Ordering is cafeteria style from a menu that provides plenty of options... chicken, brisket, pulled pork, ribs and several side dishes. The staff is pleasant and attentive and keeps things clean and tidy. Had the half chicken with slaw and potato salad and it was delicious, especially the potato salad which was not mushy. We love this place ! I've never had a bad meal here . All the meats are so juicy and tender and the sides are mighty tasty . The Mac and cheese is especially good . I will admit the corn bread is a bit dry , but the peach cobbler will more than make up for it . The place is very military and first responder orientated . She asked if I was the graduate and gifted a strawberry shortcake! Customer service is on point. The team seems more cohesive in the years since they opened. I expressed to the cashier that I was a new customer and she was both kind and professional, offering suggestions and samples. All workers were extremely gentle and professional to customers, even during the rush. The Manager was nice about checking up on customers, seeing if any had any needs she could attend to. Me being from east TX, I believe good BBQ doesn't need sauce and Mission BBQ exceeded any expectations I had prior to. My meal was well seasoned and amazing all around. Visiting our son who is a Marine at Camp Lejeune and he says "dad, you will love this bbq place". Man I guess I should start with the food, I ordered for my family which included 2 brisket combo plates, one with Mac n cheese and cornbread and the other with potato salad and cornbread, a pulled pork slider, a Turkey slider, and a side of French fries. I tried all 6 sauces they offer and they were all equally delicious and helped with the brisket. Now, the Mac n cheese. Just wow, the best Mac n cheese I've ever had in my life, hands down. 10/10 no contest. Same with the cornbread, absolutely amazing, best cornbread I've ever had. I tried my husbands potato salad and while it wasn't the best I've ever had, it was absolutely delicious, I give it a 9/10. The fries were a little soggy, I personally like mine crispy but they were alright and my kids didn't seem to mind them at all. Workers brought out all our food very quickly. I've read and heard good things about this place so after 4 years of living here my husband and I decided to give it a try. We paid $30 for two meals which is already a tad pricey, our cashier was not so nice, but the set up is really nice; the walls have a lot of history on them which is cool. The food we ordered was super dry and season-less. It was good after drenching it in sauce and the brownie was dry and crumbly as well. Never had a meal here that I didn't like, I normally get the brisket, jalepeno and cheese sausage (spicy alert), the Chicken, and I normally go for their black plate specials. Went here for dinner today and I loved it. This is my second trip to Mission and I decided to try something new. I went with the spare ribs and a side of Mac n cheese. Both were seriously delicious. You can't beat it for $12! I first time I went here I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was equally amazing. There are secersauces that bring the heat AND add a great flavor. What I love about this place is the fast service, freshly made food, and amazing staff. The people working here are trained well and genuinely seem to care. One lady was walking around asking people how they are, taking plates, bringing boxes and all the while seemed to genuinely be pleased with her tasks at hand. The decorations were pretty cool as well. There are patches strategically placed along the wall, and my favorite, a tool box that is used to house things like the cup lids and straws. It isn't your typical vinegar based North Carolina BBQ which is a good change of pace, but not quite the sticky barbecued from the grill I get in Miami, FL. The meat options are really good. You have Brisket, Chicken, Pork, etc. and you get get it as a sand which or main entrees with sides.
