Wow, I was really surprised how good this place is! I was visiting someone in the hospital and was looking for some vegetarian food nearby. This came up in the Yelp search results and I am so glad I choose this place over other options. I ordered the 5 curry thali to go and could not resist eating some as I was driving home. Unfortunately I do not live nearby so I will have to find some excuses to come over this way for more of their delicious food. This is an excellent place for having vegetarian Indian food. The food cooked here has a home-cooked flavor and the owners are sweet and welcoming. I have used their food for small parties at my house and the food has always been great. I specially like their chats and sweets. The rotis will need a special mention if you are coming here for lunch. One thing that stands out in the dishes I have had here is that everything is cooked with lots of care, and that makes each dish delicious and enjoyable! read more

At first, we were excited to find a vegetarian place, went in, picked up menus. Good variety. We never got to try anything though. The host at the cashier told us to sit wherever when we first came in, she was chatting with someone. Not a problem. We did as she said. Then a family came in, they ordered right away at the cashier and got served some drinks shortly after. Still nobody had talked to us which meant 15 minutes of just sitting and waiting at that point. So we just gave up after a few more minutes of waiting and left... Small detail; we were the only non-Indian people in the place. I don't know how much that contributed... read more

Wanting to try a new vegetarian place, I stopped in here in April 2016 and was pleasantly surprised. I had a dahi puri for an appetizer followed by aloo bhaji with plain paratha. The puri was enjoyable and fresh, as was the aloo bhaji and the paratha was hot and tender. Staff was friendly though service was slow, I expect because everything was apparently being made fresh. My only complaint - and this is a common one I have with many (most?) Asian restaurants - is that when I say I want hot, I mean that I want HOT, not "American hot." On the way out I commented on the Tabasco-level mildness of the aloo bhaji which I had requested hot. The cashier basically confirmed that the cook took one look at me and dialed it down. She did assure me though that next time if I specified "Indian hot" I would get it. (On a side note, the restaurant website is very strange: headings are in English but the remaining text all appears to be some other language, possibly Latin?! It appears to have been updated last in 2013 so I wouldn't rely upon it.) read more

Yes this is a typical vegetarian restaurant that does not spend money on decor or any trappings. But the food was very good, I had a thali and also a puri - large portions and very well spiced. I will be back! Oh and in keeping with the low cost decor the food was cheap as well. read more

This restaurant has TONS of vegan options. A friend and I ordered about 40 dollars worth of food, 3 appetizers, 3 meals, a dessert and drink. This was amazing and authentic Indian food. It reminded me of food my grandmother cooks, and the Indian food you find in Brooklyn, New York. The place is strictly vegetarian, no meat or eggs in their food. When I called they took time on the phone with me, asking me my preferences and helping me pick out vegan items from the menu. I can't speak to the facility itself because I had my food delivered, and the man who delivered it was very sweet. This restaurant was a really nice find for my long stay in Houston. read more

I am recently a fan of Indian food, and found this place when looking for another restaurant that had apparently closed. With the counter person's help, I have tried quite a few items on the menu over the course of my weekly visits. Today I tried the Chaat Platter and was delighted with the offering of 4 dishes that I ate my side order of Bhatoora with! And for dessert-Gajar Halwa, a carrot mix, that was tasty without being too sweet. I am looking forward to next week to see what I can try next! Crystal C. read more

Horrible customer service and food is way too pricey for the quantity ...the lady at the counter didn't know what she was doing and also rude... the prices they charge (more) and the price on their website is totally different.. when the other customer asked about that, they said they changed the containers (read quantity) and showed the containers to her... but when measured, the quantity is the same, looks like they are trying to fool people ...the taste is ok, you could get better food at better price elsewhere read more

Went for the first time today. It was too quiet...too empty, ESPECIALLY for how delicious the food was! I was in search of vegan Indian food, and I am thrilled to have found this restaurant! The lovely woman behind the counter offered a vegan special, but I wanted to keep it simple. I asked for something saucy, with potatoes, basmati rice and vegan naan (NOT that easy to find!). Right before she went back to the kitchen, we discussed heat level-- I like it spicy. She mentioned that she would start with MEDIUM. I agreed. WOW! I got a delectable dish of potatoes, peas and a mildly spicy sauce along with a container of additional spicy goodness--some kind of red chili sauce with a red chili and other spices as well, AND thinly sliced red onion---YUM!!!!! I used it ALL! The naan was WONDERFUL--puffy and fresh and the perfect accompaniment to my saucy potato dish and VERY generous helping of basmati rice on the side. Not only will I be back to the restaurant, but I will also be sure to seek them out at the vegan fest the owner informed me about! These are lovely people with a wonderful product! We visited this restaurant yesterday. If you care about quality of food and home-style Indian food, this is the restaurant for you. The food is wry delicious. Mouth watering Mumbai-street food. No food color or preservatives. Place is small and Service is bit slow, but they were very busy. Papdi chat, Vada Pav, Chole bhature are extremely tasty and probably best in town. Dosa is also good, particularly Sambhar was very rich and tasty. We would be going very frequently to this place now. I would like to try lunch next week as the place is not top far from my work. read more

This is a relatively small husband-wife run Indian restaurant located near Jones Rd and 1960 West crossing. They serve lunch, dinner, chat and several other dishes. Food they serve is freshly prepared daily. Waiting time is very reasonable. On May 26 we had ordered food for a small party at our house (about 40 people). We received excellent quality and more than sufficient quantity of food. Service was on time. They had started cooking fresh food in the morning at about 9 AM and delivered it by noon at our house. Everyone appreciated the taste and freshness of food. It did not have excessive oil and spices you normally find in north Indian food. read more
