As a veteran of the Navy, I wanted to thank them for having a place that honored those who served. Azaria at the front was thankful for my service and did an incredible job recommending (everything) based on our questions. Jen and Yaritza did an outstanding job checking in on us--and also recognizing me for my service. And the conversations with Jen on the sauces...this girl knows her stuff!! (She was right, that Alabama White Sauce is to die for!!) I had the baby back ribs, mac and cheese, fries, cherry cheesecake, and tea. My colleagues had the same, although one added the brisket. HOT DAMN THAT FOOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! (And the six-pack of bbq sauces made it fun to find a favorite, which I think I am going to go with the Smoky Mountain Sauce for the win.) It's a "go to" meat to order at Mission BBQ. The ribs were also amazing and quite filling. My favorite side is the Mac and Cheese as it was crunchy in the top and really creamy in the inside! The coleslaw was okay but needed more mayo for flavor. I ordered the pulled pork, brisket and pulled chicken sampler. Very tasty and delicious. The room is a bit chilly and I had to go outside to warm up a couple of times. They have Pepsi products which I personally don't like - oh well! I went here to eat with my friend for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The server named Jen immediately recognized my Jacksonville Jaguars shirt and made our dining experience very welcoming. The baby back ribs were fantastic and delightfully tender. She told us to step aside so she can assist the customer in the back of us. For one thing my husband is hard of hearing n he is in his early eighties. I am partial handicap n I am in my late seventies. She should have ask for assistance because it made her look bad not to assist us as we are older n Asian. Finally tried it out. The good: the brisket was on point. Got it moist and that it was. Not overly fatty with great bark. Pulled pork and Mac and cheese were good too. M&C had a nice crust on it. They have a plethora of sauces to try which is always great. The not so good: the sausage ..while it had really good flavor it was riddled with bone or cartilage or something hard. Every other bite. I was excited to hear that Mission BBQ was coming to the Henderson area. I had been looking forward to trying it ever since I saw the location being remodeled in preparation for opening. Once they opened, I decided to wait a few months before visiting to avoid the initial crowds. Yesterday, I finally stopped by. The interior is tastefully decorated with photographs honoring U.S. military, police, and first responders -- a clear reflection of the owner's and management's strong sense of patriotism, which I truly appreciate. I ordered the Smoked Cheeseburger, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food I received. The photos I took speak for themselves. I picked up my order immediately when my name was called. However, the American cheese was dried and appeared as though it had been sitting out. The bun was cold and dry. The burger came with just a small piece of lettuce, a single pickle slice, and a small tomato slice -- which still had the dark-colored stem end attached. I honestly can't imagine why anyone would serve a tomato like that. While I hope this was just an isolated incident, my first experience left me with a bad impression and an even worse taste in my mouth. It seems every time I drive by Mission barbecue the place is always busy. I had to try it for myself as I love barbecue and there are definitely some hit or miss places in Vegas. Mission barbecue is actually a chain barbecue restaurant with several places all across the United States. The first thing I noticed right off the bat is the high level of customer service in the restaurant. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They ensure you have a good experience while dining there. As for the food I wasn't blown away. The prices seem to be extremely expensive for very small cuts of meat and the sides didn't really have much flavor. I went with the two meat combo and got brisket and a side of ribs along with mac & cheese and cornbread. The ribs were cook cooked well maybe a little bit on the tougher side and the brisket was good but the portion was so small. It almost wasn't worth it. The mac & cheese lacked flavor and so did the cornbread. Overall a decent barbecue place but not one that I would go out of my way to eat again. read more
