Too Good. I got crab which is not pictured. But they somehow cooked the crab perfect where every time I broke a shell piece in half I was able to pull the crab right out. And the sauce it was in was . The crawfish was so good and they give you a pound so you actually get filled up on it. The shrimp was delicious and cooked very well . Tons of strong Google reviews for this late night place, but so few here in yelp! Feels like a bar but full service restaurant with diverse and creative menu! As born n bred Chicagoans, we were happily surprised to find a Chicago theme and Chicago legend's son as owner. Asked for pasta jambalaya with low spice and they delivered. Yummy,too. Ahi was good, as was the roasted vegetable sandwich. Fresh crispy fries. Excellent service and individual tvs at each table. Easy street parking. I had a takeout Shrimp salad grilled. There were 4 people ahead of me. The order was fast and accurate. Food was delivered quickly and the shrimp were still hot. Large portions are enough for two people. Shrimp was grilled to perfection lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. It was worth the short wait time. read more

If this place served beer, we would eat here once a week. Shrimp were cooked perfectly, fries were salty and delicious. Fried okra had a seasoned corn mill batter with a slight spice to it. Came in for the first time and had a smile on my face and happy to be trying a new seafood place. However, the lady (wearing a leopard shower cap) at the order desk was very, very rude from the start. I asked a question about the combo and she had a serious attitude and just pointed to look at the board and gave me no answer so I just ordered the minimum. When instructed to do so I pulled my receipt from the printer machine. She then with a scowl threatened to "throw my food at me if I snatched my receipt again" What! ?! I have never encountered something like this, so I just ignored her threatening comment and sat down and at my fish when it came out. For the life of me I have no clue why she took a aggressive dislike of me right away. I had a smile, was polite, was in a nice clean summer dress...I'm stumped so not coming back or recommending this place. read more

So, I had ordered from Sam's once with co- workers, it was good. So, hubby and I running errands, wanting to find livers and gizzards. We went thru drive thru, orders livers, gizzards, small xta crispy fries, small onion rings, and shrimp rice bowl for a total of 3 meals each. Excellent prices, excellent quality, and in hubby's own words," these folks have mastered frying their food!" In our older yrs now, [60s], we do not allow fried foods very often. When they first opened it was my favorite place to eat. This place has seriously went down hill. Literally the last FIVE times I've ordered they have messed up my food. And TWICE JUST THIS WEEKEND! Friday night I found a dark hair in my cheese fries. Ok it happens so I threw the fries away. I open my burger to find no cheese and they put ketchup and mustard like I asked NOT too BUT I also found a CLUMP OF HAIR on my burger!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND WENT IN THE TRASH OBVIOUSLY. I tried to give it another shot tonight and ordered a chicken philly with ONLY cheese, green peppers & onion bc I'm allergic to mushrooms and absolutely hate hot peppers. Did they get it right?? My wife and I went to Sam's seafood for dinner tonight we tried to place a call that was the first thing that went wrong to order our food we got hung up on but nobody try to recall back to try to continue the order My wife went inside to place the order and then other people came in and placed the order right behind us they received their order before we even got ours we had to sit there and wait for one piece of fish we got home my wife started eating the gizzards and it was hard as a rock was not impressed at all and we always go there on regular basis the service each time keeps getting worse read more

We were driving by on the way to the beach and stopped for lunch after reading the reviews. The staff was excellent, friendly, efficient and the cooks were outstanding. We ordered tilapia, shrimp and fries. The shrimp was perfect, so was the fish. The fries were excellent, "you can actually see and taste the tender potatoes, and crispy outside. The tarter sauce was excellent, great flavor with a touch of lemon. The sweet tea was perfect. A 5 star restaurant could not have made a better meal in my opinion. I really like Sam's fried shrimp and fish but caution , stay away from the Red Velvet Cake! We got two slices and while it may look delicious on the outside it was absolutely disappointing . I hate that we bought two slices because after the first bite we threw them away. They definitely know their seafood but their red velvet cake is a let down. read more

Everyone has their own favorite fries, but Sam's should make everybody happy. Hot, crispy exterior, and soft inside. Lightly salted. This isn't food sitting around for someone to order it. I was in the mood for a gyro last night and I had seen but never ordered from Sam's so I ordered through Grub Hub - Gyro plain (no tomatoes, lettuce, tomatoes) with sauce on the side and when I received my food I was shocked with the extremely small and pitiful amount of meat in my pita...$9.99 for a pita, sauce and not even enough meat to cover the bottom of the pita! Salem's would always pack on the meat and you could barely close it to eat it. I feel ripped off and would definitely NOT recommend this place! read more
