We came in for a late lunch -- hungry. And then surprised to find a few other tables occupied and several takeout orders ready for pickup. We had parked behind the restaurant in their private lot. The outside is kitschy with signs. Inside it's typical bbq restaurant decor -- lots of rustic looking wood. We got drinks pdq and ordered. We each chose the one meat meal which comes with a choice of side. He chose the pulled pork with baked beans and added a second side -- collards. I ordered the smoked chicken with mac n cheese as my side. When our plates were delivered, instead of chicken they gave me brisket. They told me to keep the brisket and brought me a piece of chicken -- so I got to try both. Frankly, the brisket was amazing. It was tender, moist, and delicious. When we got our bill later and they had charged me the higher brisket price, I didn't even complain. The chicken was good, but the brisket was the star. I also really liked their mac and cheese. No mushy pasta or runny cheese here. The portion was a right size and the baked Mac and cheese were the perfect combo of each. My husband liked his pulled pork. He enjoyed both the collards (including the "pot liquor") and the baked beans. And he even liked the corn bread he'd added. We'd come here again. But this time, I'd order the brisket. We took leftovers home and had them for dinner.

We came, the place was empty and it still took forever for one or two servers to come to us Food came out bland and mild in temperature. Not even hot. Outside seating area can be nice but the inside is weird with some sort of paper mache design.

Pleasantly surprised. I drive past this place all the time and decided to drop in because I was craving comfort food. There is plenty of outdoor seating and the inside is like a sports bar with a lodge feel. There were a few couples already seated and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. While I originally stopped in for smoked meats, I opted for the grilled salmon. I had a flight the next day and I figured it would be lighter on the stomach to where I could finish it and not have an abundance of leftovers. I ordered Mac n cheese and greens for the side. The owner (woman owned) did let me know that it would take a bit for the salmon since it's made to order so I sat at the bar and ordered a tequila lemonade. The cocktail was a little too sugary (due to the brand of lemonade - the 'juice' kind, less of fresh lemonade) but it was on the house so I was grateful. I received my to go order about 20 min later with an additional side of black beans and rice as well as corn bread. Again I'm grateful because the owner was being generous knowing it was my first time. I wish the salmon would've been smoked instead of grilled. It was ok but something I could've made at home, the caveat being that I left with 2 decent portions instead of one. All of the sides were so delicious! It really surprised me. The black beans were tasty and the greens had the perfect texture, the Mac was creamy and flavorful, the cornbread was sweet and moist. I was able to finish the leftovers the next day before my flight so nothing was wasted. I will definitely return to try their smoked meats but overall this is a great place for good food and to grab a beer

We loved everything. We all had pulled pork. We had Mac and Cheese, French fries, corn bread and coleslaw.. everything might have been the best we've had!

    Cuban Sandwich

I tried their take out stand which has authentic cuban cuisine(right behind their BBQ restaurant). Stephanie & Pedro were wonderful & gave me a lot of information about what they have, it was amazing service. I tried their cuban sandwich and was not at all disappointed!

The owner was quite the gentleman. He opened the door for us and help my elderly neighbors find a seat. Honestly, this is top notch service and the Brisket

I really like having lunch at Joe's Wood Grill, just off Federal Highway in the heart of Dania Beach. They have a great selection on their menu and the sides are so good. There is plenty of room to eat there, and I usually do, but sometimes I just take my lunch back to my office. Either way, the food is excellent.

    The chef and I

Hands down one of the best local BBQ spots I've come across. Joe's Grill on Sheridan & US1 is the real deal -- from the moment you walk in, you're greeted with that warm, no-frills, "welcome to the family" kind of energy. I had the pleasure of meeting the chef himself, and you can tell right away that this place runs on passion and pride. The smoker out back speaks for itself -- everything here is made with serious care and flavor. Even before trying the food, I was impressed just hearing about the process and watching the pride behind the grill. This is one of those local gems that deserves all the support. Whether you're a BBQ lover or just appreciate good people doing great things, Joe's Grill is 100% worth checking out. Can't wait to come back and dive into a full plate next time.

Ribs smoked so thoroughly, I could smell it in my mustache hours later. You must try the ribs. Second, try the brisket. No frills food that lets the ingredients & cooking method speak for itself. You can see the piles of wood used for smoking in the back. They offer 2 delicious sauces, but you'll hardly need it. It's small, but plenty of outdoor seating. The service was super friendly & helpful. The person who helped me with my order was the same person who made the side dishes. Rare to find small, local businesses that are this unique with simple & clear mission when it comes to the food. A classic establishment in my opinion.

Best Brisket In South Florida! They're known for many things but their brisket sandwich is top notch. Very fast and friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Parking available in the back of the building. I got the chance to meet the owner and he's very friendly and hands on in the restaurant. My favorite place in Dania Beach!

The brisket is awesome. We're from KC and this was as good as KC BBQ. I wish I had tried the ribs too. Loved the cook. Disabled vet.

Took a trip to YG Farmers market today and wow! It's certainly changed! Haven't been in months…read moreand yeah...bUt that's for another review! Had a sample of Locos X pork and that solidified our decision to have lunch. The smells are delicious there. We had the meal for 2 but there were 3 of us and it certainly provided leftovers. The meal included pork belly, picana, pork, a chorizo type sausage, a blood sausage, and ribs. Blood sausage- nah! Chorizo-not the type I'm used to having. Seemed more like a sausage with spices. Pork-delicious! Nice and tender and juicy. Picana-again, I expected more garlic and salt. Not bad, just expected a different taste. Pork belly-basically pig candy! The fat was soft, juicy, delicious. And some skin was included with what seemed like a glaze and had the perfect crispiness. Ribs-they were tasty but not typical BBQ Smokey type tasting. Now, having said all that, I read after that it's an Asian BBQ fusion. So that's probably why the tastes, while delicious, were off. Also why the sides were interesting. A fried rice, Cole slaw, and yucca. All were tasty. The garlic sauce to dip was great. The bbq, again, didn't realize it was fusion so I was caught off guard by the deep teriyaki taste to it. Really enjoyed Locos X. Friendly staff and great food albeit pricy for a farmers market. And since Oaxha isn't there anymore, this fit the bill great.

The line must have had 30 people in it, on a Friday morning??? What the heck is this about... I drove off, no time to stop; I am on a work mission. I went to my printer and he said "oh my, it's so worth the wait..." Okay, so I went back - I am not going to talk about the wait because it was worth every minute - I know why people are in line and surrounding the window - this is clear cut: Fabulous meat : jerk checken, jerk RIBS! I could smell the smokiness as it floated through the air, all the spices kicking in - I am salivating... I was hungry, had not had breakfast, now its after 12... Jerk ribs? I never heard of such; that's why I was willing to back! I picked up lunch for me and printer. Let's talk about the rules: NO SIDES! they do not sell sides unless you are placing a catering order. Pre-Order? NO, not unless you are ordering 5 plates and more.... I had the opportunity to meet Chef Tally and his daughter, Tallia (obvious namesake). I almost walked off without sauce. I just cannot tell you how good the meat was - the ribs were so succulent, flavor packed - JERK RIBS. I never thought of it; I have been eating BarBQ forever, this was a twist that I am in love with. Chef has a cool operation, I was wondering how he could serve all those people - he has a killer (as in giant) smoker that gets the job done. My next event, I will let you know how the sides work because I will call Chef Tally's World Famous Jerk for catering! In the meantime, I stopped at Publix for a small side of Southern Potato Salad and I was a very happy camper.
