Today I had the brisket sandwich (moist), baked beans, and lemonade. While I was eating, Amanda (the manager) walked over and introduced herself. She saw that I was wearing a NASA lanyard and badge so she came over to talk a little and to also offer me a free dessert. Mission BBQ is very, I mean very, military friendly. I love the place and will definitely be dining there a lot. Amanda and her team have got a winner there. Excellent service. This was my first time visiting this restaurant when I walked up to order the host immediately explained the menu to my husband and I. She made sure to recommend her favorites and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. All employees were so kind it was very clean and the food was good. First time here and I liked it from the start. There was a reserved sign for Veterans right at the front door. Being a veteran that was great. Parked right up front! They donate to a lot of military, veteran and first responder charities from what I understand and that great too! The place was nice and clean and smelled great when I walked in. You order at the counter, pay up front and they call your name out when it's ready to be picked up. Straight forward and easy. I ordered the smoked steak which was a first for me. It was delicious! Well seasoned and tender. The green beans and sweet potatoes went nicely with it. My only complaint was the horseradish sauce that came with it was so salty it was inedible. I let the waitress know and a little later she came by with a tray of six mini brownies to thank me for letting them know about the issue and that they were making a new batch of the sauce. Tried the pulled pork sandwich my son had and it was great as well, tender moist and smokey. Each table had eight, yes eight, different barbecue sauces along with a North Carolina vinegar and a white sauce available as well. BBQ was tender and didn't require any sauce unless you just want to spice it up. All sides and deserts are made in-house and are really good as well. Tried a blueberry cobbler and it was very good too. The service was also great so overall I didn't have a single complaint to walk away with. This would be a regular dining spot for me if I lived in the area for sure. read more

WOW! This place is Amazing! Never thought I would like BBQ outside of my own but this place hit the spot. Very good prices, wide variety and the price is very resonable. Service was absolutly amazing. They got part of my order wrong and fixed it right on the spot. Cafeteria style ordering were you walk through a line, place your order, they make it, and you take it right to your table. Plenty of authentic sauces to choose from and the soda selection is authentic as well, nice selections. The lady who took our order was not the niciest but everyone else made up for it. I tasted my wifes fries which were very good, the attendent seen how much I liked them and offered to bring me some (no additional charge). I declined but I wish I got em. The environment has a military flair to it and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We were able to get in, eat and out in less than an hour. I highly recommend and will go again. I have to say that I had the BEST service here. They really love the Military customers. This is not only seen in the decor, but also in the National Anthem played at noon, and the hot out of the oven cookies thanking my husband for his service. The staff on the floor was friendly, considerate, and just a pleasure. Food was served quickly, and honestly it was amazing. The green beans were spot on, the beef brisket was mouth watering. It was a lot of fun to try all the different sauces on the table! The kiddos got Mac and cheese and ribs. I was pleased that they put just as much care in the kids food (most places it lacks taste). The food is great, the restaurant has great decor, and the employees are very friendly. My only complaint is that for a military/police themed restaurant, they do not offer any military discount. This place is new but don't be alarmed by the line it moves fast and the food comes even faster. I went in around 6pm to get some food to go and was initially hesitant about the line but it moved through very quickly, less than a 10 minute waiting time. I ordered my food to go and when they called my name the guy opened my box and clarified what I had ordered exactly and ensuring that it was correct. He asked me what kind of BBQ sauces I need and ensured that I had enough to take with me. He was very kind and courteous as were all of the other staff. Had dinner here last night, it's a cute little place, nice location, plenty of parking. They sell single ribs! I thought that was pretty cool, and it wasn't bad. I got a BBQ sandwich NC style, which means coleslaw on top. I'm glad they have six sauces to choose from because the BBQ was very dry, good taste just bone dry! I loved the tupelo Honey sauce and the smoky mountain, I mixed them together and they were fabulous. The best thing tho was the green beans!!
