Tonight we went to the Mission BBQ that just opened in Madison WI. The ribs and brisket were great. My buddies had the beans and fries and said they were good too. Recently tried Mission BBQ for the first time. Had three meat sampler with brisket, spare ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Sausage was good, ribs were over cooked and terribly dry, brisket was also dry and below average. I did order the moist version of the brisket. The BBQ sauces were all average and didn't vary enough in flavor despite there being 6 choices of sauce. Sweet potato was good and corn bread was okay. All in all I would pass on this place and won't be back again. read more

I think this restaurant wins in several areas, could improve in others. Recently ate here for dinner, and overall had a good experience. It took a minute to absorb how the menu worked. The meats are featured in the first few panels, then sandwiches, salads, sides etc. we were asked if it was our first time in, we said yes, but we're not offered much in the way of suggestions or how you could order. I ordered a two meet combo and made it a combo choosing one side and a drink. My husband ordered brisket as a combo and also an order of turkey. I had pulled pork and smoked sausage. I received a generous portion of both. I tried a couple of the sauces, which are on the table, all really good. Smoked sausage was not very smoky, not sure how long it was actually in the smoker, but flavor was still good. Pulled pork also tasted good, but on the dry side. The turkey was very good, nice smoke flavor and not dry. Brisket was just ok, not a very deep smoke ring. We thought the portions for the price was solid. Coleslaw was great, cheesy potatoes were average. Cornbread was included with the meal, which we didn't know until we got our food, having honey ore butter available for that would have been nice, maybe it was at the condiment bar and we didn't see it. Decor and atmosphere are very Americana, country music and a big focus on armed services, law enforcement, etc. The toolbox used at the condiment bar is very cool. Since this is a newer restaurant, I would certainly try again. My one real negative is that the parking lot was an icy, slippery mess. read more

My son brought me here for my birthday, we both had the 3 meat sampler plate. Mine was Brisket, Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken and side of Fries! All meats were delicious & fries were great. Definitely will be back again! read more

Really like the pulled pork sandwich, also liked the brisket sandwich, fattier version. Shredded brisket was too messy. Liked sandwiches without sauces. Sides are average. Like the way they honor the military. Menu board was a little confusing at first. read more

Mission BBQ is by far the best barbecue restaurant I have ever eaten at. If there was an option for 10 stars on Yelp, I would award it to this restaurant. Not only do they serve astonishing meals, they dedicate the whole interior of the restaurant to pictures of local people who fight in the armed forces and serve in the law enforcement. In my opinion, it is the greatest barbecue you will ever taste and that you will not regret your visit. Now why is it so great you ask? I'll tell you why. You walk in and are delighted with the smell of authentic, smoked barbeque. You approach the cash register and are greeted with the smile of an outgoing employee who is eager to help. Even after scanning the menu, your mouth will start watering. Perfectly cooked and seasoned french fries, incredible ribs whose meat just slides off the bone, juicy smoked brisket, the greatest pulled pork you will ever have, the creamiest and best mac and cheese in existence, soft and sweet cornbread that just makes you want another piece, and much much much much more. Once you make your decision, you can sit down at whichever seat you choose and you can admire the respect the restaurant gives to those who serve and those who have served by placing the pictures of local heroes on the wall. The whole chain of restaurants are incredibly respectful to those who serve and have served, giving discounts, having a veterans VIP club, and singing the National Anthem every day at 12:00. The general cleanliness of the whole restaurant will amaze you. The bathrooms are always clean and they don't smell, and the tables and chairs are perfectly wiped off without a remaining crumb. After every bite of your meal, you will become sad, as you know you are nearing its end. Though after your main course, if you still are not full, you can enjoy a delicious, mouth-watering, seasonal dessert such as an amazing peach or blueberry cobbler and oreo pie. With multiple locations in 16 states, you can easily drop in when you travel, so I highly recommend Mission BBQ for the perfect afternoon lunch, an amazing evening dinner, to cater a birthday party or the perfect tailgate before the game. I have been to three of the many restaurants around the U.S, and they have not failed to amaze me so when I say you won't regret going even for a moment, I definitely mean it. read more

I enjoyed the BBQ, the different sauces on the table were delicious and fun to try, the cornbread was good, and despite the long line on a Friday night, it moved fast and we had no problem finding a table. My critique is the kids menu - my daughter doesn't like BBQ meat and the only other option is Mac and cheese - which is fine, but they said they were out of it when we ordered. So, she dined on French fries and baked beans, which is obviously not ideal... fast forward to when we were leaving and saw them serving Mac and cheese to other people! Clearly they were not completely out - maybe they were just making more, and we would have waited for it! If you're going to have such a small kids menu, you need to have all the stuff available. This was poor form. Would not bring kids here again. read more

I visited the MkE location in Brookfield on May 2, 2019 @ 2:19. Ordered a Chopped Brisket Sandwich. Firs,t meat was overcooked and had dry and almost burned tips. Don't think it was freshly cooked as it came out of a container in the warming table. Second, the meat was soooooo salty it was almost inetible. Third, the price for what you got was, I feel, out of line on the high side. Paid $8.40 for just a sandwich. Won't be going back. Too bad as I love BBQ. read more

First time here and will be the last. Had brisket,pulled pork and sausage sampler. Nice amount of food for the price but flavors were lacking. The sausage was my least favorite,taste like breakfast sausage with no smoke flavor at all. Brisket and pork were decent. The problem is there are plenty of bbq joints around with better meats that it's not worth going here. The beans were the best item I had. read more

This is the best bbq place in Southeastern Wisconsin. The brisket is outstanding and the variety of barbecue sauces are so similar to the places they are based on. The employees are always welcoming and check- up on the customers throughout their meals. Went on NYE for a late lunch. LOVED it. I had the moist brisket sandwich, fries and coleslaw. The meat was like butter. KC sauce was awesome. DH had the chopped brisket sandwich. He liked the Memphis sauce but said the brisket was not as tender as mine. He chose beans for a side and thought they were excellent. The only criticism I have is that the sandwich could have been warmer. Sides were great. I love the darker fries and one order is plenty to share for two people. Will return for sure!! read more

Oh my goodness, that smokey smell that hits you when you first step into their door is mouth watering! One of my favorite little extras to this place is the glass bottle classics they carry such as RC Cola. And the meat? All of it is so tender, you could cut it with a plastic spoon. read more

Let me just start with saying this... BEST. F***ing. BBQ. EVER!!! This is such an amazing place that once you hit the door, the respect and pride flows! The bbq is some of the best I have had, counting I have had genuine KC, Carolina, and even yes Chicago style but nothing compares to Mission. The fact that the have a deuce and a half truck in the lot (complete with smoker available for parties) just says BBQ+ 'Merica lol. Staff is nothing short of respectful, friendly, and attentive. They have a ton of memorabilia on the walls and if you have served in the military/public safety bring a patch they will put it in the walls with pride. Be prepared to stand for your flag at noon! They do it everyday to honor the fighting/serving. Truly a gem in Waukesha, they love to make people's days and make them smile! Can't say enough! My favorites here... Lean Brisket, turkey and the smoky mountain sauce. Highly recommended! Plus if you are a veteran you get free food. read more

Went to tryout this place out tonight for the first time and it was excellent. Met Maureen who was managing and she was a great representation of the company. I love all the pictures with honoring the military, police, & fire service. Will definitely be back as much as I can. read more
