    We took our golden retriever into Medvet on a Sunday because she was pawing at her mouth. I could not find anything. However, as soon as we brought her in, they were able to check her and found a stick lodged between her teeth. Immediately , our dog was happy and they did not charge us. This was great service from the entire staff from receptionists to medical staff, who really care for their patients.

    Monica is amazing and super helpful! She took care of my baby kilos :) she's funnny and super chill! They got us in today and were super supportive . I felt reassured and so happy with the services they provided

    I truly cannot say enough good things about this establishment. Not only did they save our baby, but they were so kind and helpful along this process. It's never easy when your pet is sick, but running him into the office with a very low heartbeat, and only moments left to live the whole staff Kicked into action and saved our baby. They were very transparent with all costs, gave me a full breakdown of all costs, so I can make a decision on what I can afford and what needs to be done. It took him about a week to start getting back to normal but after the care of MedVet and all the wonderful vet tech, he is happy and thriving and home safe where he should be.

    'still haven't gotten an answer as to WHO/WHEN EXACTLY/***WHERE Buddy was cremated. He died in Med Vet Jan 2 morning of 2024. I called, staff didn't know answer, I wrote, CATPTA (sp) didn't work for online questions, I wrote a message here in Yelp... no answer. The info isn't on your website either. Please, would you tell me who/WHERE/WHEN Buddy was cremated? I consider this to be the place his soul would've settled (?). WHO does your cremations? How/when do they pick up bodies, cremate and transport? I didn't get the minute with my pet that I asked for before administering the fatal shot, 'cat was screaming in fear and asking me why we were giving up this time, and I didn't have a chance to tell him that there was no possible way to save him this time, thank him, wish him well in Kitty Heaven etc. It's been haunting me ever since.

We initially thought it was a simple bladder infection and started antibiotics, but when that didn't work, we went back to the vet and discovered it was much more serious. They attempted to place a catheter, but it was unsuccessful, and we were referred out for surgery. I started calling everywhere, trying to find help. The quotes we received ranged anywhere from $8,600 to $15,000, which was overwhelming and honestly heartbreaking. After leaving the SPCA (where the front desk -- not the veterinarian -- suggested another option), we were told to go to VEG ER for Pets. From the moment we arrived, Tracy, Simon, Dr Lena, and the staff made the experience completely different. We were met with nothing but empathy, support, and clear communication. The staff, technicians, and doctors took the time to thoroughly explain everything -- our options, the risks, and what to expect. There was no pressure, just genuine care and transparency. As I write this, my baby is receiving the treatment he needs -- at a cost we can actually afford. I truly can't thank the team enough. And a special thank you to Arianna at the SPCA for pointing us in the right direction -- because of that recommendation, our dog made it through the weekend. If you're ever in a situation like this, this is the place you want on your side.

Simon is absolutely terrible, does not know anything about customer service and is completely incompetent and rude. After confirming potential emergency plans over the phone and via email with another member of their team for an upcoming trip, when my cat would be in the care of a sitter, I called back to confirm such plans 12 days later. Simon stated a different plan to me than was stated to me over the phone by another representative and was extremely rude. He claimed I was provided wrong information by the previous representative (he never apologized though!), and left me in an uncertain position of whether my cat would even be cared for if she was brought in by the sitter during an upcoming international trip to Eastern Europe! I was/am appalled! There was NO accountability for the misinformation he said was provided me almost 2 weeks prior. So, I was two days away from a trip to a developing nation, and left with no plan, and no indication from them that they would expedite the issue to resolve it. I brought my cat here on one previous occasion, and was charged an exorbitant amount to induce vomiting after my cat swallowed a small string. After this most recent horrible interaction and lack of follow-through by VEG (with Simon and the manager), I will never bring my cat here again. Nor do I want to interact with them in any capacity. This was by far the worst experience of veterinary care in more than 20 years of having cats. I promptly called MedVet Mountain View, spoke to a wonderfully helpful woman, and was able to secure my emergency travel plans for my cat in less than 5 minutes. My business has officially been shifted to MedVet!

He's been there many times for other issues, and the care he received in the past has always been excellent. When we checked in, there was only one animal ahead of us. It's a nice waiting area. Everything was clean and spotless. We waited about 15 minutes before being put in a room. There was only one Dr. on site, but luckily, they weren't too busy. Dr. Beard and her vet techs took excellent care of my boy. He apparently was having an asthma flare-up. They gave him a sedative shot, since he was being a bit spicy. He hates going to the Dr., just like other pets. They gave him oxygen and a steroid shot. They also took x-rays to be sure there were no foreign objects in his throat. Luckily, all the x-rays were clear. They monitored him, and we were able to take him home after he stabilized. The staff are wonderful here. They treat your pet as if it were their own. Dr. Beard and her team helped make my baby feel better, and I'm so grateful for their compassion and love for all animals. You can tell these folks love what they do. Adobe will always be our number one place to go to for an emergency.

I panicked despite taking her to my local vet (he told me to wait 2 weeks for the antibiotics to work before I do anything else). Long story short, I did end up pushing my appt out to wait, but with all my anxiety and pushing my appt out, the staff at Sage were very nice. They were understanding and I ended up cancelling all together because my vet was right, her bump did go away! 4 stars as they're quite expensive. A consultation just to see a doctor would have been $384 and they take a deposit of $96. I can see charging a lot for emergency but not a scheduled visit a week out. Anywho, luckily my sweetheart got better and I didn't have to take her in. Overall decent experience with their team.

We were then told our dog would need to come in for another visit before they would authorize anything, despite it not even being a full year since his last appointment. At that point, it honestly felt less about the health and well-being of our pet and more about forcing another office visit and collecting more money. What made the situation even worse was the way we were treated during the interaction. Jessica, Dr. Garcia's head nurse, was rude and spoke to us in a very condescending manner throughout the conversation. Instead of showing empathy or professionalism, she made the entire experience feel hostile and uncomfortable during an already stressful situation involving our dog's medication. When you are dealing with a pet that depends on medication, the last thing you expect is to feel dismissed and pressured financially. We trusted this clinic with our dog's care, but this experience completely changed our opinion. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone looking for compassionate or patient-focused veterinary care.

First, I want to acknowledge that the staff were kind, gentle, and clearly cared about both me and my cat. During an incredibly emotional time, they treated us with empathy, and I'm grateful for that. However, my cat was in renal failure, and I don't feel that I was ever given a clear or honest understanding of how serious her condition truly was. I was repeatedly told that her situation was treatable, particularly once she started eating again. She ended up staying there for three nights, and while I was told she had begun eating at the clinic, when I brought her home she still wasn't eating and was in very poor condition. What's most difficult for me is that she passed away the day after I brought her home, after I had spent nearly $16,000 on her care. Looking back, I strongly wish someone had been more candid with me about her prognosis and whether euthanasia might have been the most humane option. I feel like I wasn't given the information I needed to make an informed decision about her end-of-life care. I don't doubt the compassion of the staff, but I do wish there had been clearer communication and more medical guidance during such a critical time. For anyone going through something similar, I would encourage asking very direct questions about prognosis and quality of life, as I wish I had been guided more firmly in that direction.

Without an appointment, the fee increases to $200, a difference that was not reasonably explained. During my visit, the veterinarian declined to treat my dog, stating that my behavior was inappropriate. For clarity, my questions were solely related to a treatment package I had already purchased, for which I paid over $900. These questions were reasonable, factual, and asked in a respectful manner. To avoid any misunderstanding, I clearly stated my willingness to proceed with treatment and to pay an additional substantial amount if required. Despite this, treatment was not initiated. In my view, refusing to provide care to an animal under these circumstances -- particularly when questions relate to billing or package terms -- is concerning and falls short of the professional standard one would expect from a veterinary clinic. I would not recommend this practice.

We have always kept up with Milo's medical care, including exams, vaccines, testing, and preventative medications. In February, we paid for a heartworm screening specifically to maintain his heartworm prevention prescription. The invoice itself states that the annual heartworm test is "essential to test negative annually to be eligible to prescribe heartworm prevention." Nowhere did it mention that an additional physical exam would also be required before approving the medication refill. After multiple prescription refill requests through Petco went unanswered, we called the clinic ourselves. One front desk staff member told us they would respond to the request, only for another employee to later call back with a rude and dismissive attitude instead of resolving the issue professionally. The entire interaction felt disrespectful and unnecessarily confrontational. What is most frustrating is that this entire situation could have been avoided with simple, clear communication from the clinic. Instead, we were left scrambling to get our dog's medication while being treated like a problem rather than long-term clients who have consistently provided proper care for our pet. When concerns were raised, there was no accountability, no genuine apology, and no meaningful attempt from management to make things right. We even requested a refund or account credit for the heartworm test because the additional exam requirement was never disclosed at the time of service, yet we still received no real response. Veterinary clinics should treat both pets and owners with professionalism, respect, and compassion. Unfortunately, our experience with Tama Vet Hospital reflected the opposite. Our most recent visit our cat got a sticky (glue) fly trap stuck to him, which may seem like a silly thing to bring a cat to emergency for... but the level of freaked out that he was, we were having difficulty handling him, and he was bleeding and we couldn't determine from where. I called to ask for advice on how to handle the situation, which they gladly gave. The person at the front desk even called me back after she talked to a technician and had additional information for me! We ended up taking him in, as we just couldn't get things under control on our own and he was clearly in a lot of pain. A technician took him back to assess him quickly, got him cleaned up, located the source of the bleeding and cleaned his wounds. And of course he was an angel for her... (why can't he be like that for me?!?!). Once again, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. They never minimize what you're dealing with... if they thought it was silly reason to be there, they sure didn't make it seem that way to me. They took our concerns seriously and were very supportive, and took excellent care of our cat. The other thing I really appreciate with the team here is that they aren't trying to add on or charge for unnecessary services. Costs are explained clearly and feel very fair. I haven't once felt like they were taking advantage of the emergency nature of a situation. Again... really good people here.

There was minimal wait time and everyone from the front desk through to the vet (Dr Guevara) was incredibly helpful and kind. We brought our ten year old cat (Reina) in for recurring upper respiratory, lethargy, and lack of eating after we were unable to get a vet appointment at our primary vet for at least 4 days. Dr Guevara was incredibly thorough going through Reina's history, listened to our concerns, and even made suggestions and courses of action for potential underlying causes of other health issues that were not related to our primary concern. I honestly felt more listened to and understood by Dr Guevara than our primary vet - and my husband felt the same way. After the appointment the tech walked me through a very thorough summary of our appointment, the medications prescribed, and methodology for administering. Was also really impressed by this because we usually get shoved out the door at this stage at other emergency clinics. Will definitely return in the future when/if emergency consults are required.
