A smoked bbq restaurant. They use a dry rub that's nice. Nut a little too salty for me. I had there cheesy potatoes. i liked then. They were really cheesy and different. I also had there there 5 baby back ribs. The ribs were good, soft good flavor. They had a good variety of different bbq sauces at each table to choose from. Had the BBQ chopped Brisket sandwich and threw up after I ate. I called manager and said the chopped brisket or BBQ sauce was bad and I got sick from it with in 5 minutes of eating. He said they test the meat all the time and didn't think it was that. Also said he would call me back which he never did. I have eaten there before and not gotten sick but I won't be trying it again. I was hesitant to post this but I never received a call back which to me was not acceptable if you say you will call me back. I only called to let them know the food was bad so NO ONE else would get sick. I knew within 5 minutes of eating it something wasn't right. And having never been to Mission BBQ before - I, of course, needed to try a few items. The combo is the only way to go people... Pulled Pork is typically my go-to when I visit any BBQ place so it had to be ordered. And Mission's Pulled Pork is top notch. Smoky, tender, and big in portion. So. Much. Pork. on the softest roll. Yum yum and yum. Then there were the sauces. 6 sauces to try, oh my. They're placed on each table in a 6-pack holder and I loved trying each and every one. Some sweet, some spicy, a sauce for everybody's tastebuds. My favorite was the Smoky Mountain sauce for sure. Extra smokiness for all the glorious pork. For my sides I selected the Maggie's Mac-N-Cheese and Baked Beans w/ Brisket. And I have zero complaints about either side. Oh and the sweet tea. HUNGRY- haven't been here before. Did the XL with the meat - 1/2 meat, 2 sides, cornbread and a drink. The brisket was recommended by the local police and the green beans and bbq beans were recommended by everyone in line. They did not disappoint! Cornbread is a bit like a Johnny cake; too sweet. Add corn to it and cut the sugar. Trying their in-house fresh made sauces: KC Classic is close and spicy, Texas Twang is lovely. Smokey Mountain is good and mild but not boring. Florida Gator Bite is very Floridian with a citrus note. Not my favorite but that's me. Tupelo Homey Heat is nice and only slightly sweet. Memphis Belle isn't as sweet as I expected and that's a good thing. Very nice spice, makes me think of KC masterpiece. My choices are ranked as follows: Texas Twang, KC Classic Smoky Mountain, Memphis Belle and Florida Gator Bite. Your results will vary. All in all it was tasty and pleasing. read more

This place is AMERICAN all the way! From the fire hydrant outside, custom painted in red, white, and blue... to the "Veterans only" parking spots in front. This is a fast casual type of BBQ concept. You walk in, order at the counter, and grab a seat while you wait for your number to be called. Service was fast, easy, and efficient. I came for lunch on a Wednesday, and at 12:30 this place was hopping! However, this place knows how to really handle their lunch rush! You select your meat choice, pulled pork (which is what almost everyone around us was eating), chicken, brisket, sausage, and my personal favorite: smoked TURKEY! This is truly my favorite BBQ meat and isn't always offered at most places. This turkey was cooked quite nicely; juicy, tender, not dry at all, and just enjoyable. I would absolutely get this again. For my side I chose fries, as one of my lunch companions and I were sharing my fries and her cole slaw. She ordered the brisket. She liked this, and i tried some. I gotta say- it definitely wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order this. I'm spoiled with my husband's brisket and this just wasn't as tender or succulent. Their cole slaw is delicious. It's not grated into a cabbage "mulch" and loaded with mayo like most places. This is perfect and crunchy and everything I want and need in a cole slaw. The fries were good, definitely hand-cut with skin still on them. Your meal is served with a delectable, delicate, and totally drool-worthy square of corn bread. It's buttery, crumbly, and so perfect. Another thing to mention is their sauces! There is a 6 pack of bottles on each table, each with a description on the back of the six pack container. Additionally, there was a bottle of Georgia Mustard Sauce. It was bright yellow, and being all about sauces, I grabbed this. It was tangy and mustard-y and went really well with the Turkey. It was definitely fun as a first-timer to try all the different sauces. They also have some fun HFCS-Free soda options. Nostalgic and fun, these bring out your inner child. We shared the grape Nehi! Came here based on recommendation from a friend. Don't be overwhelmed but the place is full of pictures and memorabilia from members of the armed forces, all branches,plus police and firemen. The food was delicious and tasted almost home made. I was taken back by this since it was not expected. They are speedy and well organized with the manager asking everyone around how was their food. Solid, consistent bbq with a good selection of sides! The first time I walked in, I literally gasped when I saw all the embroidered patches covering the walls. I've been collecting patches for the last ~20 years and this was patch heaven for me. I couldn't stop looking and there's a sense of patriotism when you really spend the time looking at the photographs and where all the patches are from. Patches aside, we've come back multiple times and discovered that the line moves quickly, I love the brisket and pulled pork with collards, potato salad and cornbread, and my favorite bbq sauces are the Texas twang, Memphis belle and smoky mountain. The staff are also very patient when I'm trying to decide which sides to get. My husband gets the pulled pork sandwich XXL combo that comes with 2 sides, cornbread and a drink. Everything is super spicy. Mac and cheese cold, corn bread stale, no one picked up out front on the patio. 2/6/2017 - YUM, YUM, YUM!!!! Man this place delivered!!! Ordered the brisket and chicken meal. The sides are all a la carte. We ordered the baked beans with brisket and the mac and cheese. Meal comes with corn bread. Before you even get to the counter, they have a display of all kinds of drinks including beer. I grabbed a Black Cherry cola from the ice cold tub. They have 6 kinds of BBQ sauces. We mixed the Memphis Belle, a sweet bbq sauce and a hot honey sauce together. The brisket just fell apart, it was so tender. The chicken was delicious, perfectly cooked. I liked that the mac and cheese was not greasy or buttery, just perfect. The baked beans were the winner here! Everything on our plates was delicious. The whole time I was eating I couldnt help but wonder why the heck I havent come here sooner! We ordered the brisket meal with cole slaw and ribs with french fries. The brisket was fantastic! Its a dry rubbed tender piece of meat that you can eat with the six different sauces they have on the table for you to try. I tried them all and I liked the spicy honey the best. The coleslaw was a nice cool crunch to wash it down but the fries paired better with the brisket IMO and oh my goodness were they good! I was on my way to one of my favorite spots in Davie, The Vienna Wine Bar. Unfortunately, they were not set up out back in their outdoor eating area, and since we did not feel like taking our food out and eating in our car, we searched Yelp. and tried unsuccessfully to go to Zabb Thai & Sushi next. Unfortunately, the directions provided on Yelp did not get us there. But after I posted a tip, a Yelp angel named Mauricio B. gave me the heads up on how to locate Zabb in the future. In the meantime, I decided to revisit Mission BBQ because I was really hungry and I knew they had outdoor seating. Oh man am I glad the others did not work out! I have to admit, I was also surprised to hear that my Mom was not completely on board with going to Mission BBQ at the moment and kept reading the names of other restaurants all along the way on route 84 to me. I love being the driver. I think her resistance had to do with adhering to Weight Watchers more than anything else though. And yes, it is hard but not impossible to adhere to watching your weight while here. But boy oh boy was she singing a different song after she got her food. It was downright delicious, all of it. And yeah, I ate all of mine which I do not usually do with such large portions but then again, you only live once and sometimes the spurge is worth it. And this was worth it! My Mom got the Black Plate Special which was Prime Rib with cheesy potatoes and Cole Slaw. She absolutely love it. She said it's was scrumptious and just right. She is a pretty picky about meat, and has good reasons to be so. My Grandfather and her Father-in-Law was a butcher and he had prime meat. I grew up on the stuff not knowing quite then how totally spoiled I was at the time. Although eating over friends houses where I artfully spit out the meat into my napkin was an early clue. Ironically I was really not fond of meat back then. Kids! What do they know about good food?! I know, I know, I watch Master Chef Junior too. And for the record, I am willing to adopt one of those Wonder Kids! Lmao! But back to the food....I decided I wanted to try more than one type of meat and choose the meat platter with two meat choices. You can try one with 3 different meat choices as well. I tried the brisket (juicy) and the pulled pork. Both excellent! I really enjoyed it all. At first I looked at the brisket and felt like there was so much fat, but the meat was just perfect. Delicious! I wish there was a touch more of the brisket though. Not a criticism, just a wish. The pulled pork was very good as well. Unfortunately, so were the fries and the corn bread which my Mom helped me polish off. I fully admit that French fries do not ring my bell and I tend to not even be slightly tempted by them but when they are great, I cannot leave any on the plate. Needless to say, but I am, these disappeared into our mouths. The corn bread was good too. Better than the one I have a recipe for. I think. The cold slaw was very good as well. As a Yeloer, I do not have a tendency to update my reviews unlesss I think what I previously wrote does not hold up anymore. But I listen to our dedicated community leader Blue A. at the very recent Yelpies, and decided to go ahead and review this excellent establishment yet again. Besides, I was so blown away again, I just had to give them a shout out for their excellent performance! The only thing I do not understand is why I do not come here more often.
