Amazing place to take your pets. Knowledgeable and understanding to your needs. Everyone is really nice and caring. Highly recommend.

We took our 4 month pup in for her last set of shots and chip insertion. The doctor and staff here are very helpful and they run a busy office smoothly. We did ask a lot of questions (wrote down ahead of time) and got good answers in raising our puppy. Pet care is expensive, but this money is well spent.

Beacon at Miramonte in good spirits thanks to the wonderful staff there!

This is the best veterinary hospital I've been to hands down. This is what sets Miramonte above the rest: When it comes to Dr. Taylor this man really cares about the animals. You know your pet is in good hands when you give him to Dr. Taylor. The staff there is very nice and genuine. They are willing to help and answer any questions you have. My dog Beacon had an emergency situation. And Dr. T made sure I knew he was going to be okay. Now that he is fully recovered it really helped having that reassurance. In the past I've left other Vets with a lot of unanswered questions and still worried about my pet(s). I fully recommend this hospital. I wouldn't want to take my dog anywhere else. Keep in mind I wrote this review after many visits there. I feel as if many of the people writing bad reviews had one bad visit because they didn't get their way.

My animals are the heart of my life. I am so thankful to Dr. Taylor and his staff. I have been bringing my cockatiels, Mario and Cutie, here for years. I once brought Mario on a Saturday when Dr. Taylor was leaving for the evening. I told the receptionist that Mario needed to be seen right away and she told me to rush Mario over. Dr. Taylor waited so he could see Mario and indeed saved my beautiful Mario. Dr. Taylor is not sweet, warm and fuzzy but he is courteous, professional and always gets to the heart of the matter. What matters to me most is that he is thorough and Incredibly skilled. Not only that, he cares about the animals and it is apparent. Most recently, I brought in my 2 year old golden retriever, Simba, to be neutered. He had a cryptorchid so I was a especially nervous about the surgery. The surgery was a success. The first night after the surgery, Simba was in great discomfort and crying. However, the next day he was chipper and feeling a lot better. He quickly recovered and within a week he was wanting to play. Of course I could not let him since he was still recovering. It takes 2 weeks before full recovery. My Point being, a cryptorchid is always a very serious operation but Dr. Taylor did such a wonderful job and Simba recovered within a week. And of course, Simba wasn't happy with the cone of shame but he had to wear it until the two weeks were up. Now, I say all of this because in the past I have been to so many, so called, reputable Veterinarians in the Valley, but in my opinion, Dr. Taylor is the best. I am just ever so thankful to Dr. Taylor as I know I can always count on him to keep my babies in health and well-being. My animals are my life and I know they are in good hands in Dr. Taylor's care.

From the moment Dr. Ang first met with us, he exhibited wonderful listening skills. He valued my comments and made me feel heard. It was a dangerous urgent situation, and he gave it the prompt attention it deserved. My cat had to be hospitalized, and I could not have had a better vet to help me through those difficult days. Dr. Ang was so unbelievably kind and helpful to both myself and my cat. I've had pets my entire life, and I've never been more impressed by a vet. I was very worried about my cat, and Dr. Ang kept me updated and generously answered every question I had. It has taken months for me to write this review, because my cat had to be put down about 10 days after this emergency situation. However, thanks to Dr. Ang's help and advice, my cat got to spend over a week with me at home, before he developed another medical issue that again threatened his life. My cat was put down at almost 18 years of age, with the assistance of Dr. Ang. He made a terrible situation much better than it otherwise would have been for us. This my most difficult time with a pet, and I'm so blessed to have had Dr. Ang through the journey. I can't possibly thank him enough for how much he went above and beyond for my cat, and for me. Dr. Ang is a wonderful person, and anyone is lucky to have him care for their pet. I am also happy with MedVet Mountain View. I've brought my cat there many times, and the fact that I drove from Santa Clara to Mountain View many times specifically to go to this office is evidence of how comfortable I felt bringing my pet there--rather than vets' offices much closer to me geographically. I am happy with the staff and experiences overall at MedVet Mountain View. But, Dr. Zachary Ang is a vet that restored my faith in humanity, and he deserves particular credit for going far beyond the call of duty for myself and my beloved cat.

However, everything changed when we went to Los Altos Veterinary Clinic. During a routine appointment, I asked Dr. Gould for her opinion on my dog's condition. For the first time, I felt like I truly understood my dog's health outlook. Dr. Gould provided genuine, realistic feedback and educated us on our dog's care in a way that was accessible and clear. Her demeanor and expertise are the blueprint for what a doctor should be: empathetic, realistic, and able to translate medical complexity into layman's terms. Rather than being pushy about "right or wrong," she focused on what was best for my dog's mental and physical health, while remaining mindful of my own capacity as an owner during the recovery process. She brought tears of relief to an emotionally taxing situation. A few highlights that make this clinic stand out: * The Staff: From the front desk to the practitioners, the team is phenomenal; warm, professional, and patient. As a medical provider myself, I recognize a high-functioning team when I see one; there are no "loose ends" here. * Efficiency: Scheduling is seamless, and they respect your time. I've never found myself waiting around past my appointment time. * The Personal Touch: They treat your dog as if it were their own. They even put out an adorable personalized welcome sign for your dog's first appointment! If you value high-end medical care and total professionalism, come here. This clinic is truly "it" from top to bottom. I cannot stress enough how valuable this entire team has been for our fur baby.

Finding a good vet that is at a privately owned hospital has been a challenge and after reading their website and hearing good things from a couple of colleagues, I drove over an hour each way for appointments with each of my dogs. I saw Dr. Cauvel and was very impressed with his knowledge, he recognized it was better for me to handle my super excitable malinois vs have her go into the back for her vaccination, and most importantly, when I presented him with a more complex issue on one of my dogs and I presented my thoughts, he didn't treat me like my background was somehow a threat like I have experienced before. He went out of his way to review some information and photos I emailed after the appointment and we decided on what to try. But lately it's…read moregotten disorganized and money hungry. -- For the past few years, I've had minimal issues other than the slightly higher prices. I figured the quality of care seemed good enough, but all that changed recently. My dog needed to switch to Apoquel, and at the time, he weighed 48.3lbs. According to Apoquel's own website, he would need 2 doses of 8mg a day for 7-15 days, and take 8mg daily after. But the vet prescribed him 5.4mg pills, telling me to give him 10.8mg twice daily for two weeks. That would require 56 pills. They provided me 21 pills, which didn't even cover one week, and they charged me $223.50 ($1.97/mg). But if they had given me an Rx for 8mg like Apoquel calls for, I would've been able to buy more than a full loading dose of 30 16mg pills for $69.70 on Chewy ($0.14/mg). So they not only dosed him wrong and gave me an incorrect number of pills, but they also used an inflated price THIRTEEN times higher than market price. I tried to call and ask to clarify, because I haven't had such intense issues before. But the vet just said "no, it's the right dose. If we gave him 8mg, it wouldn't be enough", refusing to address the information I shared from Apoquel's own website. When I asked about the price, they said they "didn't think it was that marked up". My dog is a senior dog, and he had some operations coming up, so I didn't want to switch out for fear that he was going to struggle more with the unfamiliarity. During that time, they prescribed him clonidine. Normally, I request Rx through email, and I get a digital copy that I can print and send to Chewy. But this time, I'd asked in the vet and got a paper copy that I unfortunately misplaced. When I looked for it digitally, I noticed that it was written as "cloridive" in my invoice, which was confusing since that doesn't exist, and no digital Rx was provided. So I messaged to get a digital copy of the Rx like always, but they said they couldn't give one to me for liability reasons, despite doing this multiple times before. However, they could break their rule if I paid for another prescription through a portal that they vend through. When I pointed out how ridiculous this was, they eventually did send the copy, but it was unreasonably difficult. To add a cherry on top, the 10.8mg of Apoquel/day caused health issues in my dog that I have to sort out at another vet. I saw a later comment about how this place is owned by private equity. Probably an important thing to consider.
