We used to love this place. But after our last two visits we are gunna pass. First off they were completely out and not making more of doughnut holes we wanted.ok fine we will get something else, once we sat down to eat my husband and daughter bit into thwir chocolate doughnut and the chocolate tasted like gas or propane . this isnt the firat time. To start we stumbled on this place. Not really expecting much. Walking in first impression seemed a little dirty. We tried a few different donuts most were just ok nothing special very greasy. A few were stale. So that was not great at more then a $1.00 per doughnut. Checking out was the deal breaker as I see a rotting pumpkin sitting on the counter oozing and decaying. I love their donuts (chocolate bars) the most..however, I went there last Friday around 6:00 ish p.m. and the owners' son was eating from the same tray as the pastry for sale were on. As I was walking in the door he picked up some pastry with a tong, put it in his hand, bit from it, then put the balance back on the same tray as the pastries for sale to the public set on. I questioned him as soon as I walked in "What are you doing!!!! Once he recovered, then had a little back and forth with me, he told me "... if you don't like it....." Delicious, delicious donuts. Much better than any of the donuts I've had from the larger chains. This place a bit dangerous, as I find myself craving their unhealthy goodness on too often of an occasion. Luckily it's enough of a drive, I don't swing by as often as my taste buds would like. But as a firm Maple Bar enthusiast, this place is fantastic. Perfect combination of an airy chewy donut glazed just right and deliciously rich maple frosting, lightly layered on top so as to not be overwhelming but thick enough to still be moist when you bite into it. If you are coming for donuts, drive as fast as you can. They are AMAZING!! I get the donut holes almost once a week. But, today I though I would try something different and I got the Ham n Cheese croissant. I would highly advice against it. I opened it up and I found a piece of ham rolled up that look old and grungy and I didn't even see cheese at first. LOVE miss donuts ! Its a little hole in the wall kinda place, but its great. The donuts have never failed to impress and neither have the prices. Its a great place to stop by for those of us who have late night cravings or just have a sweet tooth. The service is fast and they are always friendly. Where do I begin? Walked in at around 11:30 AM. Pretty late for a doughnut shop so I wasn't expecting the greatest quality but what I received was abysmal. I ordered a dozen doughnut holes, a glazed twist, a raspberry jelly donut, and a ham and cheese croissant. THE CROISSANT WAS AWFUL!! First of all it was 3.49 which is reasonable but not for this sack of crap as it was only partially filled with ham and cheese. After several mouthfuls of bread I quickly realized that I had been dooped and that this was a sham. It was definitely at least 75-85% bread. It actually ruined my morning because I had looked forward to this all day. I'll keep it brief with the doughnut holes. They were also terrible. Little flavor, bad texture, and it left a sour taste in my mouth. The only redeeming factor was that this jelly doughnut was one of the better ones that I've had. Furthermore I had a bad experience when checking out. My card was acting funny and declining even though I know I had money. Instead of laughing it off and using something else this lady decided to accost me and accuse of not having enough money to pay (sounds like things aren't going so well here). This is a first. I've never gagged due to the flavor of a donut before now I have. Oh em gee they are NASTY!!! The chocolate ganache tastes like a nail salon. My 4 year old spit it out. I really would prefer to give this place 3 1/2 stars; but since I can't I'll give it three. I have to say I was actually pretty surprised at this place. My boyfriend and I had a Saturday morning craving for doughnuts and decided to try somewhere new; we found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a go. At a first glance this place is an old, run down, hole in the wall, though, the actual quality of the doughnuts is surprisingly good, and the coffee was much better than I could have expected. The food is edible considering the state of the establishment. The reason I took stars away is because it is pretty dirty/dismal. The building desperately needs repair and a good revitalization(and a good scrubbing). There was a HUGE pile of dead bugs in the corner of our booth and I would bet that it wasn't an anomaly. The Donuts and Coffee are excellent. Not greasy and oily like other shops. The only negative thing is the lady behind the counter. She likes to switch the donut YOU picked for another one while you are not looking. She grabs your choice and puts it on a rack with other donuts while you continue your order then grabs, which my guess an older donut thats been sitting there pretending to be yours. I know because i caught her twice and told her i want the donut i picked not the one she switched it for (still same style donut). I'm sure she remembers my face because she has not tried it since.
