MiSo has two meanings for these enthusiastic owners - the Korean meaning of "Smile" describes their attitude and customer service, while the Japanese meaning describes one of their signature items (the best Miso soup we've had!). The concept here is somewhat like Subway meets Sushi meets delicious Korean barbecue, but that description isn't quite fair to the quality of food we had here. My wife and I tried a bowl and a Sushi burrito and found both delicious, satisfying, and filling without a single bit of the "I just ate something I probably shouldn't have" feeling you get from most quick service restaurants. But what really makes this place shine even more than the food (if that's possible) is the personality, attitude, and service of the owners. They are passionate, friendly, and offered the best restauarant customer service we have EVER eperienced. Our only regret? I went to Miso, an Asian Bistro, with a reputation for quick service in Lacey Washington. Looking over their menu I went with a wrap as that was what had piqued my interest in the first place. I ordered from the Signature menu and got the Classic with tofu instead of steak. I asked for brown rice instead of white. I also ordered the miso soup (which is not vegetarian and has fish extract in it). The guy behind the counter made sure I knew the miso wasn't vegetarian and I told him that was fine. He was very friendly and asked if I was looking for a vegan wrap. I wasn't. The food was very fresh tasting and very filling. I don't think it a amazing experience or anything, but I would totally go there again because the food was a good bang for your buck. My entire meal was $10 and change. There was a bit of heat to my meal, but nothing that I think would be overwhelming to folks. And with the variety of fillings you can really play with the flavor combinations and customize it however you want. I ate the first half right away and it was great. But this wrap didn't keep all that well. I ate the other half a couple hours after ordering and the nori had gotten soggy from the kimchi and the sauce. My husband found this place on our trip to Portland last month. Workers (later I noticed that they are owners?) were super friendly, and everything looked very fresh. We both had beef bulgogi bowl and it was quite tasty. I like the fact that combo includes miso soup and it was pretty good. Being a Korean, I am picky about Korean food, but I liked what I had and next time we go to Portland, will stop by for lunch. One thing I would like to suggest is including spicy pork in the menu. :D read more

First off, this was my first time trying Miso and I did not go in, I ordered through Uber Eats, or I would have ordered differently. I didn't appreciate that the "Avocado" was actually guacamole and that the "Wontons" were actually tortilla strips. However, that's an issue with the way the menu is setup on Uber Eats. I ordered the Ahi as a bowl with white rice, edamame, cucumber, avocado and wontons. I did not enjoy the avocado/guacamole with this combo, but the wontons/tortilla strips were a fun little crunchy addition. I ordered two sauces on the side; Creamy Sesame and Cucumber Wasabi. The creamy sesame would be delicious with a different combo of ingredients, so I set it aside and used the Cucumber Wasabi and it was sooooo good. I wish I had ordered 2 of those instead. I also ordered the Miso Soup, which I liked, but fair warning if you order it through Uber Eats, the soup is wrapped in foil perfectly so it doesn't leak into the bag, but the soup does leak into the foil wrapping, so be very careful opening your soup. I could feel the liquid pooled at the bottom, so I grabbed a bowl and opened it over that, then poured the rest into my bowl rather than eating from the container it was delivered in. I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely try it again, but probably going to go in person so I can get to know the menu better before ordering online next time. read more

AWESOME place! We've been back almost twice a week since we first discovered it! Healthy, affordable yet delicious. We usually stick with the rice bowl but the burrito-style lunch would be perfect for lunch on the go! The options here are endless! The husband loves the bulgogi and I love their roasted chicken. The chicken isn't dry whatsoever. They have a corn slaw that is absolutely AMAZING I could live off of the stuff! The portions don't LOOK it but we always walk away full and happy and sometimes with leftovers! The staff are attentive, friendly and always have recommendations when you need it. So my son n I decided to have lunch at a "new" place so I went to my trusty Yelp once again!! It didn't steer me wrong THIS time. I ordered the chips with corn slaw, since everyone was raving about n it did not disappoint. The chips were store bought but they were just a vehicle to transport that wonderful slaw, very fresh flavor. The sweet corn along side just enuf spices. We enjoyed very much!! I actually enjoyed it more than my bowl. I ordered the small steak bulgogi with mushrooms, spinach, carrots n creamy sesame on the side. I enjoyed the bowl, just not as much as the darn slaw!!! It's like Subway or Chipotle, Korean Style. I had the bulgogi bowl with bibimbap sauce and chipotle mayo. We added an assortment of toppings including kimchi ($1 more but well worth it).
