Friends living nearby recommended this place - Great BBQ, polite staff, good value. Lots of their sides looked so good, I wish I could've tried them all but was only in town for a short visit. They have six different sauces developed in house. I loved the Memphis style on my pulled pork sandwich. Their sauces are available for purchase too. I am personally a big fan of Mission BBQ. Being that it is a chain there's a lot of hesitation by most people to choose to pick that as a BBQ place. I will say this, if you compare it with local joints, it's right on par. I always find the pulled pork to be very moist, the chicken is prepared well, and each time I do the brisket I ask for the moist parts of that which are done very well too! The price is fair in my opinion. I always roll with the 3 meat sampler platter with 2 sides. The portion is a quarter pound of meat, your choice on the meats and has a side of cornbread with it. I will say as far as improvement goes, they really could use warm cornbread each time you go. I had Mission twice this past week and once the bread was cold, it wasn't that great. Warm it was delicious!! I think the sauces overall is solid, perhaps finding a different recipe for the KC sweet one would be a good idea. I'm normally a fan of that being from the Missouri area but found their's to be just okay and opted for the West Virginia style one instead. Been here too many times to count, but finally tried their catering feature for an office event last week and WOW what a great deal! They delivered on time, provided a ton of food with a good variety and at a decent cost per person - $11.99. All of my employees were thrilled. Mission BBQ is an All-American place. If you are here for lunch at noon, you are required to stand and sing the national anthem along with the employees. It is surreal and often emotional for everyone involved. So, you will find me at Mission BBQ once a week, arriving right as they open around 11:00am to order up some of their awesome beef brisket (served wet or dry), pulled pork, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, and addictive house sauces. My favorite sauces are their Alabama White paired with their killer French fries, and their mustard sauce mixed with sweet sauce doused on any of the meats. Their Mac and Cheese is no joke---not that processed cheese food stuff. Their side cups look small, but are definitely filling. I have also ordered catering with delivery from this location before and everything was perfect and the office loved the food. When we walked in, the cashier was very welcoming and explained everything to us from the background of the restaurant to all of the meats and sauces. The order was ready within about 3 minutes of us paying. The drinks are self service. There is another unique section with the spicy condiments, straws, lids, flatware etc in a labeled cabinet. The manager came over and checked on our table a few times. She even brought us a new sauce to try. Everyone was so friendly. The most impressive part was how clean the restaurant was. The employees are very helpful and mostly friendly, eager to help you understand the ordering process and to explain their different sauces. I tried the 2 meat sampler; with brisket and pulled pork, and added a side of mac and cheese- the combos also come with the most amazing cornbread (a good chunk of it too). The pulled pork was tender and delicious, the brisket was good but a little too fatty for my liking. All meats come without sauce so you can customize with your preference of flavor and tangy/spicy. The Florida gator bite sauce is sooooo good. Hands down the best bbq sauce I think I've ever had! It's a combo of spicy and tangy with this amazing orange kick to It- yum yum! When you walk in, you can expect a clean, well decorated restaurant that's decorated as a tribute to first-responders--so cool! You can also expect to be greeted by cheerful staff members, who are happy to make meal suggestions or refill your sweet tea. Mission BBQ has an assortment of barbecued meats to try. Our household is not a fan. Ordered the Market Sampler (3 meat) Pulled Pork, Sausage-Classic, & Turkey at $13.49 and the regular order of Brisket at $8.79, had cornbread, green beans, and baked beans as sides. Meats: The Brisket was overcooked, completely brown on inside, a bit dry, and truly had no smokey taste. The Pulled Pork was served as a clump of meat, it did have a bit of a smokey taste, but no taste of seasoning. The Sausage tasted like any regular sausage from any grocery store, not smokey taste, but the sausage itself was fine. The Sausage tasted like it was just heated in an oven. The Turkey was tender, but like all the other meats, not much of any flavor of season, or smoke. Sides: The Green Beans were supposed to have Bacon in them but it was nowhere to be found and the beans themselves had an almost soured taste, not like vinegar, just off-putting. The Baked Beans were supposed to have Brisket in them, again, the meat was nowhere to be found, and the beans themselves seemed undercooked, not much flavor. The Corn Bread - it has a consistency of sponge cake. Have never had Corn Bread that had this particular texture. Worst Corn Bread we have ever had! We did have 3 sauces: Smoky Mountain, Tupelo Honey Heat, and Carolina Vinegar. Nothing special about any of them. So disappointed with everything. We were really looking forward to the Brisket, which is why we ordered a full order, and then to have it overcooked, speechless. Our order was Takeout, so we had not recourse. IF we had eaten in the restaurant, we would have returned everything, asked for a full refund, and eaten elsewhere. Honestly, cannot think of any worse BBQ. read more

Place was just ok. I am highly critical of good bbq, but this place just didn't do it for me. All meats lacked a good smoked quality. Turkey was dry and flavorless. Ribs actually had good flavor and would be the only thing I would return for even though they were overcooked and fell apart. Brisket was dry and overcooked to the point it just crumbled apart. May as well have been chopped beef bbq rather than brisket. Pulled pork was ok, but nothing to speak of. Green beans and mac and cheese were good. Cornbread was hard as a rock. The sauces had quite a bit of variety, but didn't love any of them. Glad I got the chance to try it, but would not seek it out. Didn't realize the whole restaurant stood and pledged the flag at noon. The bark was the right color and texture but under seasoned. Spare Ribs- seemed more like St. Louis style than actual spare ribs. Way way way over cooked. Spare ribs should never fall of the bone. They should be juicy but require a bite. Baby backs I understand but not spare ribs. I even asked if they were spare ribs because of how small they were. They assured me they were. Smoke was there but the texture is way off and that is a big deal to people that appreciate spare ribs over baby backs. Jalapeño Cheddar sausage - this was the star of the meal. Great bite on the outside. Juicy inside. Great balance of heat and creamy cheddar. They got this one right.
