The sweet tea was barely sweet, no pepper sauce for the collard greens, and no butter and/or honey for the cornbread. And They were out of potato salad already at 5:30 on a Friday afternoon. The brisket, pulled pork, and cornbread were barely warm. The meat tasted pretty good but the baked beans were just out of a can with a big dose of cumin added. The collard greens were OK but would be better if they weren't chopped up and had pepper sauce. The pulled pork was on the greasy side and was probably more noticeable of that because it was just barely warm. Definitely not my place for barbecue or side dishes! read more

Overall good experience. We enjoyed some items much more than other. Loved the sausage and Mac /cheese and baked beans. Baby back were extremely tender and good favor. Fries were a bit over cooked and could tell brisk was good favor but slightly dry. Staff was friendly. They kept the line moving and food came out fast. This is the first time we've been to a Mission BBQ and it's wonderful. We haven't had that good of brisket in a very long time. It was moist, tender and delicious. There are 6 sauces on each table so you can try a variety of them during your meal or just use your favorite. Corn bread comes with your meat and then purchase your choice of sides. I ordered the potato salad and it was great. If you buy the refillable Mission Cup you get refills when you return for just a dollar. And leave room for dessert! They have them on a rotating basis - currently it's peach cobbler and it was delightful! And in case you aren't aware, they're called Mission because they have one - they support veterans so you're supporting a cause as well. This is a great location but they're also opening a branch near UTC that is expected to open this August if that's closer to you. If you are a BBQ fan then this is a must try. read more

This place was delicious. 5 of 5 stars. From the time we walked in it felt like home. The smell was what a bbq place should smell like. We were greeted with warm friendly smiles & like we knew them. Josh was who took our order. He was a rockstar. He gave us options, helped us and really acted as if he thoroughly enjoyed working there. The managers greeted us as well & it was very nice. My fiancé and I chose to dine here not too long ago. It was only our second time being in the establishment since choosing Mission as our catering choice for our upcoming wedding. It took us a minute to review the menu and after we decided on our choices Ashley was happy to serve us. We were blown away with her customer service skills. We both agree that she was the first person in a while to treat us with such respect while dining out. The food and atmosphere was amazing but the over all service is what made the whole visit very enjoyable. This is the best place for BBQ in Bradenton. They are a military/service themed restaurant and it has all the feels. Brisket is a must try, get it "moist". It's a huge helping and you have a plethora of different sauces to try. Price is right for barbecue, especially when it's smoked in house for 18-24 hours. No freezers on site. I am going to try to be fair when I say that this BBQ is ok. I ordered turkey and pulled chicken with fries and slaw and my kids and husband ordered ribs. While the turkey and the fresh cut fries were excellent the slaw was watered down and the pulled chicken just fell short from being delicious. The rest of the family got ribs which they all complained about and said that even the junky Sonnys BBQ had better ribs. None of the BBQ sauces were amazing so it made it hard for me to like one so I tried mixing them with not much luck. The biggest disappointment was the prices. I don't mind paying high prices if I am being served but for a chipotle style self serve establishment the prices are outrageous. So my point being this place isn't cheap and is just mediocre. Visited on 10/3/18. Pulled pork sandwich was very generously sized. Selection of 6 delicious sauces. Fresh cut fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Restaurant was very clean and well decorated. Another cool thing that happened was at 12 o'clock sharp the national anthem was played and the entire restaurant stood up for it. Great food and a great concept.
