nose removal once my cat was sedated, they had a strict medical and ethical obligation to call me from the operating room. By failing to contact me, they denied me my legal right to decline a substandard procedure, wake my cat up, and immediately transfer him to a qualified veterinary oncologist or specialist who could perform the surgery correctly. 3. Total Lack of Post-Operative Communication: When I picked up my cat after major surgery, the clinic provided absolutely zero communication or discharge instructions. I had to discover via text message that they failed to complete the agreed-upon service. They then falsely claimed the cancer was only on one side, directly contradicting their own previous diagnosis and what was clearly visible. Because of their failure to remove the tumor as promised, the cancer returned with extreme aggression. I had to euthanize my cat because this clinic robbed him of his only opportunity to receive a proper, complete surgery from a qualified professional. I have the full text message logs, emails, and images confirming this timeline. A formal complaint regarding this professional negligence and failure to obtain informed consent is being filed directly with the State Veterinary Board. Do not trust them with your animal's life. Response to owner : There is a fundamental difference between a "medically complex" adjustment and a complete change in surgical scope without owner consent. The explicit, documented purpose of Tom Tom's consultation was a complete nose removal. I was explicitly told by your staff that a partial removal or "minimal scrape" would not be effective given the aggressive nature of his cancer. Yet, while he was sedated, Dr. Eileen made the unilateral decision to pivot to a minimal scrape, leaving active cancerous bulbs behind, without ever calling me to get my informed consent. By failing to call me from the operating room, you denied me my legal right as a client to decline a sub-standard procedure. Had I been contacted, I would have immediately instructed the clinic to wake him up so I could transfer him to a qualified veterinary oncologist or specialist who was capable of performing the agreed-upon surgery. Furthermore, your clinic attempted to retain 100% of the funds for a complete nose removal until I forced accountability through a series of extensive emails. Your own text message records confirm that the surgeon only focused on one side of the nose, directly contradicting the agreed-upon treatment plan. This is a clear issue of professional negligence and a failure to obtain informed consent, not a misunderstanding of "expectations." I will not be having further private discussions with management to help cover up this clinic's lack of informed consent. The time for discussion was when Tom Tom was on the operating table. All further correspondence from me will be handled directly through the formal complaint I am filing with the State Veterinary Board.

He's been there many times for other issues, and the care he received in the past has always been excellent. When we checked in, there was only one animal ahead of us. It's a nice waiting area. Everything was clean and spotless. We waited about 15 minutes before being put in a room. There was only one Dr. on site, but luckily, they weren't too busy. Dr. Beard and her vet techs took excellent care of my boy. He apparently was having an asthma flare-up. They gave him a sedative shot, since he was being a bit spicy. He hates going to the Dr., just like other pets. They gave him oxygen and a steroid shot. They also took x-rays to be sure there were no foreign objects in his throat.
